Finally made my first recipe from scratch! Blue Raspberry Cantaloupe
submitted about 10 years ago by fraktlfaceMixologist

I've been DIYing for somewhere around 2-3 months now. Mainly just lurking and reading here, finding an interesting looking recipe, and just buying the ingredients and hoping it'll be good lol. I've had pretty good success with that. Sometimes I have to slightly tweak the percentages, but other than that it's been awesome.

I also sell to my friends (basically just the cost of the juice and time) not trying to rape them for profit. For example I sell 60ml for $5. And let me tell you...they love it! And really it's all thanks to you guys sharing your beloved mixes. I can't thank you enough! I've saved so much money and found a hobby within a hobby which is always good because it keeps me off the bad stuff.

Anyways, I had a friend ask me to make a Blue Raspberry Cantaloupe flavor. Off of instinct I searched for one and came up with nothing. In fact the blue raspberry flavor itself I seldom see used. And not just the one I use, but any blue raspberry. So I did a bit of research and just jumped the gun and got some OSDIY Blue Raspberry Slush. And for the Cantaloupe I did the same and got FA Melon Cantaloupe.

So without further ado, I present my first recipe made from scratch all by myself! It's really a proud feeling, and I figured it's time to give back to the community :)

Feel free to criticize, good or bad. I'd love any thoughts, comments, or suggestions you may have. Thanks again guys and mix on!

Tropics of Möbius - 80/20

  • OSDIY - Blue Raspberry Slush 8.5%

  • FA - Melon Cantaloupe 3%

  • TFA - Orange Cream 2%

  • TFA - Dragonfruit 1%

  • TFA - Sour 0.5%

Note: Add TFA - Sour to taste. For this first batch I did 5 drops per 15ml, but I'm thinking of doing 2-3 drops per 15ml next batch to compare. Also, I haven't steeped this at all yet. So I'm not sure of any flavor changes or dulling.

Just got some OSDIY Blue Raspberry in, with Silver Cloud on the way. Might have to mix this up. If you're adding TFA Sour, you might want to try adding citric acid instead. It'll dull flavor over time like Sour, but the citrusy sour of citric acid might suit this recipe more than the appley sour that TFA Sour adds.

I absolutely love OSDIY Blue Raspberry Slush, and I've hardly played with it at all.

Yeah I've been meaning to get some Citric Acid. I have another recipe that calls for it as well. As far as this recipe, the Blue Raspberry Slush I think needs to be dropped a % or 2 after vaping it all day yesterday. I also think the Sour needs to go down...or maybe out completely with Citric Acid in it's stead. Thanks for the tip and I hope you enjoy it :)

EDIT: Never heard of Silver Cloud. Is that an OSDIY flavor? What's it's profile?

No, it's a separate flavor company. I'm not sure what it tastes like exactly-- I don't have it yet.
