~~so i have a "never been done before" idea (at least not that i know of). a juice company that sells juice by the bottle for those that don't want to mix AND puts the recipes up for free for those that do. but im not sure the business would sustain itself. I recently thought of the idea of cycling out flavors. keeping the recipe secret for a bit, then releasing the recipe to make room for another. and maybe have a "staple" line of recipes that a aren't released.~~
so apparently it has been done and it is sustainable. witch just makes me want to peruse it that much more.
i havn't been doing DIY for as long as the greats. but in my short time i have surprised myself as well as a few friends that ive sold my juice too. even a friend that owns a juice company in my area offered money for all my recipes (1k for 5 recipes) witch kinda lit a fire under my ass to turn it into a business.
I have thought about just selling my juice at $20/30ml because i think i could actually do it. but i have a passion for open sourced stuff and i know that i would be part of a big problem in the vaping community witch is, over pricing for juice.
i also feel the need to give back to the community that started all of this. almost every day i write up a post of one of my recipes. but i end up not posting because part of me feels like i could be giving away the foundation of a career. anyway, your thoughts on the potential of this plan would be greatly appreciated.

i mix it at 65/35 because im tired of living in vapor. but ive done it at max vg for a friend and its still good. i do a 1hr heat steep for most of my recipes and for this mix, let it sit for at least a week, and its best by almost two weeks in. i leave the cap off until i notice the ring of bubbles at the top are gone.
im not poetic when it comes to explaining why i chose witch flavors, but basically the pie crust and sugar cookie, along with joy makes up the "tart" part. the strawberry could use some experimenting with other companies, ratios and parings. im open to any suggestions. but this does work really well. The meringue, marshmallow, ethyl vanillin and that little powdered sugar note in joy makes up the icing and sweetens the everything at the same time. it may not be a strawberry poptart on the nose, but at the very least it is a strawberry pastry with sugary vanilla icing lol. ENJOY IT.
Been done. Can't remember the name of the company but I'm sure someone will. They make all of their flavors from MF flavorings which are very high quality ACTUAL extracts spoken highly of frequently. They come up with recipes, sell them, and in the description, include their recipe.
I thought about this, exactly like you described; open source juice. I figured it would work because there are lazy people out there with $$$ that don't want the extra hassle of mixing. I also thought about selling the flavour base as well, for people that are half way. You could also sell flavour concentrate bundles, like a one click thing for a recipe and it sticks all the 10ml vials into your cart.
My research was based upon the proven fact that people will pay for convenience, my proof is 7/11 - where I come from, 7/11 is outrageously expensive because its convenient and open later than a supermarket. Fast food, also more expensive then cooking at home yet convenience.. these places are still profitable so I don't see why you can't apply this "convenience" model to ejuice.
The biggest profit from those places come from fountain drinks, coffee, and such. They don't make a huge profit on the food, bottled soda, fuel, or cigs.

I used to work at QuikTrip, and did inventory for my store. A five gallon bag-in-the-box from Pepsi, cost about $55. Our ratio on water to soda syrup, was 5 to 1. One bag-in-the-box would give us twenty-five gallons of soda.
I am not doubting that the idea could work, because people can make soda at home(I do) for next to nothing and still go to QT to grab a Coke, but you'd have to be sure that people would enjoy it.

Just FYI, Gremlin DIY does one-click recipes and premixed concentrates of their liquids.
Am I the only one who actually made this? This stuff is delicious. Subbing FW blueberry with strawberry ripe makes a great blueberry as well. I'm sure a wild/bilberry combo would be good too. This is definitely a best of 2015 recipe. You have to share these gems. The people that are DIYing aren't likely to buy from a juice line they don't know and most people buying finished eliquid aren't going to get into DIY. People talk about Coca Cola being a trade secret but it's really not. I could tell you I had the recipe for Coke and I'd sell it cheaper and you'd likely still buy the original, and Coke wouldn't lose a dime. All this vaping stuff is just constant marketing, and whoever does that best wins. So don't let the idea of someone having your recipes discourage you, you build a brand based off delicious juice like this one and it won't matter.

I'm excited to see more of your recipes. Is this the first you've released? I don't mean to pry but everything about this recipe is perfect, the balance, the flavors, the ratios and percentages. Literally nothing is in here that shouldn't be. The pie crust sugar cookie to make the pastry of it is identical to a poptart, the ripe and sweet strawberry to make the filling is just like a pop tart, and the meringue works great as the frosting. Its just one of those recipes I don't think can be made better and there aren't many like that. If you actually sat down and came up with this recipe you are one of the best mixers on this sub.

No, your link is regular Vanillin. Ethyl Vanillin is a different form of Vanillin, & stronger.
Kinda like Maltol & Ethyl Maltol.
Basically been done and being done. I sell juice, most of my recipes are public, I sell the flavor concentrates as well. My most popular flavor concentrates are recipes that I've posted publicly but they still sell really well.
Nothing fancy here. If you want to start a juice company, do it. Selling the concentrates is just a way to tap into this audience (which is 100x cooler) instead of just the standard vape duchess that buy your product.
