Had some extra budget from the diy bottles I sell at work so figured what the hell, I would buy some juice. I started diy last October and since then I have bought no juice EXCEPT for Philip rocke's Creme de la Creme, which is my all time favorite.
I went there knowing I was going to get JTJM Creme brûlée as that is one I have always had a desire to try, and bought Cuttwood Boss Reserve on a whim. I also tried Philip Rocke's signature line strawberry shortcake flavor, it was surprisingly mediocre.
The Boss Reserve is an excellent juice. They clearly had a good idea with this profile and they couldn't have executed it better. Great stuff. The Creme Brûlée was a a HUGE let down, it's so mediocre I can not believe the hype it has (or had perhaps, I'm out of the vendor loop these days). The banana accent that I have seen described as a "hint" and "undertone" many many times was very evident to me and was that classic candy banana flavor that has long been an issue for diy'ers longing for fresh banana goodness.
Was a great reminder, albeit a $40 one, that there is more creativity and talent on this sub that can allow me to have a closet full of over a dozen 120ml bottles filled to the brim with adv worthy juices at a cost of pennies a ml when the .75-1.00 a ml bottles on store shelves aren't even a bit better. You guys are awesome, thanks for the contributions have made, me and my girl and my bank account all appreciate it more than a know!
Super huge let down, I've definitely been there man. I'll rarely order a couple new flavors from TVC only because he was my main juice provider a couple years ago, and even those are kind of a let down.
I hear ya. I went to a Vape expo in Ann Arbor MI in early 2015 and was excited knowing JTJM was gonna be there. Finally I would get to try the famed Creme brûlée and shurb! Sadly all he had was 250ml bottles and no samples, so I couldn't bring myself to drop the $ on that huge bottle. Now I'm glad I didn't
That seems like poor sales strategy not having other size bottles and offering no samples.
I'm with you there. Was a huge fan, and I still am at some sort of an ideological level, but it's just too perfumey.
That said, it kinda works in his favor. At least for me. I try and vape some and get nauseous at the strength, so I just let it sit for upwards of a month. Much better.
Still, I'm quite a bit more picky about his products than I used to be.
JTJM lost all of its quality when it started being sold to distributers. Just like space jam and suicide bunny.
What does this mean? They sold their recipe and the distributors produce it and put the JTJM label on it?
Yeah, they essentially handed over all of their QC to a third party distributor. That's why Space Jam went from being in 1 B&M per city to being in every head shop around. That's also why their quality completely dropped off around a year and a half ago.
He use to do it himself, then wolfpack, then some other one, now Triton.
It seems to be back to it's glory and bottling and mixing is back under control.
Many B&M's still have the old stock and identifiable by the lighter bottles. This juice is flawed and what JMTM has been trying to recover from
The only JTJM I liked was the strawberry peach flavor.... But only to buy two bottles before I got over it.
Some of the best mainstream juice out there at the moment that taste good, has good quality ingredients, and a decent price point IMO is the One Hit Wonder stuff. 180ml bottle of juice sitting in a nice tube packaging, plus two 15ml unicorn bottle with full labels on them inside to transfer for portability (and skinny tips to fill tanks with), all for $60!! That $10 each 30ml's. The Rocket Man flavor I picked up is amazing. The bottle even states what kind of nicotine they use; which is TruNic. Don't see that much these days.
Not a ton of shops carry it so far, but a few in my area are starting to. Their the company that also makes Muffin Man, and Milk Man (not the milk man that comes in the milk carton box). I hope more shops start picking it up, because it's an amazing deal.
To get the same amount of premium juice at a shop it would set you back $130-$145.... So One Hit Wonder is less that half, comes with two unicorn bottles, and also informs you what nicotine is used. This trend needs to catch on. They have a website you can order directly from as well if your shops don't carry it.
I have Muffin Man and Rocket Man at home. Muffin Man destroys my coils like they owe it money, but that is probably from all the sweetness in it.
I wish more juice lines were upfront about what is in them. Tell me the type of nicotine you use, along with the actual flavors in it Great, the juice is called Space Ghost, but that tells me nothing about what is in it. Put a little on the side that tells what the flavor profile is.
I bought a sampler from some highly recommended juice company, I do not recall the name. I threw 3 of the 5 out. The other two I found underwhelming. I often will try vendor liquids, and usually I am surprised at how bad they are. There is way more marketing than formulating going on in the business.
