So I'm a long-time lurker here that's been DIY'ing for about 9 months now, actually about to launch a house juice at the shop I manage shortly. I messaged /u/flavorah on here, asking about the discount code they had a little while ago. I never got a response, but decided to pull the trigger anyway after reading some reviews on here, putting a brief explanation in my order notes.
I received my flavor order today...of FLV's whole line, after only ordering 5 flavors. It just really made my day, and thought they deserved some recognition for doing something so cool. So thanks! Hopefully this gives my custards the....je ne sais quoi I've been looking for. I can't wait to give these a try, and thanks again! Anyone have recommendations for flavor percentages on these things?
Already tried out the Vanilla Custard and Strawberry. I have to get in touch with whomever does their wholesale orders. The hype is fucking real. Shake and vape this stuff is phenomenal.
I'm happy for you, but the problem with posts like this is it creates an unreasonable expectation for the vendor. The next guy who orders 5 flavors and doesn't get the bonanza is going to feel short-changed.
Anyway, please contribute to the FLV thread once you have some solid mixes down.
That's not my intention. Anyone that orders EXPECTING free shit deserves to be disappointed. Look, I pulled the trigger because of reviews I read on here, straight up. Not because I expected anything for free. And like I stated in the post, had just received, so didn't really have time to mess around too much.
Although after just shake and vaping a simple recipe with the Vanilla Custard and Strawberry...I already know I'll be dealing with this company for a long time. My intent wasn't to be like "hey look, I got free shit," it was to genuinely thank and make known a cool gesture another vaper did for me, same as if someone selling me a mod threw in a bottle of juice or something.
I got a lot of recipes in the FLV Recipes thread, and a whole lot more in my log waiting for me to get around to posting them/finishing them.
I've been a big supporter of theirs, literally since launch -- not just because of their CS & amazing support of the DIY community, but also because I think their businesses like FLV that supply flavorings only to vaping is our best defense against potentially dangerous flavoring chemicals in the long run.
/u/flavorah has the most incentive of any flavoring supplier to formulate vape-safe flavors, respond to community concerns about disclosure & safety, and to make decisions in the best interests of the vaping market long-term. They've already demonstrated a willingness to interact with the community and hear our feedback on a level that no other vendor does, except perhaps Linda @ TFA, who is also awesome & another ally of ours. Welcome to the fold. =)
Did you get rich cinnamon? It is seriously the best cinnamon smell I have ever had. If you use it in mixes, start very low, I don't know if it's all the other gingerbread shit or what, but don't go higher than 2 percent on it depending on the recipe, you get a really "make your face hot" cinnamon flavor, I have started keeping it at .75%. It's dope ass cinnamon don't get me wrong, I don't know if I want to even try my other cinnamon flavors after having it. I really want to try some of their other stuff, let me know what happens.
2%????!!!!
Holy crap that's a ton of Rich Cinnamon. I use like one drop per 30ml and I'm good!
I'd recommend giving them a shout out for making such great flavors, instead of giving you free shit haha. I don't focus on the freebies they give out, just do my best to give unbiased tasting notes and recommendations to help expand their customer base. Almost all of their stuff is spot-on, the only flavor that hasn't really pleased me is their black cherry. But then again, black cherry is pretty hard to make using aroma volatiles, and no manufacturer really makes a great black cherry.
How's FA black cherry?
None of them have that bold, almost floral sweetness that I taste in real black cherries. I may be in the minority with my opinion on black cherry flavors, but they all taste like fresh dental work? Like I just got done getting a filling.
See my reply to the top comment.
They apparently changed their black cherry. When did you get your bottle? I just ordered mine today.
Have you had the v2? Cause they're very different. v1 was pretty medicinal, but v2 is on par with FA's I think. Black cherry is a tough flavor (as it seems is regular cherry), which is really too bad.
its the benzaldehyde that is hard to get around. Not good to inhale, but really a key part of a cherry flavor note.
Yeah I figured the cherry flavor had a pivotal volatile that was hard to work with, I don't even like cherry flavored juices, I was just mentioning the ONE example that I've not been really impressed with from you guys. Everything else absolutely has a place in my mixes. I fawned over the creams and cereals you guys added in the past 3 months in my latest post.
PS Rich cinnamon is worth way more than 12.75, I made a 10% dilution of half the bottle and still can only use a few drops per 10mL. It's a phenomenal cinnamon, the best out there by far.
