Anyone have a good Margarita Recipe?
submitted about 10 years ago by Eiaas

I love Covals Lime Margarita, unfortunately they don't ship directly where I live and other sources are expensive as hell so this is basically the last juice I am spending money on since I DIY everything else.

I'd really love to mix some Margarita myself but so far I got nowhere. Tried a few lime/lemon combinations but nothing comes even close to Covals.

Does anyone have a good recipe?

EDIT: Thanks for the great response! Ill update this if I whip up something that comes close to what I am looking for!

Try playing with either:

FW Margarita

TFA Citrus Punch

Thanks, I know about FW but it's kinda hard to get or not at all available here in germany/eu.

So I was hoping somebody has a good way to mix it up from the ground.

TFA Citrus punch does not, to me, taste anything like a margarita. You can use FW Margarita as a decent base if you don't want to make a recipe from scratch. I would highly recommend Flavor Art Key Lime Cold Press for the main lime flavor, adding TFA Mandarin and TFA Quince if you like a more balanced citrus note

I don't have a shaker, can I put the ingredients in a baby and shake that?

You could but I'm pretty sure there is some syndrome leakage and that tends to mess with the flavor profile.

I'be been playing around going after same juice... Just got some FA cold pressed lime and orange. I'm sure there is saline in the coval recipe.

I finally tried one of the mixes I made with the Amoretti Margarita and holy fuckballs was it strong! I still need to try again at maybe 0.50% or even 0.25% but it definitely smelled and tasted like tequila/margarita

The coval is VERY light. Same with Blast. Keep percentages way low.

No saline

surprising. have no idea how you get that subtle salty note then o.O though its about azeroth time again [coval is the only commercial brand i still buy] :D fall is almost upon us! wish you offered 1mg. going to suck having to buy 3mg+0mg but i guess lasts twice as long.

The salty note was not easy to make, that's for sure. Glad you're enjoying them and thank you for the support!
Our new line, Rezul, has 1.5mg as an option. Going below 3mg is difficult to do accurately - we may add 1.5mg in the future for Coval if there was a strong enough demand. Sorry for the inconvenience

Thats was I was thinking as well. Only problem is I never played with Saline before and I think this is what makes the recipe. Did you experiment with Saline before?

I haven't gotten the courage to try yet...

Ja me neither.. I read mixed opinions on using it, though I have a feeling that it would actually round up some of my recipes especially the Gimlet I am working on, so maybe its time to give it a shot!

so here is what i ended up with [maxVG, 97.75% what???!!]

FA Lime Tahiti Cold Pressed 1.25%

FA Orange 0.5%

LA Bourbon 0.5% [only "alcohol" i had to play with]

came out pretty decent. going to order some FA Brandy to sub, but decent starting point... good enough i will kill this 10mL of it tonight i bet. missing that salty note though.

FA lime tahiti(~1.5%), some FA passionfruit(~2%), 2% Ethyl Maltol (10% solution), and a drop or two of FA strawberry. Not sure if TFA is available in germany, but if it is, replace FA strawbery with TFA strawberry and get cotton candy(not circus) as a 10% EM solution. You can try adding a few drops INW Kaktus to make it wetter tasting.

Thanks, I'll try this when I get home. Funny thing is everything BUT Flavor West is available in a huge number of shops so I have a pretty good FA and TFA stock at home.

Yeah FA lime tahiti is close to margarita flavor alone, just add some passionfruit or mangosteen+champagne flavor for a tequila note.

cold pressed or distilled? i just got cold pressed in and havent had a chance to try it. have distilled and it tastes like something but i cant put my finger on it... very strong though.

I have distilled, and haven't tried cold pressed so I'm not sure of the difference.

I made a weird strawberry margarita flavor consisting of: INW Cactus, FW Prickley Pear and INW Sparkling Wine.

Those all pair well for a strange margarita flavor. It wasn't amazing but it certainly tasted like a alcoholic fruity beverage.

Good luck! Also, where do you live? We may have a reseller near you if all else fails

I am in southern Bavaria! Unfortunately the prices charged in europe for your juices are way above what you charge in the US, which are fair imo. So this is way I just stopped buying them since I just cannot justify 15€ per 30ml and then just vape it in 2 days :(

by prokreatabout 10 years ago

oh, BTW... if you have a chance to obtain Coval Lime Margarita, pick up some Blast with it, the two together are FANTASTIC! i might go buy some tomorrow now thinking about it.

1 points

by Eiaasabout 10 years ago

I never tried blast! And I can obtain it any time, I just don't want to since its way to expensive. The US prices would be alright but not what they charge in Europe.

But maybe I just give it a go to get the two together. Thanks for the recommendation!

If they let you drip test in B&M worth trying out. Coval is not as expensive as most lines in US, I guess you have import taxes.

I know they make good liquid tried some other stuff as well, I just can't justify the price, I vape a lot since I use only RTAs and RDAs. I get to 30ml a day some days, so its DIY for me or I am spending more then I did on cigarettes.
