I wanted to take a break from my creations and switch back to commercial juice for a bit, to reset my palette and ... uh oh.
I buy better nic than the producer of the "premium" juice I used to vape. I can taste it!
None of you told me I couldn't get off this train once I got on it. :)
I still have half a 50 mil of my old ADV. I used to buy it from a local B&M and it was at one time the only juice I seemed to never get sick of. About a week ago, out of curiosity, I decided to throw it in my tank to see how my home made stuff held up to my old favorite juice.
Took one puff, and HOLY FUCK THEY USE A TON OF GODDAMN SWEETENER. Managed to stick with it for all of ten minutes before I couldn't do it anymore. Bleh.
I felt exactly the same way last time I had stuff from TVC. It was so sweet and perfumey it made me nauseous. Granted, after steeping on my desk for a month, it settled down quite a bit and was absolutely fine. But I'm so used to shake and vape that it was pretty startling.
Yeah dude, it's crazy -- half the juice I buy (and I'm picky about what I sample) Is a crushing disappointment to me these days. I often buy highly-reviewed juice in flavor profiles I'm working on to try & find inspiration when I've hit a wall, and a lot of the time I find my shitty incomplete mix is already as good or better than the JuiceDB chart-topper I just bought.
It seems like everyone and their mother and their mothers mother is trying to start a juice company. 99% of the ones I sample I am disgusted with and could even sit down to the guy and explain why using 10% TFA brown sugar is a bad idea; It's that obvious! Inexperienced people trying to make a dollar.
I agree, and you really can't even trust reviews because most people reviewing juice have no basis to make most judgements.
I just made my first batch and, compared to the stuff I've been buying made by the local B&M, it's much better. The local shop was hit and miss. Some stuff was decent and some was unpleasant. They have bad quality control. I never tried "premium" juice so I can't compare. I can tell though that I'm going to have a hard time buying juice again. At least if I make a bad batch I'm only wasting a buck.
Go for a company called Crave Essence. They are organic. Really natural flavours. A nice break from the DIY. Those are the only I buy besides my creations. And if you feel like it, they sell their own concentrate as well. /u/craveessence
