I posted this on the August monthly recipe thread:

Here's a simple chocolate chip cookie recipe I've been working on:

Grandma's chocolate chip cookie

Cinnamon Sugar Cookie (TFA) - 5%

Cookie (FA) - 2%

Fudge Brownie (TFA) - 2%

White Chocolate (TFA) - 2%

Vanilla Custard v2 (CAP) - 4%

Butter (FA) - 0.5%

A cookie flavor comes out in front with a touch butter and vanilla with a balanced chocolate finish. It even has a warm feel too it, like a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie. I hope you like it and am always open to suggestions!

Mine will be slightly different but I'll be damned if yours doesn't sound good.

I'm going for hints of coffee and mocha with a strong chocolate base accompanied with the full mouth feel of buttery and sweet soft baked cookie... or I hope

Not bad -- Chocolate Chip Cookie is a flavor I've been avoiding even attempting because it's a real challenge.

Here's a recipes that doesn't look totally useless for you to use in your quest:

0.5% FA Caramel

0.5% TFA Brown sugar extra

0.5% FA Coconut

Would love to find one as well. Thought about just sending chocolate chip cookies to GC/MS and look for the big leaks but I'm certain the big peaks are 3 or 4 really bad aroma volatiles for vaping.

Which peaks would those be?

What do you consider a perfect chocolate chip cookie?

I have a personal recipe for actual cookies that I've refined again and again for over a year now (they're the best I've ever tasted) and I'm going to try to emulate it the best I can.

Here's mine. It's the shit.

Recipe - Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup packed DARK brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (the real kind, not that imitation crap)
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons HOT water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 bag (you know, the regular size ones) semisweet chocolate chunks - 2 cups if you're chopping them yourself
  • 1 or 2 cups of shredded coconut
  1. Preheat your oven. 350 degrees.

  2. Cream the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar. Do this until it's smooth and uniform.

  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time. Throw your vanilla in there too.

  4. Put two teaspoons of hot water in a little cup or something, then add your teaspoon of baking soda. Stir it up so it dissolves, then dump it in the mix. Add the salt as well.

  5. Add in your flour. If you're using a mixer, you're gonna want to do this slowly and pulse the mixer. Unless you like your entire kitchen covered in flour.

  6. Stir in your chocolate chunks and coconut.

  7. Don't make a bunch of perfect balls. Just grab blobs of dough and plop it on an ungreased pan. The cookies look way cooler that way. You'll figure out the ideal size. Bake for 10-14 minutes or so depending on the size, your oven, how you like them. You'll figure it out.

  8. Give those bitches some cookies. Bitches love cookies.

I can give you some but the recipe is only for family, and even then I've been told it doesn't come out right when they make it... and here I thought I made it idiot proof. /shrugs oh well

Hard to say because I've never seen an analysis of chocolate chip cookie but bready and thick mouthfeel volatiles tend to be not kosher for vaping.

The smell of cookies baking is amazing but I wonder what happens to the lungs of workers in cookie factories! I know coffee roasters are concerned about it.

Cookie lung now? What the fuck.

I'm a baker too! Damn it.

I might as well just load up on some diacetyl and enjoy delicious juice if I'm fucked anyways...

> the big peaks

What does this mean?

by abdadaabout 10 years ago

GC/MS analysis give results as peaks that need to be interpreted.

Interpret...how much of a certain molecule/volatile is in the flavoring?

How about:

  • 2% Cookie FA

  • 1% Chocolate FA

?

These are my cookies of choice. Does not degrade by aging, too.

Flavor west milk chocolate is actually really smooth. Definitely worth a try

Capella double chocolate tastes legit to me, definitely doesn't have that sort of overcooked tastes I keep getting from coffee, milk, and chocolate flavors.

I am really interested by this thread, I have been trying to make a good chocolate chip cookie for ages and unfortunately HIC's recipe doesn't make it for me :(
