/s off im actually vaping bronuts right now please don't get butthurt downvoters
To all my bro's. #Bronuts 2: Bro-ier and Nuttier is coming along pretty well. I can not tell you the main ingredients yet because I have 4 different batches all with waivering main flavors. Sorry. But there's not only Strawberry glazed but Blueberry Lemon glazed. Yes...I'm a mad man.
I KNEW I STARTED THIS THREAD FOR A REASON!!! Knowing you, cap glazed wont be in it... But if you can make that flavor work ill put all your bro nuts in my mouth
So I think cap glazed donut is one of those flavors that grows on you. At first I hated it but now I like it.. here's how I've been usi it lately: all Capella
- Cake Batter @ 2%
- French Toast @ 1%
- Glazed Donut @ 6%
- INW Raspberry @ 0.25
- Sweet Cream @ 2%
It definitely needs pairings. I wonder how that cake batter fairs with it as that seems to push through at 2%. I've been using it at 5.5% so right around the same mark as you. It needs body but Yellow Cake isn't exactly what I'm looking for with it. Not sure to be honest.
does anyone think bronuts is harsh? I made it as the recipe recommended & it is harsher than 30/70 should be.
Also do you guys get good flavor from this recipe? The first day I made this the chocolate was faint but there but now I cant really taste anything.
some people are having this issue with the flavor. Some say too much chocolate some say not enough. I'm thinking there is a real fuck up in terms of flavoring. I'm looking into why. You should be getting an accurate fresh baked donut with a waxy chocolate glaze, sweet, fluffy, and very very full. No harshness at all.
Mine is really harsh and I mixed at 70/30 VG/PG 3mg I wonder if some of the flavours have alcohol in them?
I really want to know why its harsh because the reason I started DIY was because I was sick of harsh liquids.
I let it sit for 3 days & it is a bit better but still harsh. I don't know if the flavors have alcohol in them but If they don't I think 1 or more of these flavors are naturally harsh. I suspect its the glazed donut because it is the highest % in the mix.
Mixed mine Max vg and that throat hit is horrible
Mixed a 10ml last night and tried it after shaking a couple hours. Picked up the mod without looking and had to make sure I didn't grab the Placid by mistake. Harsh with little flavor, 30/70 like all my liquids. Hoping it gets better after steeping.
Honestly i am having the same problem as you. It smells good but tastes like unflavored with a bit of "something". I'm not sure if my taste-buds suck or I fucked up but I am sure I measured & weighed everything correctly.
To me, it smells a lot like a sweet, bready something. Taste was closer to muddled citrus something. I'm sure I mixed it correctly unless /u/enyawreklaw uses specific gravities instead of 1g/ml. Every weight was within 0.01g of what it needed to be. Dunno.
I also can't taste Strawberry and Bavarian Cream is like steeped, sweaty gym socks. Maybe Bronuts is something else that doesn't taste right for me.
Yup same with mine, although just after shaking mine it tasted great, all I could taste was the chocolate but it tasted good anyway. After leaving it over-night it turned harsh as fuck on the exhale. Gives me heartburn for a couple of minutes after the last drag of it, no taste at all either.
I'm thinking it could be the bottle leeching into the juice, using PET atm will have to try LDPE. What are you using?
Or our my tastebuds were overloaded, probably not because I can taste all my other juices fine.
hmm i use amber glass 120ml bottles. I make 90 at a time so I have a lot of room to shake. When I vape it now I taste unflavored juice with a hint of "something" . I am not sure whats going on. Maybe my tastebuds just suck but I don't think thats going on.
Ok bottles are probably not the problem then, mine is really foamy at the surface, yours? I'm having the exact same problem, like vaping unflavored. I'm so sad because it smells so fucking amazing in my rda and the vapor smells really good too, but I'm not feeling any taste at all ;''((((
Good grief, I thought it was just me! I've been ordering mostly 20/80 premade stuff (TBD, etc), and just started to DIY by weight this week. I mixed a 30ml batch of the Bavarian Cream style @ 30/70 3mg and could feel a burn at the back of my throat. Mixed another from the 'original' recipe @ 20/80 and it was just as bad. Heartland Nic @ 48mg, shaken well of course. I'm going to try a max VG mix of CGD @ 5% to see if it's the culprit - really disappointed, though =/
EDIT: Ordered all flavors, PG & VG from Bull City on 9/17..
/r/BIY hasn't been used in a year, could petition reddit admins to remove the inactive mod & make you/me/whoever the active mod.
hmmmmm
Its going to be forever til I get all the ingredients. But I'll be patient. I want bronuts in my mouth. Wait.....no nope I'll stick to it.
GremlinDIY.com should have everything now.
I've been compulsively checking back. But thanks for the heads up.
I know that FA just shipped it out - apparently they didn't get the Joy they were supposed to get on Friday, we'll see. FA seems to be dicking them a bunch - poor guys! I hope they are expediting the shipment for all the hassle they've put them through.
I'm waiting on my bottle of joy from them which will hopefully get out to me on Friday. Shoutout to my boys /u/gremlinjuice for taking care of me. Will give them a fantastic review when the whole ordeal is over. They definitely deserve all of my DIY money and if they get it in stock by the time you need to order, I highly recommend using them.
Bronuts just isn't happening for me. I ordered some INW Biscuit from Gremlin two Thursdays ago. USPS was supposed to deliver it this past Friday, but it just didn't come, then Saturday came and went. Sunday, tracking finally shows that it arrived in my city. Monday was a holiday. FINALLY, IT'S TUESDAY!!
I run home on my lunch break, super giddy to just get my hands on Biscuit...... to find my mailbox laying on the ground. LAYING ON THE GROUND. Someone had run over it between 7:30 this morning and around noon. Miss USPS decided that because my mailbox was smashed, she would mark the package as "undeliverable as addressed." I called my post office and talked to Shanteefa and she said she would try to find the package before it is sent back.
NO BRONUTS FOR ME!!
Just placed my first Gremlin order and have the last 2 ingredients on the way. Double win. I'll be sure to come back and bitch about how it isn't as good as I thought it would be. Alternatively, if no one ever hears from me again, I've either died from a vapegasm or went off in the night to kidnap Wayne so's I don't have to mix any more. Don't worry, I'll take good care of him.
I made a 70 vg, 2mg batch and loaded it up into an ijust 2 tank. First time ever using the tank. I find it really harsh on the exhale. Weird. I used FA cookie instead of biscuit since I don't have biscuit yet. What do you think is causing the harshness? I might try it in my kanger subtank to see if it's the same. It is really the only juice I've ever made that is harsh like that so I dont believe it's my pg, vg or nic. Maybe the .3 coil?
FA Cookie is not a good substitute for Biscuit in Bronuts. I should know, I tried it both ways since I got everything else for the recipe three days before Biscuit showed up.
On a more related note, I imagine you cleaned the tank very thoroughly before using it? That's the only thought I've got, because while the Cookie version of Bronuts was not as good, it wasn't exactly harsh.

UPS just left. Whipped up 50ml @ 3mg nic. Filled the Matrix. Wow.....amazing. Simply amazing.
Uhhhh... What's that mod? Yanno, for science...
Since this thread is here, and searching reddit and google hasn't been very productive...
I bought my nicotine in 24mg all PG, because I usually vape 12mg.. Wasn't the wisest decision looking back on it, but anyways... Would changing the PG/VG ratios of Bronuts drastically alter the flavor? I see where 30/70 is recommended, but I'd rather have higher than 4mg nicotine. :\
> Would changing the PG/VG ratios of Bronuts drastically alter the flavor?
I wouldn't say drastically, but generally you need a bit more flavor for higher VG juice
Love the Boston Cream variant enough that I haven't made the regular version, just mixed up 200ml for me, 100 ml for friends, and 150ml for the vape shop guys. Everyone is a fan so far, except my wife which will literally only vape mint (straight mint, that's it). Actually she said it was decent.
What is the oust VG/pg ratio for bronuts? I like max VG for clouds
Original recipe is great max vg (if you're using a high powered setup) just add 2% bav cream and let it steep 3 days or give it a warm bath (this is important as vg doesn't like to mix well with bronuts)
So don't add 20%? Because someone is telling me to add 20% To each ingredient
20% of total flavoring, so if its 10% you'd add 2%(20% of 10%) making it 12%. You can, but if you're on a high powered device I assure you it's not necessary! More flavoring can really mess up recipes, especially after steeping. For instance bavarian cream steeps and changes quite a bit so it's best not to increase it too much. Same with yellow cake, after steeping it overpowers other flavors.
If you're gonna do max vg, I would say increase flavoring by 20% and add 1% distilled water.
i want to try bronuts, someday. Maybe when the fad ends? or when its so eternal that its always stocked.
OK I got all the stuff to make it and first batch tasted way alcohol. Dunno what I did wrong, did a quick ghetto "steep" to burn off excess perfume flavors and still tasted bad. Any tips for a new diy'er would be fantastic
To be honest I found the original a bit dry, and couldn't really get the hype. Then I tried it with 2% TFA bavarian cream and wow had to whip up a 120ml batch right now. Love the stuff.
The bavarian cream iteration (sorry can't remember who came up with it) to me tastes like ; http://www.foodnculture.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/chocolate-eclair-376.jpg
