Help with TFA Apple (Tart Granny Smith)

I've been trying to make a cool apple flavor and I somehow stumbled upon TFA's Granny Smith Apple. I used the following reciple 13% TFA Granny Smith Apple 3% Dragon Fruit 1% Koolada 1 drop of sour per 10ml.

It taste like crap. I'm gonna guess that the TFA Granny Smith is much too perfumy. Unfortunately I purchased a large amount of this flavor, so I have two questions.

what can I do with the TFA Granny Smith?
Does anyone have a recipe for a cool apple flavor?

I hadn't worked much with tfa Granny Smith Apple, but I can tell you 13% is what's causing this. It's pretty potent. Cut that in half and work for there.

My favorite Apple is a combination of FA Fuji and FA Apple with a small amount of FA Pear.

I'm really no expert on this I'm basically a new DIYer but I did see a post about letting the flavoring breathe. They said you could take the top off of it and leave it off overnight just like you would do a perfumey ejuice.

From all my years of mixing and vaping, i have yet to come across a realistic (or even good) apple flavor. they all taste either way too perfumey or like old socks to me. The only one which has come even close to being vapable to me is FA Fuji, and even then as a supporting flavor. As a main it kind of falls flat as well, quickly becoming overly perfumey. I love apples, they are by far my favorite fruit, and that's why this makes me sad. If however you are determined to try with green apple, i would suggest dropping the percentage way low, perhaps something between 2-6%. Best of luck!

Try the Tfa flavor called "green apple." It's really good. I posted my favorite recipe to use with it on this thread if you want to check it out!

TFA Green Apple is super strong. I've been getting good results combining 1% TFA Green Apple with about 2.5% FA Fuji Apple.

Granny Smith is actually a complete crap flavor imo. Tfa makes a much much better one called "green apple" that tastes like the green jolly ranchers. I have a fantastic flavor that I make with it that I will share. All Tfa: 6% green apple, 4% lemon, 3% raspberry (sweet), 3 % blueberry candy, 2% sour. I'm not a fan of menthol but I'm sure you could add koolada. Also, 13% is a lot of any one flavor to add to a juice.

Tried that one out a few months ago on a whim, after many attempts I gave up on it, it ruined everything it was added to no matter the amount.

That flavor shut my lungs down. I have a whole bottle now in am going to dump. Been playing with FA Fuji and INW Apple TDM. Fantastic together.

It's not a tart granny smith apple flavor, it's a granny smith apple tart flavor. As in the pastry. It works well in apple pie flavors, and with ice cream, but it's not a good fruit flavor. It has spices and other flavors that won't work well with what you're doing. Also, 13% is a bit high, 5-6% works with this flavor. Add some graham cracker, some custard or other creams, and a cinnamon pastry flavor and you have a decent apple pie.

For a cool apple, look for TFA green apple, FLV green apple, or FA apple. FA fuji is the best apple flavor, but it's not as good with menthol because it is a less candy-like flavor.

Ahh. This makes a ton of sense. the spices make a ton of sense as well. I'll pick up some custards or creams and try to work more of an apple pie flavor with this.

Yeah I bought all 3 apple flavors. HS apple mix also works well as an apple pastry main flavor.

Haven't used TFA Granny Smith, I have used their Candy Apple and Green Apple and they're both crap IMO. Way too harsh and chemically/perfumey.

TFA Apple is an OK apple flavour, it's more of a indistinct fleshy flavour though.

If you're going for a candy-like green apple, FW Green Apple is awesome I reckon.

As for your questions:

Try it as a standalone at different percentages and see if you can get anything out of it.
Your recipe looks like it should be OK, you just need to get the right apple flavour at the right percentage. Personally I'd bump the Koolada up to 2% but that's personal preference.
