About AUD$300 (includes a few syringes, and a bridgeless atty). Should keep me going though!

AUD!! Are they all FA? What vendors did you use? I'm organising my first orders now, looking like I'll need at least 3 domestic and two international orders :/

1 points

by Plonqorabout 10 years agoProud Sidebar Reader!

All FA, kept it simple everything is from vapoureyes. Using vaping underground forums for recipes and there are lots of FA only ones there.

by crappy_guitaristabout 10 years agoProud Sidebar Reader!

I'm jealous... I can't decide on flavors

2 points

by Plonqorabout 10 years agoProud Sidebar Reader!

Yeah, all I knew is I didn't like most of the dessert/baked flavours I've tried... so I bought like all the fruity flavours I could plus some versatile ones like menthol, peppermint, cream.

1 points

by monkcarryshitabout 10 years ago

What fruity combinations are you going to try?

2 points

by Plonqorabout 10 years agoProud Sidebar Reader!

ALL of them! But anything fruity menthol. Once I get citric and malic acid I'll start experimenting. Really want a green/sour apple.

Also, what kind of scale did you get?

1 points

by Plonqorabout 10 years agoProud Sidebar Reader!

This one that I found on this subreddit. Would have got the american weigh scales one but it either didn't ship to Aus or cost like $40 for shipping.

by Khroomabout 10 years ago

Why the scale? I just got into juice making, and I use mL and an autopippet. Is there some benefit to using the liquids weight instead of volume?

3 points

by Plonqorabout 10 years agoProud Sidebar Reader!

From everything I've read around here, weighing seems faster, easier, and more accurate. Not to mention less cleanup.

I find it easier, and so do many others....https://www.reddit.com/r/DIY_eJuice/comments/2iq3km/botboy141_guide_to_mixing_by_weight/?ref=search_posts

Nice, even cheaper that some I've been looking into. It looks like it only runs on batteries ... Will it stay "on" until you shut it off? Or does it turn itself off after X amount of minutes? The ones I was looking at were battery and plug in, it would stay in indefinitely if plugged in, but had a time limit when on battery power.

I'm still trying to figure out what "weight" to get.... Like the ones I'm looking at come in 500g, 1000g, and 3000g. It's the LB serious by American Weight Scales. I'm assuming the weight differences are the max the scale can weight? Still a little unclear on that (maybe the difference is the tray size that sits on the scale). If anyone can answer that question I'd be greatly appreciative. I was recommended the LB-500. 500 grams is about one pound, which would be fine for small or even 12ml glass bottles. But I picked up a bunch of large glass beakers and glass graduated cylinders for large batches, and I'm thinking they would go over 500 grams in weight..... So I'm thinking the 1000, or 3000 would be better. The 1000 and 3000 are actually cheaper than the 500, which makes me even more confused as what to get and why.

Nice set up though.... So far I've dumped $150 on all kinds of bottles, racks, glass wear, syringes, pippets, gloves, etc. maybe went s bit overboard. So now I'm saving money for nicotine and flavores. Sucks looking at all these gear but not being able to use any yet.

On the product page it says it has a 120 second auto turn off function.

To answer your other question, get the 500 gram scale if you're talking about the one recommended from this sub. It's important it weighs a gram to the one hundredth. That's why the 500 is more expensive. You're going to have a harder time being accurate with one of the other ones.

I see no Vienna Cream. I see a new order placed in the near future.

1 points

by Plonqorabout 10 years agoProud Sidebar Reader!

Yeah so do I. Waiting until they get in more flavours then I'll do another order. Want blueberry and blackcurrant.

Does anyone else not enjoy those tops? I guess if you are doing it by weight they are great but i need to fight a syringe in there. How the fuck do i get the top off! Now i need to by dram bottles to restore and relabel their stuff? ):

1 points

by Plonqorabout 10 years agoProud Sidebar Reader!

Yeah great for weight! You can get the whole tops off, just squeeze them.

1 points

by Neddihabout 10 years agoMixologist

Not trying to be a dick, but don't you get tired of cleaning dozens of syringes every time you mix?

1 points

by onmywaydownnowabout 10 years agoMixologist

Nah works well for me. I don't mind I guess. But I also don't mix 4 or 10 bottles at a time. Most I will make is two typically.

1 points

by chewymidgetabout 10 years ago

> dozens of syringes

I only use two when I mix by volume...

1 points

by Neddihabout 10 years agoMixologist

You don't use a different syringe for every flavor?

2 points

by monkey804about 10 years ago

Make sure your scale is calibrated. Mine came way off.

1 points

by Plonqorabout 10 years agoProud Sidebar Reader!

Yeah first thing I did was calibrate it :)

2 points

by mentiveabout 10 years ago

That's a lot of FA! you're going to really enjoy mixing, and good job on starting with weight and not volume. No cleanups!

1 points

by JustSayNoToDiacetylabout 10 years ago

You really like FA.

1 points

by Plonqorabout 10 years agoProud Sidebar Reader!

Only brand that's easily available locally (Aus). At least afaik.

1 points

by a_randomless_chefabout 10 years agoTobacconist

Great choice, don't even give it second thoughts. I'm slowly leaving the TFA fad forever. Honorable mentions (as plain single mixes): M&P and SnG. You'll get to try them sooner or later I hope.

1 points

by Plonqorabout 10 years agoProud Sidebar Reader!

Yeah I'm not mad, from what I read, FA are great, and the high concentration means they'll last longer too. Can you elaborate on m&p and s&g ?

1 points

by New_usernames_r_hardabout 10 years ago

Where did you get the FA stuff locally? Cheers

You can get CAP, TFA/TPA, FW domestically too dude. Will link when I get to work if you like?

Yeah I realise that, and might need to for a few specific flavours. But I'm really liking FA.

Nope, I make 50/50 mixes. The big bottles are 50/50.
