Baja Mas a Baja Blast tribute.
submitted about 10 years ago by halld84

Long time lurker. I've finally put together something that I feel is worthwhile to give back to this community.

Baja Mas v1:
10% TFA Citrus Punch (Mtn. Dew)
5% TFA Blueberry Wild
3% TFA Champagne **
2% TFA Key Lime
1% Citric Acid (DiY 10% in PG)

Inspired by Keitare's Baja Blast v2 recipe on ELR.

This is a really good representation of Mountain Dew Baja Blast.

Out of 8 people that I've asked to do a "blind vape test" only one did not immediately say Baja Blast, and he's never had it before.

The champagne could be omitted, it just tastes like its gone flat.
**03SEP15: As /u/8orangepuma8 pointed out, the champagne percentage is a little high. I haven't dealt with champagne much, but based on his comment this flavor may develop much more with steeping and overpower the recipe. V1.1 may reduce this ratio.

That's a mad amount of champagne! After a week steep I bet that is strong!!! I have kept cutting my champagne usage down every time I use it and I'm down to. About .75-1.0 % for whatever I use it in. Looks like it would be a tasty vape though!

Thanks so much for this! It tastes right now, but that's only after a shake and a 2 hour 150°F bath.

I will definitely update as it develops.

I did this with about the same ratios and it's close but still off a bit. I don't have my exact ratios on hand, but if I recall, I did:

  • 8% TFA Citrus Punch
  • 8% TFA Blueberry Wild
  • 1% TFA Key Lime
  • .5% TFA Champagne

It's good, but not quite Baja Blast. I have played with small amounts of Cantaloupe, Coconut, Mango, Papaya, and also Hawaiian Drink. (no) Surprisingly, the Hawaiian Drink came closest, imo.

Interesting additions. DIY makes me really wish I was a super taster, so that I could pick out the subtle notes better.

That's another confirmation that I overdid it on the champagne. I would be worried about what this will taste like in a couple of weeks, if I thought it would last that long. I guess I'll force myself to save some, for science!

I'm with you there. My tongue is too unique for it's own good sometimes, wish I was one of these people that are able to detect every single note in one puff.

Mitten Vapors has a Baja blast that's pretty amazing and cheap. They have a 25% off coupon for this weekend too.

I can second Mitten Vapors, but let it steep for a little while. It was very acidic tasting to me at first but mellowed out after about a week. I'd also recommend getting it with less nicotine than normal because it's got a harsher than normal throat hit, at least for me.

Good stuff though!

Champagne really give a good "fizz" effect?

FWIW, I put a few drops of cactus in there, really gives it that juicy flavor
