BIG BOSS: A honey-kissed graham cereal with sliced bananas
submitted about 10 years ago by _Dotty_

Now this might be a little polarizing because not everyone loves clone recipes or Cuttwood juices but I kind of stumbled upon this mix by accident.

I had Boss Reserve a while ago. It was the dead of winter and at first vape I really didn't like it at all. As I vaped more of it, I was like "damn, this shit is pretty good." So I completely forgot about it and never vaped it again. Weird right?

Today I was vaping on my normal fruit loops vape and got frustrated because I've kind of hit a vaping lull. I don't want any new mods, I don't want any new attys, I don't even know if I wanted to keep vaping, let alone mix juice. So I decided it was time for a new flavor that I haven't vaped much of. Digging through the flavor stock, I found TFA Banana Cream. Gave it a sniff and remembered how much I liked Boss Reserve. I kind of thought for a while and started pulling out flavors to combine to try and get a solid backbone to the banana cream. Here's what I came up with.

RECIPE

  • TFA Banana Cream - 7%
  • TFA Vanilla Custard - 3%
  • TFA Belgian Waffle - 3%
  • TFA Peanut Butter - 3%
  • FA Caramel - 2%
  • TFA Brown Sugar - 1%
  • TFA Vanilla Swirl - 2%
  • INW Biscuit - 0.5%
  • Acetyl Pyrazine - 1.5%

Mixed at Max VG @ 1.5mg/mL of nicotine (100% PG)

Decent vaped fresh, will probably be much better after a good few days of steeping. WILL REPORT BACK

EDIT: Flavors meld really well overnight. The banana calms down and the honey graham flavors becomes more prominent. There is a distinct nuttiness at the end of the exhale that I am in love with.

Now for the write up.

Anyone who has had Boss Reserve knows TFA Banana Cream is the main culprit. It's the first and last note of the vape and carries through the entire inhale and exhale. I went with 7% since I wanted the same effect. Next, I kind of wanted to thicken it up and add some body to the vape which is where the TFA Vanilla Custard comes in. Also the Vanilla Custard and Banana Cream play oh so well together. Next thing we're looking for is richness and sweetness. Both TFA Peanut Butter and FA Caramel were my choices on this. The Caramel also helps give that honey-like sweetness without too much of the floral note of honey. The TFA Brown Sugar was added to enhance the graham note I was looking for to be the undertone of this vape and it pairs super well with the next ingredient. My secret weapon here is TFA Belgian Waffle. I use this flavor in a French toast juice and I've never been super impressed by it. I knew that it would give me that bready and syrupy note that would lend well to the graham flavor I was looking for. TFA Vanilla Swirl is really only in there to kind of round things out. It almost functions as a blender or a link to bring all the flavors together and meld them a little more so they're not jumping all over your palette during the vape. This is also what the INW Biscuit is here to do and it also helps bring a buttery cookie note to further bring up the graham flavor. Lastly, when mixing any cereal vape, my magic number with Acetyl Pyrazine is always 1.5%. It always works and it never fails. Perfect cereal grain notes every time. Now since the cereal I was trying to emulate isn't extremely grainy, I had to bump the other flavor percentages to not have too much of a grainy note. It worked out pretty well.

There you have it. If you're looking for something to bring you out of a vaping fog (pun intended), this might be what you're looking for. I know it was for me.

Thanks guys, let me know what you think. I love this vape so far.

You can try FA Cookie in a pinch but it's not the same.

Cool. I'll give it a shot. Do you think that sugar cookie work instead?

Sugar Cookie is completely different so that's a real longshot but it may make a decent juice.

Not really, CAP grahm cracker would be the next closest I think but not nearly the same.

You might be able to throw some FA Cookie in there but I would add 1% instead of 0.5%. The Inawera flavors are super strong.

Let me know how it turns out if you make it.

I thought this was /r/metalgearsolid for a second. Mmm, clones! I was just vaping some Boss Reserve last night. I have to force myself to use up the bottles I purchased earlier this year.

I never thought I was tasting banana, I thought it was "The Pain's" sweet honey.

I always got a lot of banana when I vaped Boss Reserve. I wanted to go for the same thing but round it out a little more. I might try this without the banana cream and see what happens.

This looks good but, that banana cream/caramel/brownsugar combo might be a little too sweet for me. I use to drool over TFA banana cream but now its like a really offputting sickeningly sweet vape for me. I haven't had any in about two weeks so maybe ill revisit.

Nice work!

You could always drop the caramel to 1% and nix the brown sugar. A little more AP might tone down the sweetness a little bit too. After an overnight steep this juice is sweet as hell but I'm kind of digging it, my normal vapes aren't incredibly sweet and this is a great change of pace.

Recipe looks very well crafted & delicious! Thanks for sharing. Don't forget to put it in the monthly recipe thread/clones thread. Gonna mix it up this weekend if I can spare any time.

That's hilarious. I wouldn't necessarily call it "well-crafted". I'd refer to it more of a "happy accident".

Will CAP Custard work here? I've got everything but that and this sounds amazing, but I don't really have the money to do another order. I have CAP Custard V1 and V2, and FA Custard. Thanks!

I'd take it down to 1 or 2 percent since CAP custard is a little stronger.

You know, I brought a recipe I found here to my local shop where I thought the guys were not very attentive, but they have turned out to be great as they mixed up something that tasted wonderful for me. I might do the same with this, but I have never tasted Boss Reserve (YET) I am not a DIY'er, but if they have the ingredients at the shop, they might be able to help me out :)) thanks for the recipe :)
