As title says, I was going to make some snake oil clone, but I accidentally bought the "pear candy" instead.. would this still taste good in its place? The recipe was as follows:
Bavarian Cream (TFA) 3%
Coconut Extra (TFA) 1.5%
Pear (TFA) 9%
I have Pear Candy (TFA)
Not sure on the Pear Candy TBH, but I've done this clone. A word of advice, bump your Bavarian up to 4 or 5 percent, the coconut down to about 1 percent, and the pear down to 6 or 7 percent. Coconut extra and Pear are super strong flavors.
Worked wonderfully. Tastes great.
TFA Pear Candy - 7% Bavarian Cream - 5% Coconut extra - 1%
thanks!
I agree with you. Coconut (not extra) would be much better
I've never used normal coconut, do you like it all around better than (extra)? I have Coconut extra and it's way too strong for me even at 1%
I think Coconut (Extra) is terrible and is extremely difficult to work with. I have no idea why it's so popular. Coconut regular is more creamy and easier to work with. Capella Coconut is really good albeit a bit weak, although it's my favorite -- it doesn't overpower. FLV Coconut is also another winner. It's very creamy and is really rich. It's pretty much the coconut you'd want if you wanted to do a single flavor coconut mix.
Make a 5ml sample and try it out
Op may even like it better, I find pear to be an odd flavor. I love real ones though.
I don't think I have any Pear flavorings, I have some candy apple and green apple, could I sub those in for the Pear with good results I wonder? I may just try it!
