Not Another Strawberry Custard... ok yes it is.
submitted about 10 years ago by Arodsteezy2

After 3 months of constant tweaking I think I've nearly dialed in my strawberry custard. I'd love for you guys to try it and give me some useful feedback or suggestions. Well, here it is:

  • Vanilla Custard (FLV) 5%
  • Vanilla Custard (TFA) 3%
  • Vanilla Custard V1 (CAP) 1%
  • Bavarian Cream (TFA) 2%
  • Sweet Cream (TFA) 0.5%
  • Joy (FA) 0.5%
  • Strawberry (TFA) 2%
  • Strawberry [ripe] (TFA) 0.75%
  • Sweet Strawberry (CAP) 1.25%

Ninja edit: I would have posted this in the monthly recipe thread but nobody would see it as its a month old.

I don't have any of those crazy flavorings you mix masters use. Any recipe in particular you recommend?

I actually made it without strawberry, and I gotta say. You have an excellent custard base on your hands. I added some FA Whipped cream and FA vienna cream and it made it even better.

Good shit, dog.

Ahhh Vienna Cream is on the short list now. Thanks for the feedback my friend. I feel like Custard V1 is far too strong to be used as a base so I used 1%. FLV is just a perfect vanilla base for fruits and TFA is as well with a little more custardy flavor.

I was going to say "NO FA JOY??!?!?!" but nope, it's there.

Nice work. Shake and vape or mix and wait?

Overrated I agree. It used to be Ethyl Maltol. Yes I'm only using it because of the hype but I got a 30ml might as well. Yeah, you can shake and vape but the strawberry comes in heavy. /u/tranceinate is right, It's on day 3 and the custard is working its way out. Tran, do you mean the mix of Sweet Cream and Bavarian clashes or is it either one on its own?

Either one on it's own or mixed with anything clashes with my palette. Bavarian cream especially. I've used like 4mls out of a 30ml bottle over the course of 10ish months. TFA Bavarian cream doesnt taste like bavarian cream to me, but that's probably the cyclotene(maple) aroma molecule or possibly the dihydrocoumarin

Looks pretty shake and vapeable to me & like it would start coming together around day 3 or 4. Sweet Cream & Bavarian clash with my pallette, but doesn't look bad.
