I use a magnetic stirrer with a hot plate for about 6 hours, so I'm not sure about natural steep time.
And here's a lower volume recipe (30ml):

Over.Kill.
Very, very low heat. I heat it up once really good, and then put the heat down to the lowest setting to where it will only be warm to the touch. Additionally, I prefer to cover the juice about 1 and 1/2 hours into it.
What do you generally do if you have a stirrer+hotplate?
You should always cover it, especially if you're letting it sit for 6 hours at a time. Homogenization like that blasts aroma molecules everywhere which could leave your mix with just base notes & no heart or top notes.
I don't have a hotplate, but when I use my mixer I warm my VG up to about 90F & then introduce it to hand-stirred flavouring/Nic.
It really only takes 5 minutes to blend everything enough. 20 if you want it extremely blended. Time will take care of everything else.
Dangit, I have everything but the meringue. Is there something else I could sub in?
