Hey everyone. I just wanted to give a big thanks to everyone here, for helping me out, all the great recipes, Grimlinjuice for finally having INW biscuit and FA joy in stock, and /u/enyawreklaw for all his great recipes, videos, and all the other stuff on here. I’ve only been DIY for a bit, and already I’m making better juice most of the time than 80% of the stuff I’ve bought in stores or online. Man, some of that stuff is just horrible marketing, just tfa strawberry ripe at 10% and tfa Bavarian cream at 5% and with a description all about the beautiful caramel cream, and fresh strawberries. I’ve bought way too many flavors that I haven’t even tasted them all yet, and I have so many ideas. Already made a Strawberry cheesecake that is great, but needs a bit of work (last batch was too much crust, not even cheesecake) – so a big round of applause for how easy y’all made this.
So here goes nothing. This my first recipe posted publicly. I find it fantastic, and keeps getting better. The lemon is kinda harsh the first day, but mellows really well – It’s not perfect, though, and I appreciate any thoughts on how to make it better, if anyone wants to check this out. Juicy Lemon is the only lemon I bought, I might try this with FA Lemon Sicily when I make my next order when I finally make up for spending too much $ on this stuff lately. It’s supposed to be a frosted lemon cookie, and it does have a similar taste to that, but it’s not dead on. But the point wasn’t to make it taste exactly like a lemon frosted cookie, it was to make a pleasant vape, and it fits my pallet at least. The biscuit + cookie gives it a good base. The custard works to give the cookie a vanilla cream ingredient, plus the eggy/whatever that custard also has. The AP works to give a tiny more grainy taste. The FA meringue and FA joy gives it the frosted notes. The tiny bit of FA fresh cream clears up the flavors and works well, might try upping it to 1% next time I make the recipe. I posted the recipe on ELR, as I found that place really viable and would love to contribute.
Here’s the recipe:
- Acetyl Pyrazine 5% TFA - 0.5%
- Biscuit INW – 1%
- Cookie FA – 2%
- Cream Fresh FA – 0.5%
- Custard FA – 1%
- Joy FA - 0.5%
- Juicy Lemon CAP – 4.5%
- Meringue FA – 1%
I mixed it up at a 70vg/30pg mix with 3mg of nicotine.
Please critique!
I make a Lemon Ice Cookie using Juicy Lemon and Lemon Sicily that's pretty darn good. I was trying to emulate those wonderful little lemon cookies that are covered in powdered sugar. They have a coolness to them, hence the Koolada. My percentages are a bit higher since I use use my juices in my sub tanks quite a bit. I make a 70/30 mix.
Italian Lemon Sicily CAP - 3%
Juicy Lemon CAP - 3%
Meringue FA - 3%
Sugar Cookie v2 CAP - 6%
Biscuit INW - 1%
Koolada TFA - 0.5%
hmm. A tiny bit of Koolada might really work in my recipe. You should try adding some custard to your mix, maybe take out a percent of the Meringue and add some, it worked wonders in my recipe.
I never considered custard in my cookie mix, I'll throw it in the next batch. I kept adding Meringue to try to get that powdered sugar taste, but I think I hit the wall on that. It's tough to find that true, melt in your mouth sugar finish.
I'm doing some research on unrelated DIY stuff and came across this thread and your post. Try some Cream Cheese Icing LA to emulate that thin layer of dried frosting on the cookie. Cream Cheese Icing has a sharpness, a bite that I think that frosting has and would pair well with the lemon-y cookie mix. I would replace your Meringue with the CCI, maybe at 2%.
Nice recipe, btw, thanks for sharing.
Edit: tried the recipe with CCI instead of Meringue. Works better at 3% instead of my suggested 2%. Could even be bumped to 4%, but 3 might be good to let the citrus come through as the sharp note. Tastes good, nice one man.
you should try some FA Anise over the koolada, it would still add a cooling effect and give the cookie a little more spice.
I'll mix some up right now and let you know how it turns out
That's a great idea, let me know how it turns out!
Didn't turn out so well to be honest, made the taste a bit chewy. Not like a cookie, more like a gummy.
Although I did adapt your recipe a little and instead of the koolada I added .25 Cardamom and .5 Organic Ginger and it turned into a delicious ginger-lemon cookie, exactly like you described :)
I don't have everything to give it a try but it looks solid. Lemon Sicily is definitely worth a try. I find FW Yellow Cake and INW Biscuit work together really well for me.
What mix of strawberries have you been using for the cheesecake?
Before I had biscuit and joy I just kept it the way it was and used some (Cap) vanilla custard to help bring out the sweetness, it worked well, though this is better. I'll have to check out the yellow cake/biscuit. I'm currently vaping the Bronuts I made today for the first time, and it's the first time I used Yellow cake and I like it.
So far been using TFA Strawberry Ripe at 7% - it's my favorite strawberry so far. Now that I have Cap sweet strawberry I might try including that as well.
Encourage trying FA Torrone as it fits the profile of what you are going after, I'd start around 0.25% and see how you like it (will help bring out the lemon and the cookie). I'd add it if you don't have them yet to your next order. I think you will like Lemon Sicily, Start at lot lower then you would with the juicy lemon, maybe like 1.50-2.00% for a strong lemon flavor.
I've never used/purchased FA Custard. Any other custards close? I have copious amounts of CAP Vanilla Custard V2. Any recommendations for now? I'll toss FA Custard in my next order and give it a true test. I love lemon desserts and custards!
Not really, FA Custard is a true Italian custard, that contains a citrus note, that you wont find with other brands.
I do highly recommend it though. It works well to give a creaminess to the vape at low %s.
