A simple Tobacco ADV - *Fury*
submitted about 10 years ago by Furyxus

So a little while back, I invested in some FA and INW tobacco flavors, and I've been having a ton of fun with them. One of my biggest reasons for investing in some of these tobaccos is that I sell my juice to a few guys I work with; all them wanted to quit smoking, took up vaping and were tired of the prices. They asked to buy some from me, and boom, I've got a handful of repeat customers. One coworker has been a bit stingy; he'll only really try to quit smoking if he's got a good tobacco flavor to substitute for analogs. After sampling, note-taking and working with him, this is what I've nailed down. I'm not a huge fan of tobaccos, save for Kickback by Indigo (if you haven't tried it, GET AT THAT). Without further ado, I present:

#Fury

(ECX) Black Mile+ - 4.5%

(INW) Nutty Princess - 1.0%

(FA) Black Fire - 0.5%

(FA) Latakia - 0.5%

(TFA) Smooth - 0.33% (~1 drop/ 5mL)

So to my notes: Black Mile+ is hands down my favorite single tobacco flavor. I enjoy it standalone @ 6%. Its just so choice. It has that smooth feel and savory flavor that my tongue just loves. INW Nutty Princess is FANTASTIC in small amounts in any tobacco juice to add a touch of complexity and mouth feel. The combination of black fire + latakia @ 0.5% each is really the kicker here though. If anyone ever nails a true-to-heart cigarette juice, some combo of these bad boys in small amounts will be present. The latakia gives a little tongue tickle/ bite that is very reminiscent of an analog or a cigar, and black fire provides something similar to the ash-like mouth feel and presence of smoke.

If you've got the flavors, give this a shot. If it intrigues you, I highly recommend picking up what you don't have and trying it. I've got a stubborn ass electrical engineer at work who's been a die hard winston smoker for the past 30 some years saying that this is probably gonna do it for him.

As always, any and all feedback appreciated! If you've got some ideas to make this bad boy better, by all means lets discuss and work on it! I love this community and everyone in it. Take care and enjoy folks!

Any replacement to that tobacco flavor? My shops don't carry ECX

Here's the link

I can't think of a possible sub for it; I've not tried anything really close to it.

Hmmm thanks, thing is I'm in Portugal, so paying 20 dollars shipping for a 4 bucks bottle doesn't psyche me!

Been trying to get my aunt off analogs for two years now. She is only willing to try with real analog flavor.....hopefully this will satisfy her until her taste buds come back to their senses ;)

Thanks OP!

Depending on her brand, have her try Jon Wayne 18mg to see if that can provide a starting point between flavor and tobacco heat.

Thanks for the advice! I believe she smokes Camel Lights.

I smoked for a long time and that is what I go back to. It's expensive for an ADV, which is why I'm subbed to this sub, but most of the tobacco flavors tend to be pretty boring and thin to me so I keep going back to it. Ruyan clones might be a bit sweeter, but they're a close second for me.

Not a problem! It took 7 iterations before we finally got it where we want it, and I'm really digging it! Good luck to you and your aunt :)

Placed my first flavor order to try this. In Ca. I'm thinking I should practice my diy chops. Thank you.

Wow! That's awesome! Good luck; if you ever need any help, PM me or ask around! This is arguably the best community on reddit imo; so many resources and helpful folks round these parts.

Thanks. Placed the order with 25% coupon for FA so didn't hurt too bad.

> I enjoy it standalone @ 6%

I do too. Exactly at 6%.

I spend about half my mixing time on tobaccos and have about 100 tobacco flavors but I don't have (FA) Latakia. What's the flavor profile of that one, maybe I can sub something. This sounds great.

Latakia is very unique. There's not much of a flavor other than maybe I slight peppery cinnamon like flavor; it's more of a tongue bite that lingers up front. I don't where to start for a substitute.

Thanks. Sounds like a great flavor. I'll have to pick some up next time I place an order.

It's very versatile; I'm using it anywhere from 0.33% to 0.75% in most of my tobacco recipes. It depends on how much of that bite you want.

I've never tried the flavor, but latakia is an oriental tobacco normally used in pipe blends that tastes and smells like a roaring fireplace

1 points

by hotwingsandcoldbeerabout 10 years agoTobacconist

Damn. That sounds nice. I'm sold on this flavor and I'd never heard of it until 4 hours ago.

I don't know if you smoke pipes, but anything that calls itself an "English blend" has latakia in it. It's pretty good stuff. Tobacco is pretty awesome when it's not in the shape of paper-wrapped cancer

I'm sold on this flavor and bought on a whim after seeing it and googling Latakia lol. Definitely worth picking up 10mL and playing around.

FA Latakia comes close to your description IMO

Have you ever considered writing about some of your favorite tobacco flavorings/recipes or general thoughts on tobaccos for the sub? I know that I struggle with them and other people as well; so many options and I don't ever really know where to start. Just an idea if you ever have time; I already see you contributing a lot and appreciate that.

Some day I will for sure. I've been messing with tobacco for about a year and some days I feel like still know nothing. Its a whole new world all on its own. So under appreciated. The complexity is like no other genre of flavors.

Well, I got the Black Mile+ and the Smooth. Good for me.

Definitely intrigued by this recipe though. Might have to put in another order.

The black fire and Latakia add the mouth feel and bite that adds to the tobacco flavor from the back mile+ and nutty princess. A sub might be made for nutty princess that would still be good, but it tastes so excellent with bm+. I think it's worth the order!

Ever tried FA's Glory?

by Furyxusabout 10 years ago

I haven't! I've only got like 5 FA tobacco flavors. What's the profile like? I might have to pick some up and fool around with it.

Is black mile without the plus very different , i only have that, how far will the recipe be if i used just black mile

by Furyxusabout 10 years ago

google search brings up that plus has added vanilla notes so maybe i will keep the % the same and add some more vanilla but i will in no way able to know how close i am to your recipe :P

I finally got around to making this. I was a bit worried after I smelled the black fire. I haven't had an actual cigarette in several years, and that flavor smells just like them.

I love "tobacco" flavors though, so I had to try this recipe. I'm glad I did.

This is excellent. It reminds me of a cigarette and coffee. It tastes like burning, but it's not off-putting. I think I might like it more than my 10% TFA RYFD + 1% AP.

That said, I am gonna play around with this recipe by adding 0.5% TA and 0.5% AP.

Thanks!

I'm drunk vaping this right now after a week of steeping. Great drunk vape. I have done a couple sample tastes during the week to see how it was coming along and it was a bit strong. I didn't add any Smooth though. How important is that to this recipe? I also think I might have added a bit too much of the black fire. Overall, I really dig it. I know this is a pretty old post. Found it in the search for some new tobaccos.

Glad you're enjoying it! I find it's a great drunk vape as well, when you're craving a cig and wanting something bold and ashy. I find that the smooth really rounds out a couple of the harsh/ sharp parts of tobacco flavors and really helps them blend. And yea, be careful with black fire. It's a fantastic additive to tobaccos, but overdoing it is unpleasant.

You reckon marshmallow or a graham cracker could be used in place of Smooth?

1 points

by Furyxusalmost 10 years ago

Marshmallow could most definitely help. But nothing will quite do what smooth does, aside from MTS vape wizard by FA. Play around with marshmallow though, that could be a great addition.

Finally got around to ordering Black Mile + and Latakia, so glad I did. I found this recipe very good shake and vape, after 24 hours it was amazing. Not normally what I go for in Tobacco mixes, black and mile + tastes like it's more on the "chocolatey" end of the spectrum to me, and then nutty princess straight up tasted like play-dough. But sure enough, after dripping it a couple times and a little time for the flavors to blend together, this has turned out to be one of my favorite tobacco mixes.

Thank you for sharing this recipe!
