Weekly 'Suggest a Recipe for my Flavors' Thread - Week of August 21, 2015
submitted about 10 years ago by AutoModerator

Got a bunch of flavors but not sure how to make them work together? Post your list here, and our team of semi-professional mixologists will make suggestions for you! If you are impatient and want to do this on your own, here are a couple of good links:

  • /u/daath has a nice website that has this functionality, but you will need to register to make it work. It is not very intuitive but if you work with it you can input your flavors and get a list of recipes that you can make. IMO this is the better site if you have the patience to make it work for you. Edit2: to get this to work, first set up an account. Then add your flavors to the stash (under my page / my flavor stash). hit save. Then go back to the front page and click the link next to the search field, "Search by flavor stash". You can select a couple of your flavors and recipes that have those will pop up.
  • This site has a nice big search button with just what you're looking for.

Happy Mixing!

I'll bite. Put my first ever order in yesterday with ecigexpress, picked up the following flavors:

  • Strawberry (TFA)
  • Fuji Apple (FA)
  • Dragon Fruit (TFA)
  • Fresh Cream (FA)
  • Cooke (FA)
  • Apple Pie (FA)
  • Banana (FA)
  • Butterscotch (FA)
  • Mandarin (FA)
  • Oba Oba (FA)
  • Marshmallow (FA)

I tried to just snag some stuff that sounded ok in single our 2 flavor mixes, as it's my first go and didn't want make things too complicated. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

6% TFA Strawberry

4% FA Banana

2% FA Mandarin

I am guessing with the banana %, I use tfa banana cream. But I like this fruit smoothie.

That sounds delicious! Thanks!

I'd say:

Fuji 4%

Apple pie 4%

Cookie 2%

But I'm totally new, it just sounds like a good combination.

Edited for formatting.

My TFA Flavors:

  • Cheesecake (Graham Crust) (TFA)
  • Dragonfruit (TFA)
  • Ethyl Maltol (10% PG) Diluted 2% (TFA)
  • Honeydew (TFA)
  • Honeysuckle (TFA)
  • Key Lime (TFA)
  • Pear (TFA)
  • Pie Crust (TFA)
  • Strawberry (Ripe) (TFA)

Misc Flavors

  • Cactus (INW)
  • Custard (FA)
  • Jungle Juice (FW)
  • Lime Tahiti Cold Pressed (FA)

If you see a theme in my flavors, I basically ordered for /u/Botboy141's Key Lime Pie (which is amazing) and a honey pearry clone, then threw in Cactus because I wanted to try it, and Jungle Juice so I could mix some cheap thug juice. I also have way too many menthol crystals which I can dissolve in PG if a recipe needs it.

I would love if someone could throw me a recipe for something fruity with menthol, but not too like Thug juice nor Honey Pearry! I'm getting low on some flavors, so I'd be down with buying an extra flavor or two if it will make a much better recipe than what I currently have. Thanks in advance!

I'd try

Strawberry ripe 6%

Honeysuckle 2%

Cactus .5%

by GalileoMateoabout 10 years ago

Thanks! That does sound great. I love cactus on its own so I'm excited to finally mix it with something!

2 points

by Nicobeakabout 10 years ago

Try

  • 1.5 cactus

  • 2 inw mango

  • 2 cap sweet mango

Or

  • 6 la banana cream (or appropriate % of banana of your choice)

  • 1.5 cactus

When you get more flavors.

Strawberry ripe is pretty good by itself around 10%-15%; maybe mixing 10% straw (ripe) with 5% Key Lime would be good?

Have you tried the peanut butter cup and the tongue f*** recipes from "best of 2014" in the sidebar? Both really good!!

1 points

by prototrdabout 10 years agoProud Sidebar Reader!

Tongue F*ck u/tet5uo variant was my first venture into DIY actually. Really good, but for some reason the fruit circles has really started to overpower everything else and it tastes unpleasant. I noticed a small leak in the top of my fruit circles bottle, so I wonder if air was getting to it and its changed the flavor. Haven't tried peanut butter cup yet.

Hehe I had to back down on fruit circles to, now only 4%. Pb cup is very very good fresh made, but any pb vape gets old real quick to me. I still get an urge for it tho, and make 10ml batch, vape it all up that day=)

How's about:

Apple pie - 6%

Vanilla bean ice cream (I've only used tfa, dunno about cap) - 6%

Fuji Apple - 2%

Pie crust - 1%

Cinnamon - 0.5%

Maybe play around with cheesecake graham crust, cream flavors, sweetener and/ or vanilla custard as well! There's a mean Apple pie recipe to be made in there!

that sounds awesome thanks, I'll give it a try this weekend hopefully.

I've tried already and used the vienna cream which seems to add a bit of an odd taste so letting it steep then will see if I need to add anything, but I am very sure there is still going to be plenty trial and error ahead.

Creams are different for everyone. Some people thoroughly enjoy some of them, others not so much. There's a wide variety to play around with, that's the fun of it!

9% watermelon

4% grape juice

2% strawberry (ripe)

1% koolada

sour to taste

Vanilla bean ice cream
Honeydew

by Corndog_Enthusiastabout 10 years ago

There's something to be had with Strawberry (ripe) and lemon; perhaps try 10% Strawberry (ripe) with 4% Lemon, then work up or down from there.

1 points

by juanwarezabout 10 years ago

Thanks for the idea. Too much lemon at 4. I'll probably drop it to 2.5% or 3%.

OK so I have 6 flavors and I just wanna know what i can make

  • Strawberry (CAP) -Double Watermelon (CAP) -French Vanilla (CAP) -Vanilla Custard (CAP) -Graham Cracker (CAP) -Caramel (CAP)
2 points

by coop34about 10 years ago

Strawberry Custard

5% each strawberry and vc

3% french vanilla

Caramel Custard

7% VC

2-3% Caramel

Optional: Graham Cracker would prolly go good with caramel-custard, make a second batch, using 3% GC.

Those custards need a long steep, at least a month to really start shining. In the mean time Strawberry is good stand-alone at 10%, and also good mixed with watermelon. I am unfamiliar with double watermelon, so play with that combo.(Maybe start 5% each?)

Happy mixing!!

interesting, why not. I got 4 flavors from german flavours (which probably no one knows, so ill describe them)

  • lemon (lemon zest)
  • lime (lime zest)
  • strawberry (candy strawberry)
  • banana (just like real ripe bananas)

and i have menthol dissolved in grain alcohol. cant find a use for the flavors, nothing worked well, so im just using an eye-balled stronger menthol vape atm (which is nice and refreshing). gonna go buy the flavors from brands recommended here as i found a vendor for thm once i have the money and a few recipes i like

i vape VG+flavoring, no nic atm

I enjoy desserts/bakery and creamy fruits, this venture into DIY was inspired by a reply suggesting a clone of Spoonlicker OG...in addition to a bunch of VG, Nicotine base, some PG, and an assortment of mixing supplies, I have incoming-

CAPELLA -

Blue Raspberry Cotton Candy 30ml Cake Batter 45ml Vanilla Bean Ice Cream 30ml Banana Cream 8ml Sweet Strawberry 45ml Sweet Cream 15ml Vanilla Custard v2 15ml Graham Cracker 30ml Sugar Cookie 30ml Marshmallow 30ml Vanilla Custard 30ml Cinnamon Danish Swirl 30ml

THE FLAVOR APPRENTICE

Bavarian Cream 15ml Graham Cracker Clear 45ml Cotton Candy 15ml Cinnamon 30ml

The blue raz cotton candy I got for nostalgia factor, my local B&M made a simple juice with the same name(and I'm assuming its this flavoring) when I first started out. The rest I got looking to make good Strawberry or Vanilla Custards/Creams and Cinnamon-ish bakery flavors. I also wanted to play around with using the Vanilla Ice Cream under the strawberry instead of the cake batter/custards/creams. From some of the reading I've done, I got the plain Cotton Candy and Marshmallow to use as a sweetener(EM) and cream enhancer, respectively.

I have a few recipes saved I want to try that includes a few strawberry creams, simple Unicorn Milk, OB and Mother's Milk clones, and a Snickerdoodle cookie or two. Any recommendations from the vets here would be extremely welcome! Thanks!
