I really enjoy guava and picked up a TFA brand bottle to work with. I haven't came across a recipe that included it that I could make so I went with my gut for what would work well together.
Here's what I put together:
Guava (tfa) - 6%
Honey Dew (tfa) - 3%
Watermelon (tfa) - 3%
Watermelon (la) - 1%
I've had success with the honey dew and watermelon before so I put together a quick melon base along with a touch of the pink stuff. The finished product smelled strong but good. The taste though, it's like my juice was rang out through a dirty gym sock and leaves a terrible odor on the exhale.
Did I go too strong with the guava? I didn't try anything too crazy. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good guava flavored recipe I could to try? I'm afraid to experiment further on my own.
TFA Guava is extremely juicy and full flavored. I actually prefer LA Guava personally but I know CAP Sweet Guava is also spoken of relatively highly.
My attempts @ mixing Guava with Melons has been pretty pitiful.
This was my most successful use of any amount of melon with Guava:

Be sure to read the comments for some adjustments, I gave up on this blend and reformulated some other guava based recipes instead. /u/daath preferred this @ half strength.
I must second the CAP Sweet Guava. It was literally my holy grail. My ADV for the longest time was adam bomb paradise. now I make it myself
5%CAP Sweet Guava 3%FA Pineapple 2% FW Orange 1% TFA Pear 1drop per 10mL Ethyl Maltol
apology for editing im on mobile
I'll pick some of that up with my next order. I think ruined myself with this flavor. I think in reality I wanted a version of the Rockstar Tropical Guava energy drink, and wanted experience with guava in the meantime.
How well does that FA Pineapple taste in this? I made a Piña Colada flavor that tasted like dog piss. Also, are there any substitutions for FW Orange? I have FA Orange, Cap Sweet Tangerine, and FA Mandarin. I've never tasted FW Orange though :/
I think I'm going to avoid the melon and guava combo, this has ruined any hopes I had for the flavor lol. I'll be picking up the sweet guava as that might be more of what I'm looking for.
Imo tfa guava has a very bitter guava flesh and skin taste. Very realistic but it'll ruin a mix. I use it in both my guava mixes but I use a 10% dilution in PG. I use 1:1 tfa guava@10% to cap sweet guava as a starting point if you want guava to be a primary flavour. I can't get a strong mix of it because of the tfa guava and the capella makes it too sweet at higher percentages so I use it as a complex background in tropical mixes.
For the short term, dilute some and use the diluted version at 1-5%. Add something sweet, TFA strawberry ripe combined with CAP sweet strawberry 2:1 would probably work out well. Honeydew melon imo is another flavour that's horrendously potent so I'd drop that to 0.5%, perhaps 1% max. Fill in the rest with sweet fruits. Both the honeydew and guava will cut through most other fruits though. Also I find it's a flavour that may seem great the first time you try it but give it a couple of days and you'll start to pick out the bitter tones. You'll probably go through 30+ different iterations of your recipe before you get something down that you're truly happy with ime.
I've had little luck, but I've only tried like four batches, two different recipes of my own design. I have cap sweet guava and flv pink guava. The guava to me kind of has a grapefruity taste with a little bit of a bite. It also doesn't feel "juicy" enough if that makes sense. So I've been trying to round it out with tfa juicy peach and/or flv boysenberry. I wish I had pineapple or mango to mix in, I feel like it just makes sense. I'll keep trying, I really want to make a halfway decent guava juice.
Was thinking of trying to mix it with a little melon flavor as well, not sure how it'll turn out but I have a couple different ones I'll be giving a whirl in the future.
If you have more FLV flavors...try this:
2% FLV Pink Guava
2% FLV Lychee
2% INW Pear
0.2% FLV Coconut
Yum yum. As you said though, FLV Pink Guava is more of a ripe grapefruit than Guava but man is this stuff tasty.
Thanks for the recipe. I do have a bit of flv actually. Lychee I got because I'm like eighty percent positive I saw you talk it up about being good in certain recipes so I bought it on a whim, haven't used it yet though, kind of unsure how to and I don't have many free bottles right now to dedicate to experimenting. They were out of the coconut so I got their sweet coconut, I also have tfa coconut extra if either of those work. The only pear I have is tfa. But I could definitely give this recipe a go, just altered.
I'd go with the Coconut Extra and the TFA Pear, same percentages, should still work well although the pear note will be a bit different.
The flavor is light in this version after a shake and vape (doesn't get much stronger either) you could bump everything up a little if you want, just an early iteration of something I've been wanting to perfect.
.1 - .5% INW Kaktus adds juiciness to mixes. May be worth trying.
TFA Guava to me was VERY floral tasting and really strong. I tried to make a Guava Raspberry mix 4% TFA Guava, 2% FA Raspberry, it almost made me gag it was so strong and flowery. I have yet to try another batch with it, I can honestly still smell the overpowering flowery guava just thinking about it and it's making me nauseous.
I'm usually a fan of guava, G12 (Guava/Raspberry) was one of my favorite e liquids, TFA guava is just gross though IMO.
I used 1.75% tfa guava in a recipe that was nothing but guava and sweetener. The guava was still a tad strong. I was trying to replicate those guava candies you get at Thai restaurants. I forgot about that recipe but I think I might be able to knock the guava down to 1%, making the recipe mostly sweetener.
