so i FINALLY just ran out of my nicotine and have to reorder some. i go through so little anymore [1mg end level] and was thinking of trying vaperstek but stumbled upon carolina extract selling 100mg/ml 120ml bottles for $17ish. its about as local as i can get too... looking for opinions of anyone who has tried it.

They use a cold/cold/closed extraction process. The tobacco never touches air, not even in the bottle. Totally airless until you open it.

seriously thinking of the best way to break it down and long term storage? i have a bunch of 120ml glass bottles i could split it among 4 to bring down in level and fill to rim, cap and freeze... then only use one at a time.... sound logic?
I buy 48mg/ml and predilute it down to 16mg/ml.
Then I pour 16mg/ml into dark jars that I vacuum seal and freeze.
My oldest CXTC batch is still perfect. No darkening, no peppery taste, no taste muting in final solution.
You can skip the vacuum seal step but prediluting it is very helpful for long term viability and reducing oxidation.
i kind of wish their sample size bottle was 48mg/ml instead of 100mg/ml... my last 120mL bottle lasted me since february so 6 months and it was 36mg/ml. this should last me 18 months.
so math check, making 120mL batches of 24mg/mL is
28.8mL~35.971g of 100mg/mL VG NiC
91.2mL~ 113.909g of VG
that gets me roughly 4.16 120mL bottles of 24mg/mL NiC
I would love to order from them, is the tax affecting their prices at all? I'm due for a nic order soon and my initial NN order was nightmare.
I want to try this, but first I need an answer to what feels like a stupid question. All of my other nic is 100mg/ml. Carolina Extract clearly states 100mg/1000ml. Is this the same? I've bought 100mg nic from VapersTek, Heartland Vapes, and Nude Nicotine and all said 100mg/ml. Why is Carolina Extract 100mg/1000ml?
not sure, but their 48mg bottles, well 2 of them, state 48mg/ml... but description says 48mg/1000ml
So I wonder if 100mg/ml is the same at 100mg/1000ml?
It is, the answer they gave me is overly complex but to sum up what i was told it is a 10% solution. My titration tests were very close to 100mg. This is their exact response to my question:

Please note that MG is a unit of weight and ML is a unit of volume. These two metric system measurements were based on Water being the standard.
The Nicotine molecule is just slightly heavier than water. Water weighs exactly 1000MG per 1000ML ( or simpler 1MG=1ML) under average atmospheric conditions and altitude.
Nicotine is only about .05% heavier than water, so 100MG per 1000ML is approximately and for all practical purposes, a 10 percent solution. Depending on the barometric pressure and altitude, nicotine at say, 1000 ft above sea level can weigh exactly the same as water at say 100 ft. above sea level, but if the two are weighed at the same time and the same place, the nicotine will always be just slightly heavier.
In short, 50MG/1000ML is a 5% solution, 100MG/1000ML is a 10% solution, 500MG/1000ML is a 50% solution and 1000MG/1000ML ( or also expressed as 1000MG/1KG) is not a solution at all, it is pure nicotine. Please not that anything above 100MG/1000ML requires increased handling procedures.

To echo the other endorsements here, CXTC nicotine is by far the best commercially-available nic base on the market. Totally clean, no nitrosamines, no taste, etc.
It's also extremely reliable batch-to-batch. Unlike other vendors, I haven't seen an appreciable variation in L-nicotine concentration between different lots.
One slightly interesting note: using CXTC nic you may find yourself adjusting your recipes to a lower overall flavor concentration. When you're not covering up junk nicotine, you don't need as much flavoring :)

It's good. I order my nic in pg, partly because I'm lazy and don't want to shake forever to get the nic to mix with vg, and partly so it adds a couple extra percentages of pg to my mix without having to store a bottle of pg in my small filing cabinet of mixing supplies.
I got the 120ml "sampler" about 2 months ago, and it stays in the locked filing cabinet in my office with no ac during the day (so about 80-85°). The small 15ml bottle I transferred some into is just barely yellow/pinkish colored. There's no taste to it at all still. I've used Vaportek, Nude, and Carolina. And I'll be ordering only from Carolina in the future.
I vaguely remember my last visit to their site but is all of their NIC in concentrate and needs to be diluted? I'd like to order their sample bottle but I dont feel comfortable diluting that stuff on my own.

Don't you dilute all nic for DIY? That's all they mean, don't vape 100mg nic, you're gonna have a bad time. I don't usually dilute for storage, just break down into 30ml cobalt bottles and freeze. They dispense as needed right into my juice.
Unless I've been doing it wrong I'd plug in my target level of 3mg using 100mg/ml and weigh out the amount which my calculator tells me for a give recipe. Typically when I buy a bottle of NIC I split it between myself and a coworker who mixes on her own. I don't ever have a large enough quantity on hand to store for long term use. Is that what you're referring to? Also, I believe I must have misunderstood the wording. Scratch that.
a lot of people will dilute it. There's a couple reason/uses for this

Makes for better storage. won't oxidize as quickly.

some will dilute down to make a bunch of VG nic base's where you figure the math for desired nic strength and VG/PG ratio and of course ml's desired. This allows you to have say IDK 20 different 30ml bottles stored in the freezer with ___ amount of VG+Nic in it, and all you gotta do is add Flavor+PG when ready.
*edit: almost forgot. the second situation is often made in large batches as well. then you add VG, PG, and Flavor and don't worry about adding Nic to each bottle.
This makes perfect sense and I thank you for taking the time to explain everything. As of right now I'm not experimenting much as I have a few solid recipes I've been using from this wonderful sub as my ADV.
As I experiment I will most likely mix without NIC. Yes I know adding NIC in some/most cases will change the profile but I've been lucking out with clean NIC with minimal profile change as the recipes steep.
I suppose it wouldn't hurt to pick up a sample bottle of CarolinaXtract and do as you've recommended especially considering I have ADV material which could benefit from this.

Finally it's less expensive to buy 5 x 120 ml bottles = 600 ml at 5 x 17 = 85 than their 500 ml bottle (85). Anybody know why? Because by buying their 120 ml samples it's easier to freeze and just une one bottle at the time.
