[Recipe] Raspberry Ripple Ice Cream
submitted about 10 years ago by radmatt

To preface this, I haven't been on the DIY train for too terribly long so I am no veteran. But I believe I have come up with a possible clone-ish of Charlie Noble's Raspberry Ripple Ice Cream. This is the juice that made me want to get into DIY because I was flying through $22 30ml bottles of the stuff like nobody's business!

I started off fudging with the infamous Mustard Milk by adding some TFA Raspberry (Sweet) and was instantly taken back to what I was addicted to for so long. But I knew it was not right. So I just took out the strawberry from the Mustard Milk recipe and added in the raspberry and BAM, I had an amazing vape very reminiscent of the original. The smell from this mix isn't quite the smell I get from the original but the vape is almost identical. There is a bit more of a creaminess smell there I believe. I haven't given this a real chance to steep since I can't put it down, so I am not entirely sure what the time frame should be. I would imagine after a few days it would get better. Anyway, here is the very simple mix that I whipped up:

Raspberry Ripple Ice Cream

TFA - Vanilla Bean Ice Cream @ 8%

TFA - Raspberry(Sweet) @ 4%

I have seen tons of variations of Mustard Milk but none that involve raspberry. I am open to any and all suggestions/critiques/ass-chewings/etc.

Edit* - After remixing I feel the raspberry at 3% suites this mix a little better, it gives the vanilla bean ice cream more room to do its thang, being super delicious. Either way, you can't go wrong.

I love raspberry. I'm going to give this a shit, even tho I get the pepper taste from VBIC, but it is worth a shot. I have been airing the bottle put in hopes that it goes away.

You might just be one of the unfortunate folks that picks up pepper from whichever aroma volatile in there.

Ha! I didn't even look at the username. I was like, wtf is this guy talking about "bunce"?

Hmm, interesting. I haven't gotten a pepper taste from VBIC just creamy, vanilla goodness.

I bought 4oz on impulse after reading all the mustard milk madness. Pepper, total waste on my taste buds. Breathing it helps but never good enough for an ADV for me.

That's the worst! I've made that same mistake as well. Taste buds are so damn picky.

I'm so tired of strawberry, and sweet raspberry is delicious! This sounds yummy.

That was my exact thought process as well. Hope you like it!

Just mixed this:

8% Vanilla Bean Ice Cream TFA
3% Raspberry Sweet TFA
.5% Strawberry Ripe TFA
1.5% Fresh Cream FA

Not too shabby, thinking of chucking some Tres Leches/Yellow Cake FW & Vanilla Cupcake CAP/TFA in there next time. Cheers OP.

Nice! Glad you like it. I made my first batch with ripe strawberry thrown in and enjoyed it.

Pretty sure charlie noble has a light creamy topnote, like fresh cream or whip cream, may try it tomorrow

Not a bad idea. Unfortunately I don't have either of those, only sweet cream and bavarian cream. I thought about adding some marshmallow but was afraid it might mute the vanilla bean ice cream.

What about VBIC 8% Rasp (Sweet) 3% and 1% Fresh Cream (FA)? I'll try it tonight.

Sounds like a good combo. The raspberry does work better at 3% in this mix. Let me know what you think.

I feel like Vbic and FA sweet cream belong together. Makes a really light but still complex cream base.

I love the charlie noble version, its always been in the back of my head to give it a shot, but alas VBIC tastes like powerdered milk to me so ill have to wait till my CAP VBIC gets in to try this

Capella makes a Vanilla Bean Ice Cream? Can you link?

Woah! Thanks for the link. I actually expected that it didn't exist and that you made a mistake, but I am surprised to see it! I had just made an order a little over a week ago and didn't see that flavor. Dammit, I'm going to have to go in again. Thanks again for the linky.

I also get the pepper taste on VBIC. Just like TFA's VC also has that pepper taste. I don't get that pepper taste from capella.

I may add a touch of koolada to give it that cold taste.

So I mixed some of this up and let it steep as it was - vbic 8%
raspberry sweet 3%

Its totally missing something, I get a nice relaxed taste of raspberry on inhale but the vbic just isn't enough to give the vape a full body and great exhale. I think that what its missing maybe is some sweetness ~ strawberry ripe (tad bit) to calm down the vbic's creamy properties and maybe some vanilla swirl to round it off nothing more than .5% I'd say or maybe some whipped cream .5%. Anyone tried this and feel the same way?

I have honestly not revisted this since I posted it. But you're right, it is missing a little something to fill it out. I need to revamp it and see what I can come up with. Thanks for your input!
