The purpose of this thread is to gather the community to explore a flavor and it's many uses.
####We're not just looking for you to post recipes you have containing the flavor of the week, but looking for you to share your process as you develop a new juice using the flavor of the week.
This should help us all to better understand how certain flavors interact, and give us all a launching point to perhaps discovering new wonderful recipes.
###Please post new recipes created using this flavor as well as any and all tasting notes as main posts. Thought process is encouraged also.
This thread will NOT be in contest mode so the best flavors and reviews of those should move their way towards the top.
While I definitely encourage you to branch out with this flavor and use some more rare flavors, I would encourage everyone to keep it in mind that others will not be able to try your recipe and comment or offer assistance if they do not have the flavors you are using. I would also encourage you to use this week's flavor as the "main" flavor in your recipe although this is not required.
You BETTER sample and offer tasting notes on your recipe.
Good luck to everyone!
##This Week's Flavor is: Grape
Unlike in the previous monthly contest thread, I am NOT limiting this to any specific flavor from any specific vendor. After all, our goal here is to come up with perhaps some unique uses of the weekly flavor or combinations others may not have thought of before. This should allow for maximum participation as well!

Here is a PB&J I've been working on. Pretty happy with it so far, some changes to come though:
Peanut Butter TFA 5% (this is pretty heavy peanut butter, as I've been on a PB kick lately, feel free to lower it slightly (3-4%)
FA Cookie 1%
Acetyl Pyrazine .25%
CAP Vanilla Custard 2%
Sweet Strawberry 4-5%
TFA Grape Juice 5%
The grape juice turns the strawberry into a strawberry jam, or so I think, according to my palette. Without it, the strawberry isn't jammy enough ,and it feels more like a strawberry peanut butter flavor. The grape juice really adds that dark berry tone to the "jam/jelly". This is just an example of how you can use grape to change the perception of it's complimentary flavors. IMO Grape Juice isn't a strong enough grape to use solo, hence it's use in this recipe.
I just tried this with heavy substitutions. Tfa vanilla custard instead of caps, tfa strawberry (lower percentage) instead of sweet strawberry, and fw grape instead of grape juice. Also cut back the cookie to 0.5 and added in 2% tfa peanut butter. The tfa strawberry and fw grape makes more of a grape jam, but this on shake and vape this is delicious. I'll let it steep and work out the recipe a bit more and post back. THANKS!
It's a very flexible recipe, I'm a big fan of FW's grape. I just personally enjoy strawberry jam over grape :) Thanks for the feedback!
This is actually the first grape I've tried, fw had the best reviews at the time when I ordered. I would have tried your recipe exactly the way it was but I don't have a good chunk of the flavors.
Anyway, I mixed a few batches with varying flavor percentages last night, gave them a nice warm bath, and let them sit overnight. Here's the best of the 5 so far.
TFA peanut butter 2%
TFA vanilla custard 2%
Acetyl Pyrazine 0.25%
FA Cookie 0.5%
TFA strawberry 3%
FW grape 5%
At first it tasted like eating a spoonful of jelly, then a spoonful of peanut butter. Now it's more smoothed out and I suspect it will get better with age. Flexible recipe indeed!
I'll kick us off with some Ghostly Grapple this week.
This is a flavor profile I haven't touched in ages, some people love it, others hate it. It's a good combination of sweet and sour. It's candy like sweetness is quite yummy, this is super flavorful with no chemical taste to it.
Enjoy:
3% TFA Grape Juice
3% TFA Grape Candy
6% TFA Green Apple
0.5% TFA Pear
1.5% TFA Vanillin
3% TFA Vanilla Swirl
1% TFA Cotton Candy (10% EM)
1% TFA Sweetener
0.5% Citric Acid (10%)
The grapes compliment each other well with the candy aspect of Grape Candy at the forefront. TFA Green Apple is very candylike also which further accentuates the candy note in grape candy. The pear compliments the apple as well adding some fullness and lessening the candy note. The Grape Juice rounds out the rest of the grape flavor without making it entirely overpowering. The Vanillin and Vanilla Swirl help to tie it all together and smooth it out.
This recipe is definitely more grape than apple and is quite in your face.
You can definitely mix it without the EM, Sweetener and Citric Acid, and it'll still be quite similar, however the apple won't pop quite as much and the sweetness will be dulled but still very prevalent.
Total DIY newbie here. I still have not received all my shipments yet from my first order (Amazon WTF), and have not even mixed a single bottle yet, but I wanna play!
The first thing I think of when I hear grapes is my Grandma's grape salad. I can still remember watching her make this when I was a kid when we visited her well over 30 years ago. She'd use half white half red grapes, cream cheese, sour cream, sugar, vanilla, and pecans from the trees out front. I searched the flavorings and might have found a decent recipe for this using Cream Cheese Icing (LA) for the sugar vanilla and cream cheese; and Greek Yogurt (TPA) for the sour cream as I thought it would add the "twang" of the sour cream. I do not have the flavorings so everything here is based on what I think would be the percentages based on her recipe.
Grandma's Grape Salad
-
8% Grape (CAP)
-
3% Cream Cheese Icing (LA)
-
2% Greek Yogurt (TPA)
-
1% Pecan (TPA)
I recently got some TFA Grape Candy and couldn't decide what to do with it, so I mixed up all the "candy" flavors I have. A non-vaper told me it smelled like Skittles. It was a pretty good vape after sitting for about a month.
TFA Grape Candy 4%
TFA Musk Candy .5%
TFA Cotton Candy 2%
TFA Rose Candy 2%
TFA Candy Apple 2%
TFA Violet Candy 2%
I have CAP Grape which im having issues with cause it smells like rubbing alcohol. LA grape colorless has a musty smell which also is hard to work eith. Grape juice and grape candy are much more pleasant and what I've had the most success with. Those mixed with pear, apple, or watermelon is pretty good start.
- 3% grape candy
- 3% grape juice
- 3% Lan grape colorless
- 2% CAP double apple
- 2% Watermelon of your choice
- 1% EM
- .5% CA
I was working on a jazzy boba tea clone recipe. This what I have so far.
2% fresh cream fa
2% Sweet cream tfa
2% grape clear la
3% Green tea fa
0.25% Jasmine fa
1% marshmallow fa
1 drop super sweet cap per 10ml
2 drops lemon juice per 10ml (trying to make the grape pop)
I just got fw grape soda the other day so I'm thinking of trying that in place of the LA. I think it's a closer grape to the one that is in the jazzy boba. Be careful with the jasmine. I actually think this is one of those flavors that should be diluted (1ml jasmine 9ml PG). Its so strong that 1 extra drop is total over kill! This is a sweet milky tea vape! This version is actually really good but as always could be better :)
SMOOTH GRAPISH GOODNESS
Strawberry ripe (TFA) 3%
Strawberry (TFA) 3%
Blueberry wild (TFA) 3%
Blueberry xtra (TFA) 3%
Grape candy (TFA) 1%
Pomegranate (TFA) 1%
Dragonfruit (TFA) 1%
Vanilla swirl (TFA) 2%
This is a really good vape the grape stands out the most not sure how but it does i let one batch steep for a week just as good maybe calmed down a little but not much if any.
I would have to say one of my favorite vapes 9 out of 10 for sure.
