Hey guys!
Was over at ECC and they handed us some samples of their new cream flavors.
Was hoping to have a review of them before I posted this, but I figured some people might have already tried them. Will update or create a new thread once I get some reviews of the flavors in!
The released: Butter cream, Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, Vanilla Whipped Cream and Bavarian Cream.
Just checked their website and it is released on there as well. They're DA/A/AP free and smell pretty good.
If anyone else got these feel free to chime in. Hope to have them tested this week and i'll give my feedback on them :)
EDIT:
Here are all my reviews thus far. Will update as I go through them.
All flavors were tested on fresh cotton with my RDA rinsed in between. Tasting on a Mutation XV4
Butter Cream
So i'm trying the Butter Cream right now... It's interesting. i'll do my best to describe it and see if it's useful. I'm vaping it standalone at 6%. Honestly tastes like straight up butter. You know that smell of smell of butter when you melt it, it's kind of like sour almost? That's what it tastes like to me.
NOT a good standalone vape that's for sure, percentage might be too high as well. Good flavor at 6% but not in-your-face. Could definitely see some use to this in a complex recipe, but not as a main feature unless you just love butter.
It's butter. Best way to explain it. Very good mouthfeel to it as well, it coats your entire mouth.
Ice Cream
Also testing it at 6%. Supposed to be a Vanilla Ice Cream. Vanilla component smells similar to their French Vanilla. Tastes like French Vanilla with a really slight buttery-ness to it. Unless the butter cream just stained my entire RDA with it's flavor haha.
Tastes like French Vanilla Ice Cream. It's hard for me to say that it's exactly Ice Cream, just because for ME it's hard to translate that flavor into vape and for me to say it's ice cream for sure. I can see it though. Good mouthfeel. Good flavor.
Can see it being used as a French Vanilla alternative with some twist to it. Pretty rich. I'm surprised they've been able to create these flavors with the richness and mouthfeel they have without D/A/AP.
Standalone... I wouldn't vape this standalone, but I can see that it is possible and some people might enjoy it. Not off-putting.
Whipped Cream
My throat is a little raw, so I wasn't able to try this one as much as I'd like. So i'm going to leave this vague. Doesn't really taste like whipped cream. If you're looking for a straight whipped cream, TFA is better. Taste a slight vanilla note with some cream.
At 6% the flavor is pretty light. Good mouthfeel. Can see this being used as an additive like Marshmallow is used by some.
Bavarian Cream
Didn't swap my cotton for this one, dripped it right after the whipped cream. It tastes like the Ice Cream with less Vanilla alongg with a hint of the butter cream. Slightly more creamy than the rest. Not really sure what to think of this one. It's too similar to the other ones for me to find a use for it, as I would rather use the other flavors in appropriate amounts to compliment whatever recipe. Might just be my palette though.
Tested at 6% as well. Good mouthfeel like the rest.
> Butter cream.
You mean I could've made a motherfucking buttercream icing birthday cake vape for my birthday the other day?
Sunuvabitch, Capella...now I've gotta wait to vape my cake & have it, too.
FW has a Butter Cream =P
I only have one FW flavor that pretty much only gets used for a twinkie vape once in a blue moon(yellow cake). Not really looking for more FW except ones I hear about like tres leches & such. =p
I picked up the samples at ECC also; working with the Whipped Cream now. Spoke with the reps; it's supposed to be a blend of Whipped Cream, Bavarian Cream, and a light European creme fraiche.
Not too sweet on it's own, but definitely creamy with a moist mouth feel.
Time to try Ice Cream and Butter Cream tonight!
LMK how that butter cream is...I've been looking for a good one for a while.
"Vanilla Whipped Cream" being "a blend of" Whipped cream, Bavarian, & light Fresh Cream sounds intriguing...but not sure how I feel about that.
Haha same boat on the vanilla whipped cream. It definitely doesn't smell like plain old whipped cream, but it might be a useful flavor in some way. Will have to try it out :). Hoping to test these all out within the next few hours so i'll report back on it and the butter cream.
I grabbed a sample pack from the owner while I was talking to him. They all seemed to add more to mouthfeel with a very light cream background note than any particularly contributing flavor. Very happy that they are D/AP free though. Gonna work with them some more, I think they could be useful in fruit blends where a lot of us use marshmallow to add mouthfeel/smooth out high notes.
Please let me know if the whipped cream has a real whipped cream flavor you can taste over the vanilla, thanks.
Damn didn't see cap there. So many booths this year!
