Ok, the usuals, I have read the side bar and rules, I'm not looking for a Hawk Sauce clone. I'm not attempting a HS clone. I've done a few mixes off clone recipes in the spreadsheets mentioned on here lately. I've got the flavors needed for a juice clone called The Dude. I like sweet and tropical flavors like pineapple, mango and berries but I love hawk sauce. For the way it combines a little subtle mint (not menthol) along with berries so I'm game to try this Dude out. But I'm interested in adding a little mint.
What I'm interested in finding out is, you DIYers out there who liked Hawk Sauce, I mean really liked it. What do you find yourself liking to add to recipes in the mint department if applicable. I even detect a little something that's slightly chemically but in a good way in HS. Almost like a clean, almost herbal or floral note.
I actually wouldn't have said I'd like MVB's Candy Cane but I've gotten a sample and I'm adding it to stuff as I drip and it, too, adds nice sweet but slightly astringent bite. I know that's weird but, to put it in perspective, I love the smell of fresh rain and ozone from new electronics. I wouldn't try vaping ozone mind you, but that artificial, chemical scent, I find really pleasant and enjoyable as well. Strange flavors like that are something I'd like to experiment with and I'm looking for a good short list to try and order first next.
Does that even make sense to anyone on here?
I believe you are searching for Koolada. It's basically menthol without the mint (and secret ingredient of HS).
Interesting. I am interested in koolada. I actually may have ordered some of that along with my other juices for Dude. I'm having a hard time imagining menthol without the mint but I'll definitely give it a try. Thanks!
I would describe Koolada as a cooling effect similar to menthol, but without the intense throat hit. Just be aware it has a tendency to mute other flavors when used in larger amounts.
It sits next to my Menthol. They are very similar, yet different enough to notice. Hard to describe until you smell/taste it, but it always make me think back to my HS phase. It's nice to use when you want the cooling of menthol, but might not want the mint to interfere with your other flavors.
Koolada for some reason raises all my taste bugs and makes my lips numb, however, HS never did that to me. I mixed my koolada at 3%
am I the only vapor who hasn't tried hawk sauce?
