Looking for some help from a handful of individuals, namely those that have too much time on their hands, are proficient with GoogleDocs, have sampled a LARGE number of flavors from multiple vendors and have taken copious notes that are willing to share some of their discoveries with this community in one place
I'm working on a sick compilation of flavor reviews, tasting notes, ratings, recommended use percentages but it'll take me months to accomplish this task by myself (the more the merrier as taste buds vary so much as well).
I'm looking for 4 individuals.
Please let me know if you are interested in participating.
My Liege, I would gladly follow you to the depths of hell. But alas, my flavor experience is vastly inferior to that of a being such as you. I humbly decline thine offer, whilst lending mine own uncommon flavors' descriptions if thou hast the need.
That may actually serve well as I know you've tried some weird shit.
I'll be in touch.
If your reviews were anything like your tfa honey "incident" I'd pay to watch that shit.
I may find some more terrible flavors and do something with them. But usually my tasting reviews are srs face.
Have you thought about creating a wiki just for flavors? A few months back I created one on wikia with the intention of doing flavor notes but it never took off due to unexpected work hours increase.
Thought about it...doubt it would take off any better. Plus Reddit's character maximums blow.
I just don't think opening it up for public editing on a third party site will get it done, I think instead I just need to get a few people to focus with me in their free time for a week or two to get it cranked out and done.
This isn't another dead Nigerian dictator money scam again, is it? I can't afford a 5th loss.
muahahaha damn straight it is...
Basically, trying to compile something similar to what those euro guys did with their spreadsheet but include tasting notes and ratings on flavors and have it be something we can continue to work on (rather than being un-editable like theirs).
Currently just inputting all the different flavors available from different vendors and will take it from there getting people to comment, rate and recommend percentages.
Some of those percentages on that euro-sheet are insanely high... would be great to get a refined version from members of this sub.
Probably don't need a "single flavor percentage" column, as almost all DIYers mix flavors, instead of vaping singles.
I don't have many current notes on my large collection of flavors but I have no problem mixing up a large amount of 5ml batches of each flavor I have and sharing those notes. Gives me something productive to do, although I'm not sure I'd be able to go through all those flavors in ~2 weeks.
>namely those that have too much time on their hands,
Way to much free time here
>are proficient with GoogleDocs,
Yep, got that too.
>have sampled a LARGE number of flavors from multiple vendors
hundreds.
>and have taken copious notes
Here is my big fail. No notes on individual flavors, mostly because my taste buds are totally messed up. :(
I'm willing to start taking notes and sending them to you in the name of science. As well as deriving concentrates from my somewhat large tea collection.
What method of mixing are you using? Syringe? Weight? Volume?
I mix by weight but for the purpose of this project it's largely irrelevant.
How is that irrelevant. If you are compiling flavors notes and percentages used your 5% is different then someones 5% with a fat syringe that actually is using 7 ml of flavorings.
well if you are using a syringe to measure that's off by 20%, you probably need new syringes or anything you ever try to mix will be wrong...
The margin for error when it comes to flavors being mixed with a disregard for specific gravity is +/- 6%.
I can't help if peoples equipment is incompetent...
I probably couldn't be much help because I only have TFA flavors and have used about 8 of them so far, but I'd be willing to contribute what I can or contribute in the future once I've had the time to test all of my flavors. I'm also buying new flavors soon so Id be willing order some of the less popular or untested things that need sampling.
I am currently working through some of my Nude Nicotine flavors. I will be making a post on here about them with some simple recipes... But it is going to take me a while on the recipes. I have 8 of their flavors, I believe... And have tried them all as single flavors.
I should seriously get around to e-mailing you before this gets out of hand -- I think you're about to start on a separate quest to reduplicate some of the exact research & materials that I've outlined for my 'DIYrepubliq' project, on which I had already mentioned that I was hoping to enlist your help (along with a handful of other pimp mixers & some lab/supply collaborators who I've also been talking for some time now). I would much rather you be a partner in the project I've been laying the groundwork for, and bring your ideas and expertise and skill, than have us working in parallel and wasting time and effort when we could be collaborating -- that's the entire point of the whole DIYrepubliq project in a nutshell. I'm gonna e-mail you tonight.
