Atm I have a Kayfun Lite+ (single coil @1,2ohm) and Marquis (dual coil @0,7ohm) - both clones from Tobeco which probably doesnt matter but now you know.
Let's take my current favourite single flavor mix as an example here. FW Green Apple @10%. It's great on my RDA. I love it. But on my RTA the flavor just isn't there, it's very weak, subtle.
I understand that RDAs will always give better flavor but what I'm trying to ask here is how do you guys find that sweet spot so it tastes great on RTA and in the same time isn't too strong on RDA.
I hope you can help me here. I really don't know when to just stop and say "this is it!".
EDIT: Sorry for the confusion, by "strong" I meant how much % flavor :)
I have never managed to find that sweet spot either
What I do is mix my flavours as a concentrate and separately keep 500ml bottles of unflavoured liquid at ( 90/10 1.5mg nic ) and ( 50/50 6mg nic )
I then make up 30ml bottles of 90/10 for the dripper with 3.33% flavour and 50/50 for the tank with 6.66% flavour as i need them.
I only have 5 flavours I regularly mix so it's not too much more work. If you are using single flavours its as simple as making up 2 bottles of unflavoured liquid at your preferred ratios.

Same. I stay between 1 and 2 usually and can't find a tank I enjoy enough to use regularly enough to figure out anything different for it.
I think I will do the same. Was thinking about going down with nic to 3mg and up with VG for dripping anyway. This should work. One question tho. What do you mean by "flavours as a concentrate"?
What I meant was, I mix my flavours together and steep them before I add them to my liquid.
For example i have a really simple 40% Lemon 40% Lime 20% brown sugar mix. I make up 50ml of this at a time (20ml Lemon, 20ml Lime, 10ml Brown sugar). I then add either 1ml to a 30ml bottle of 90/10 or 2ml to a 30ml bottle of 50/50 as I need them.
Obviously this reduces my nicotine percentage a little, but I can't tell the difference between my own and pre-made 6mg in terms of strength
I've run into the same thing, having used protank variants for ages, I grabbed a couple of subtanks and the flavor is overwhelming with the subtank in comparison. My only thought is to do flavors specifically for each. Like TFA VBIC at 10% for the ST and 15% for the PT. I don't drip really and have tried and it's the same; blow my ass off strong flavor and I'd simply have to do 2 different flavor levels
Then I wonder, how does this work with commercial juice? I've never bought vendor juice but how would one deal with this when you have no control over the flavor intensity? Does say, Nana Cream knock your ass off in a dripper and taste weak in a tank? I've had many comments when I recommend percentages that it's way too high and sure, if you're dripping it, VBIC at 15% is intense to say the least. In a PT it's rich and delicious. I'm surprised there's no reflection of this in commercial juice, like flavor levels tailored to the device type. Or do drippers just dilute their juice? Or do most people just use the one device? I guess there's some questions we're just not meant to have the answer to. Stupid galactic cosmos.
Glad you asked this question, I've had difficulty with this too. I test all my juices (80/20) on an RDA, but I prefer to use tanks when they're finalized, so I'm constantly finding myself going back to a supposedly finished recipe and tooling around with it more.
I would love to know this too. On that note what build should one put in a dripper to best mimic the tank experience? This would help me so much to know how to build my test dripper so that my flavors are correct in my tanks. I subohm on a Subtank (RBA), Goblin, and Goblin Mini for my every day tanks, I may end up with a Cuthulu V2 at some point. This may solve the OP's issue as well if he can build his dripper to mute the flavor like a tank so he is not surprised.
You could grab a cheap magma clone off fasttech, build a Si gle coil, and only use one air hole. That'll give you very little air flow. Build it at like 0.8 to 1 ohm most likely, and somewhere around 30w or so. That should give you something close to what an ego tank gives.
