ALL PICS AT BOTTOM IF YOU HAVE LINK ISSUES. IT WAS BEING WEIRD
Ok Guys so I recently Purchased 2 bottles of e-juice from gggejuice and decided to make a small review. and support the man by giving him some deserved moolah. (money) (2 30ml bottles worth that is lol. I know...he's rich now amma right)
Now of course, It's only two flavors so I can't give a full line review or anything but here are a few things I CAN say about the Juice from our well known BotBoy.
#1 Customer Support
Shipping, receipt emailed time, ordering ease etc. A++ Here!
No complaints whatsoever (except one very minor one). exactly what's too be expected from a good company. I might add that I may have decided to mess with him a little ;) You can see that here as you will read my notes I put in the order haha,
Too which he replied on here couldn't draw and would get the wife on it. HOWEVER. look at pics too see what ended up being HIS Magnificent piece of glorious art!!
And of Course /u/botboy YOU DID NOT DISAPPOINT !! haha absolutely LOVE IT
Also He gave me a nice present in there with a discount code. Not sure If this is for every customer or not but it's very Nice of him! No you can't have my code
Ok I said except for one very minor complaint. If I had to make a con, It would be that the prices/total of what I paid and each product was not displayed on the receipt that was sent with the package. It just said N/A (weird)
#2 Bottling
This was Nice. Plastic bottles, fairly hard (My Preferred)
It came in a plastic zip lock bag "as do most" but what impressed me, that isn't supper common was the peel off shrink wrap that was over the ENTIRE individual bottles. Nice touch !
And Finally, the most important part
#3 Flavors
First one. Ba'nana Cream.
NOTE: I refused too look at his recipe's before doing these reviews as to not taint my opinions and such
Smell: a slight wiff gives a delicate creamy banana smell. However a full "sniff" if you will, gives off some very noticeable citrus tones.
Taste:
This flavor on the first hit gave me a nice, creamy, citrus, slight banana flavor. Every now and than I get notes of (kiwi?) Which surprises me, but I believe that is where the citrus comes into play. It surprisingly plays a role in this banana cream quite well Very Very tasty.
The flavor pretty much stays the same at most temps, and throughout multiple hits. Definitely Vapable ALL DAY. Smooth, but in no way dull or flat. Doesn't punch you in the face with Flavor.
Inhale, slight strawberry? and creamy goodness
Exhale, Banana, Cream, Citrus (Kiwi?) and ever so slightly bready note.
Rating out of 10, with categories.
Accuracy: 8/10. Would like to taste a little more banana in a banana cream (still very tasty of course)
All Day Vapability: 9.5/10. easy for the pallet to get along with. potent enough to not loose it's flavor as you keep vaping on it.
Tastiness: 9/10. Well thought out recipe, slightly more complex than
Rating AVG: 8.83 (Rounds to 9)
Bias/Personal/Summary comments: Delicious ADV. just scrumptious!!
Second. Awesome Apple Pie
Smell: Smells like Cinnamon apple. No matter how you smell it. (strong on cinnamon)
Taste: This flavor gave me an impact of cinnamon right away (not a big cinnamon guy, but No room for a bias review, my pallet can over look personal preference pretty easy) Little too no apple tasted on warmer hits. (65-70 watts with .13 ohm coil) Strong Cinnamon. avg hit, apple comes out as a back ground note. Pie flavor never goes away which is a good thing. Definitely a flavorFULL vape. packs a bit of a punch with cinnamon but doesn't quite rip your throat out (it thinks about it though)
Very strong in flavor. blast of Cinnamon and pie crust (predominately cinnamon)
Inhale: Cinnamon
Exhale: Slight apple, pie crust
Rating out of 10. With Categories
Accuracy: 7/10. Pretty Low in the apple department. Pie Is there but not full bodied. Cinnamon is pretty dominant here (Description says "Fuji apple, Pie Crust, Spices" In that order. I feel like It should be reversed
All Day Vapability: 7.5/10 The amount of Cinnamon in this one will make it harder to vape ALL day. can definitely vape it for a few hours and love it, however the cinnamon brings slight coughing and throat irritation to most. It's a little strong in this one.
Tastiness. 9/10. Definitely a good recipe. Flavors are strong with this one. won't quite blow your pallet out and can definitely be a good reset vape
Rating AVG. 7.83 (Rounds to 8).
Bias/Personal/Summary comments: Tasty recipe! If you aren't into Cinnamon at all though, this may not be for you. definitely enjoyed drinking a glass of milk and vaping this one!
All In All. killer job botboy! and Thanks for the amazing pic!!! It's hung on my wall haha!
I encourage everyone to give his DIY pre mix flavors a try!! and ask for a pic! let's get this man on his art game!! HAHA ok JK. don't be mean like me XD!
<3 BotBoy. I gave the most Honest and unbiased review a person could I feel. hope it does justice! thanks for the great juice!
P.S something tells me this 30 ml of ba'nana cream won't last long ;)
Let the Awesome Apple Pie steep for three+ weeks and the cinnamon falls off quite a bit to become much more balanced.
I actually adjusted the recipe about 5 months ago to include more cinnamon as reviews during the first 5 months had a general consensus of not enough cinnamon. Additionally with the previous recipe, our B&Ms were getting virtually 0 cinnamon after it had steeped for a month.
Our juice is supplied pre-steeped to B&Ms but we adjusted the recipe on all.
Still working on an even better variation of Apple Pie, just need a few more weeks to dial it in.
Once steeped it's quite ideal IME.
P.S. Keep in mind that cinnamon will always be more prevalent the higher you tune your wattage.
Thanks from the review, cant buy honesty =)
Edit: Regarding the packing slip, I could most certainly ship with an invoice instead but a lot of people don't like financial information (even costs) being sent through the mail.
You can always find your order history on our website or in your email inbox including prices.
>steep for 3 weeks
Ha! Like it can last that long around me. I'm probably going to order a couple concentrates soon. What are your two favorites (besides AAP)?
Of the concentrates I offer, AAP, Ba'Nana Cream, Vicious Vanilla, Maniacal Mango, Pleasing Peanuts in that order.
You should add instructions to the receipt that specify how long the juice should be aged for
Meh, different tastebuds for different people. Generally theory should always be to mix it, vape it fresh, if not to perfect for you, try again a few days later etc...
I have thought about adding something for the flavor concentrates section (we're working on pre-steeping ALL orders for the Signature Line, not there yet, but have some ideas to make it happen).
P.S I hope nothing offended you here. thanks for the tip on apple pie! gonna put it away and let it steep about a week or two (dont want the cin to dissapear)
Invoice packing I understand now. Not a big complaint at all btw!
I hope you got the main summary was that shopping with you was an all around AWESOME experience!! :)
9/10 for the entire experience! :) In fact I'll put that in the bottom.
All said, I did do a 100% honest opinion review.
Great flavors man and keep up the good work. I hope you feel like I did you justice in the review mate :)
...so
this is a juice review?
in the diy sub?
huh.
i mean, i get that they're botboy's juices, but... this is the diy sub. i don't think i'm wrong in thinking this is misplaced.
I feel as though you are wrong (no offense intended)
But BotBoy Is a DIY'R who is frequent on this sub. reviewing his juice that he DIY'd himself? nothing wrong with that.
>(no offense intended)
None taken, I always welcome respectful dialogue and argument.
>juice that he DIY'd himself
I mean... all juice is done by someone.
> nothing wrong with that
Maybe if it was accompanied with recipes it would make sense to be in the DIY sub. Or a discussion of flavor components, or something.
Would it make sense to post reviews of Grizzly Vapes? Loler is a "DIY'R." Would it make sense to post reviews of Bombies juice? He's a "DIY'R." I don't think so.
I come to this sub for discussion about recipes, flavors, mixing technique, etc. Not reviews of commercially sold juice.
I get that you're hyped. Botboy contributes tons, posts yummy recipes, runs helpful group buys, and is a mod and all; but I sincerely think this content is wrong for this sub. There's no rule against this type of content on the sidebar, so whatever I guess. I just think it's misplaced.
Nice review, Doc! I'm getting an error message on your links, though.
I was scared of that. but i had a friend check them out and he said they worked :\
which ones?
I received Nana cream from botboy, and I have to agree with what you said, needs more banana, but it's Def an ADV. I didn't get tired of it. I didn't get much citrus notes, but I'm terrible at that kind of thing. I tastes some sort of apple or pear, and it was stronger than I expected. Either way I enjoyed it, just not what I thought it was going to be.
> apple or pear
I think that's the strawberry combo playing with your tongue? I didn't get those. but i could be wrong
Good reviews, man!
My take on the Awesome Apple Pie was different.. I ussed a tank and vaped it @22w on a .8 ohm twisted 28ga coil. I didn't get overwhelmed with cinnamon, and it the apple was nice and subtle. I'm going to let the rest of my bottle sit for a while and see what it's like in a few weeks as recommended. I should also throw it in a dripper. One thing I did notice, and maybe it's just my imagination, but the vapor from this liquid seems extra velvety for some reason. It was hitting the tongue very smooth and dense. That could be in part to the build I have, but I have run a couple other tanks of flavors through this build, and they weren't the same. I usually don't notice things like this.
I also have a bottle of Guinevere's Guava I mixed up at 17%, and it's really nice. It satisfies that tropical craving I get every so often. It's not overbearing or perfume-y. Just a well dialed in flavor that's easy to vape for a while. Solid. These premixed flavor concentrates are great. I'm looking forward to giving the other ones a go soon.
nice man. I however bought the regular bottle of already made juice. so if you used a concentrate he is selling, maybe you mixed it a lot lower than he does? Not really sure to be honest
I have a bottle of premade AAP, but maybe I'm less sensitive to cinnamon right now. I've been working for a few weeks on a tobacco that has 1% of Horchata, and vaping the hell out of it... so I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case.
> It's not overbearing or perfume-y. Just a well dialed in flavor that's easy to vape for a while.
All of our flavors with the exception of Maniacal Mango are recommended for use (and we mix them for sale) with the minimum amount of flavor needed to deliver a satisfying ADV that your taste buds won't tire of or become immune to.
Think of it like a juice line that fits the taste buds of most DIY'ers (DIY'ers tend to prefer a lot less flavor bang than what you get from commercial juice). Sticking with that mantra, I wanted all of our flavors to be ADV quality, rather than something that tires you out.
Because of this I've had people complain that there's just not enough flavor in my juice, I just tell them to go elsewhere if that's what they are looking for. /shrug. I also have people tell me they love how subtle our flavors are as they are still very satisfying and unlike other juices that deliver vapers tongue in a few hours or days, they never grow tired of my flavors =).
It's a fine line to walk but you can never appease everyone.
I got that sense when vaping the flavors for the first time - and that's what I prefer for the most part. If I want stronger flavors (or I'm taking some tasting notes), I switch to dripping. I haven't had vaper's tongue since I started DIY, and prefer to keep it that way! It seems like whenever I buy a commercial juice, it's over-flavored, and they'll sit around for weeks. Even some of my favorite commercial liquids are just too strong for me now.
I mixed up the Guava a little stronger than the lower end of the recommended percentages, but I don't feel it's too strong, but in hindsight, the 15% would be perfect.
Great work, and thanks again!
I got a 6ml sample of Awesome Apple Pie with my bottle of Joy from the group buy. Fantastic flavor. Almost 50ml gone in a little under 2 days. I can see why this is the flavor he won't give the recipe for. I'll agree on the cinnamon being a little too "in your face". It tends to gunk coils after about a half a day. BUT. Those are my only complaints.
Yeah amazing flavor. In the general review I wanted to put put All day vapability conservatively because a lot of people cant vape cinnamon all day (myself included)
I know others who would kill for it and may as well chug a bottle of dragons breath by mad alchemist LOL.
Delicious flavor though!!
Another fun review from you know who, thank you!
As i was reading i got this weird feeling that i needed to run down and check my curing shelf. What did i find you ask? Well let me tell you, it was a FULL bottle of Ba'nana Cream and half a bottle of Vicious Vanilla from 12/09/2014 in the old green/ gold bottles.
I am so happy that i could cry right now but im not a wussy so i wont! hehe.
Now to head to stairs to clean a couple Plumes and get to drippin.
HAHA niiiccce!
Me so happy! Could have sworn i finished all this stuff right away but now i can hear my wife telling me to put some of it away. Ill save this until my birthday in a couple weeks.
Thanks for the reminder. :)
That's the old Banana Cream recipe sadly, not nearly as good IMO but still quite similar.
Let me know what you think of the Vicious Vanilla after 8 months steeping, it'll be REALLY dark if it was exposed to any light, but damn is it good after 6+ months.
Hey /u/Botboy141
Figured it would make you feel good to know that I'm unfortunately not going to use that 20%off code :( i wanted too...BUT I put it too better use.
My buddy has been looking to get into vaping for a while now. He was with me on skype while writing this review and was like dude this is taking you FOREVER! I wanna read it when ur done XD
so i linked it to him (his first time looking at reddit as well haha)
and he was like ok...I'm making the call. what do I need. so i linked him all the stuff he would need for a nice set up. (no vape shops in his area) at the end we got to where he needed juice. it only made sense.
Naturally you saved this man 20% on his first Juice purchase. I think he ended up getting a total of 120ml's :)
#WIN
edit: he decided to be nicer than me and spared you from requesting a picture XD
Haha awesome. So happy to help someone new get into vaping.
That coupon is on the back of the card for every order we send out.
Funny thing though, half of our repeat customers never use it...
