Help with a recipe
submitted about 10 years ago by SMOKE_ALL_THE_THINGS

I tried to use my fw cookie butter to make a flavor. I don't know what is causing this to taste like wood or something. Could it be too much flavor % or the cap peanut butter which definitely tastes like real peanuts.

Have you tried the cookie butter on it's own? It's the only flavor listed that I haven't tried and none of the others taste like wood at the percentages shown. I always point my finger at FW first when something is wrong.

What hotwings said. Try each flavor by itself. It's the easiest way to narrow down on an odd nuance. I haven't tried FW cookie butter. I am not a fan of CAP peanut butter, but rather a fan of TFA's. It is much more like a creamy peanut butter, like Skippy's peanut butter. CAP was too nutty and dry for me.

It could also be an off-tasting top note that will dissipate after steeping.
