I'm working on putting together my next order, and have decided I want to try to make a sloe gin flavor to use in creating Sloe Gin Fizz and Alabama Slammer recipes. I'll get FA Gin for that.
Question, should I start by trying INW Plum or TFA Plum with it? And does anyone have any idea where to start, ratio-wise, on combining those with FA Gin in a way that'll taste like sloe gin?
Sloe gin tastes nothing like Regular gin, it tastes more like plum brandy.
I know, I was going to use Gin to get the alcohol flavor in there, do you think FA Brandy would be a better choice?
I haven't tried fa brandy but I would imagine it to be quite "raisiny"
I read something about FA Brandy being "boozy" - which would be the effect I'm looking for with the possible use of FA Gin. I definitely don't want want raisiny from the alcohol flavor, should get more than enough of that from a plum flavor. Maybe I don't need Brandy or Gin for one of them. I'm already planning on putting TFA Kentucky Bourbon in there, possibly that will add enough booze to call it Alabama Slammer. As for the sloe gin fizz though? I don't know.
