So I store my nicotine in the freezer like a good person in an amber Boston bottle. However ive been storing the pg and by in the fridge right below, when I go to mix that VG takes hours it seems to be drawn into my syringe to weigh out. Would I be alright storing those two upstairs at my mix station (two stories in California) it gets sometimes up to 85 F up stairs. Edit: bad bad engrish
VG and PG are not nearly as picky and bitchy as Nicotine is. However, for PG It's best left in the freezer because its still easy to work with as it is high in viscosity.
VG on the other hand is a little different and does take some storage care (but not to the degree of nicotine)
The main problem you will get with VG is the fact that it will want to become very thin (we will go further in detail in a minuet) the best storage is a freezer as well. as PG nor VG will freeze. but it does become a bitchy pain to work with when kept that cold.
The correct storage without making it to hard to work with is as follows:
#1: Keep in cool place
this is because if it is too hot it will become very thin and suck up humidity easier making it permanently thin.
#2: keep it in a stable environment
If the temperature is changing frequently it will slightly (ever so slightly) expand and compress the bottle, It will also create condensation just like a glass of water and will absorb that condensation making it, once again, thinned out .
#3: Closed off to outside air (air tight cap)
This one is pretty easy to achieve, keep the lid on. This is because of humidity in the air getting to it once again, and thinning it out.
thinned VG is about the most you will have as a con of bad storage. but it affects your recipe's more than you would think.
It will also affect the flavor of the ejuice. almost making it taste slightly watered down. or just not as strong. now this may be surprising as VG isn't the flavor carrier, we all know that.
But imagine making 50/50 Blend 50 PG and 50 WATER LOLOL. yeah now imagine the taste difference...now it makes a little more sense no?

wouldn't a delay due to thick pg/vg be worth the wait, rather than spoiling in heat?
Does PG/VG spoil in heat? I never even considered that I might need to refrigerate mine and I haven't noticed any issues. Nor have I noticed pre-mixed juices spoiling in heat, or been advised to refrigerate them. Heck, I bought my PG online and it wasn't shipped cold, so I assume it wasn't refrigerated when it was sitting around in an Amazon warehouse either.
Find a coffee warmer thing and when you are ready to mix, pour some VG into a coffee cup and put it on the warmer. Give it a few minutes and you're ready to go.
Thanks for the feedback everyone I've decided to just pull them about before mixing to get the VG up to room temp while I'm away at class. If that works I'll go back to that method otherwise that warmer idea wouldn't be a terrible investment because I could use it to cure the juice as well.
How about not drawing it up through a syringe? Just pour it in from the back end with your finger covering the nozzle.
I like you, thinking outside the box. Although I'm afraid I would cause a nasty mess on my mix station. Plus getting those small numbers perhaps it just needs some practice. Next batch I'll try it out and come back with either a sad story or more gushing from your simple and wonderful idea.
Its a lot easier than it sounds, and i dont have a steady hand. With cold VG you dont even need to block the nozzle as it wont seep through even with a 25ml syringe. I do the same with my PG and nic concentrate. If you happen to add a little too much, you can just let a little out to get the correct measurement. Keep the vaper towel handy to mop up any spills.
I keep them in a refrigerator in their bulk containers, and also in 1/2 liter containers that are always filled. When it comes time to mix, I generally warm the VG in a pot of hot water on the stove, only enough that it draws easily into the syringe. If it sloshes around like PG instead of honey, its warm enough to draw.
