I just tasted my first homemade juice and it's literally miles better than anything I've tasted. I didn't use a recipe and just went with what I thought felt right. It's just amazing. Absolutely phenomenal.
Congrats on your first success. Starting out I had more failures than success's, so don't get discouraged if your next mix isn't up to par.
Also, let this be a lesson to learn early in your mixing endeavor. When you mix anything, DOCUMENT EVERYTHING you do so you can replicate it later if desired. Whether it be by volume, drops or weight.
Early on I made some wonderful concoctions, sadly I did not document anything and they are lost forever. Happy mixing, the real fun and pleasures for you have just begun.
I have another flavor breathing a bit. Smells a little like fusel alcohol at the moment. Hopefully it will be a really nice blackberry cheesecake with shaved almonds.
I recommend making a simple account on www.e-liquid-recipes.com to keep track of your experiments. It's super handy because you can input the flavors you have and search recipes that only include those flavors.
sooo...how about that recipe you whipped up ;) did you take any notes?
Sure, it's probably not actually that good compared to stuff you guys make but it tastes great to me.
60/40
vg/pg
0mg nicotene because it hasn't gotten here and I'm impatient.
These are all LA flavorings because I'm just starting and they were cheap.
10% Lemonade
6% Cran-Raspberry
2% Apple
1% sparkling wine
Needs more cran-raspberry and a touch more apple probably.
I think i will try
9% lemonade
7%cran-raspberry
3% apple and
1% sparkling wine next time. It might just be that crazy lemonade kick that I'm loving.
If you enjoy it, then you did a great job. It's funny because I was thinking of making some raspberry lemonade. thanks for the recipe dude! enjoy!
It's the lack of a sweetener probably. I find "premium" juices to be massively too sweet and don't use any sweetener in my DIY. Much better.
For me is kind of like cooking, most store bought food aren't as good as homemade. I usually don't follow a recipe, a bit of this, little more of that adjust the sweetness depending on how I feel and it usually comes out to my liking. The only real difference is how long it takes sometimes to taste what you've made.
I had this same luck starting out. Just started pouring flavorings in the bottles until it smelled good. Never measured or anything. The major down fall to this way of doing it is. It is damn near impossible to recreate what you did if you want to make it again. I suggest even if you are going to do the dump and shake method that you at least get a scale. That way if you come across something you like you can make it in a huge batch.
