I've been vaping for a couple years, and have yet to try an RY4. I'd like to make one myself, but don't have any RY4 flavorings, and having searched around on here and ELR, it seems that most people just use different RY4 bases and tweak it to their tastes.
I know RY4 is tobacco, caramel, and vanilla. I only have Caramel Original from TFA, but haven't played around with it much at all, despite having heard that most people like it. Would it work in an RY4 mix?
For tobacco's I have (all TFA) M-type premium, western, red type, DK 555, and Turkish. I just ordered FLV Cured Tobacco today as well, but I obviously won't be able to use it in this batch.
For Vanilla's I have (all tfa) Vanilla bean Ice cream, vanilla swirl, French vanilla deluxe, vanilla cupcake, vanilla custard, and CAP vanilla custard V1.
I also have acetyl pyrazine, smooth, and EM if any of those would go good in this mix. I think smooth will probably have a place in it, esp if I wanna try and shake and vape.
Then, if anything in particular compliments an RY4, I have a bunch of creams etc, lots of fruits, and a couple cereals. I'm primarily a fruity-creamy vaper, but I've been craving non fruity stuff lately.
Bonus points to anyone who can give me some advice on working my tobacco flavors into a more filled out mix.
Caps are inconsistent/formatting sucks because mobile.
I have been lurking around for a while now for a while, and I'll share one of my RY4's
6% RY4 DBL (TFA)
1% Shade (or FA Virginia)
1% Hazelnut (FA)
1% Vienna Cream (FA)
1% Vanilla Bourbon (FA)
0.5% Caramel (FA) (I also use Dulce de Leche @ 1.5% here)
0.5% AP
Have used this base for a while now, and everyone seems to like it. Steeping is best @ 2 weeks or longer. You can play with this base quite easily. Some of the variations I have also included coconut, black walnut, pistachio, oba oba, and liquid amber. Plus throw in a fruit such as cherry, blackberry, or blueberry and you can make some really nice ry4 vapes.
I haven't personally tried those tobaccos, so I can't really comment on that.
For vanilla, you could just use some tfa bavarian cream (if you have it), which works well with tobaccos (as does vanilla swirl). I would get a better caramel, but the one you have will probably work. Also, decide how much caramel, vanilla, and tobacco you might want, just start out with a simple recipe and work from there. For me, I like an Ry4 to be tobacco>caramel>vanilla> nuttiness, in that tasting order, but you might be different, so just experiment.
Lately I've been adding a small percentage (1%) of cap's vanilla custard to my usual Ry4 recipe and it turned out well and gives a nice creaminess and vanilla, so that's an option, too.
One of my current ADV's uses RY4, here's the link to it: http://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/200383/Caramelbaccy
I think it's amazing!
Why not just get TPA RY4 Double?
This recipe gets thumbs up from me

I kinda have to agree with /u/thirdworldorder here...TPA RY4 Double, especially if you're not super into tobaccos yet, is an excellent vape. Can always make adjustments on it to bring it more to your liking but it's a great launching point.
What's your percentage of AP? 10%, use about 0.03% or if 05%, use about 0.06% and it'll add some richness to your tobaccos. I personally don't like TFA tobaccos, though I may just need to try harder. IMO FA & FLV are the way to go with tobacco.
Beware the TFA Caramel Original, it's made with corn syrup and isn't the safest to vape (tastes good, though). I'd suggest FA Caramel the next time you make a purchase.
For this one I'd play around with AP, Turkish, and some of the Vanilla Swirl, maybe. Or Vanilla Bean Ice Cream instead, but if so reduced AP.
I don't have my recipe handy, but one of my favorite RY variants is some FLV Flue Cured, some FA Desert Ship, some FA Caramel, and FA Madagascar Vanilla.
