Just wondering why I have to get separate nicotine concentrate, pure vg and pure pg instead of just getting a 100% vg 3mg/ml unflavored juice and a 100% pg 3mg/ml unflavored juice and mixing from there?
If you plan to buy a big bottle of the vg nictotine solution and dillute it into smaller bottles, get it in at least double your intended nictotine level.
Ok, and when I come across a recipe that calls for 100 mg/ml nicotine I will be able to convert it to my 36 mg/ml with a recipe calculator without any problems?
It doesn't matter if the recipe wants 100mg/ml or 48mg/ml or whatever. If you plan to mix the bottle in a 36/18/12mg or whatever strength, the base is going to be all the same. The higher end nicotine result will just mean you have more of the base in your mixed bottle. For example, if I want a 6mg/ml bottle and have both 48mg/ml and 100mg/ml bases, I could use either one to get my end result, but I would have to use more of the 48mg/ml option whereas I could use less of the 100. Make sense?

The only issue you may encounter is wholly dependent on the PG/VG ratio of your nicotine base, and what you wish your PG/VG ratio to be in the finished product.
I wanted to shoot for 20/80 in the liquid I'm making this week, but because my 100mg/ml concentrate is held up in the mail, I'm using a 24mg/ml 50/50 concentrate that skews the ratio of my juice.
It's not the end of the world, I'm at 26/74 instead of 20/80, which is close enough for me right now.

So whats the advantage of buying 100 mg/ml nicotine concentrate, 100% pure vg, and 100% pure pg and mixing them yourself?

I should have asked this question to begin with as well so I apologize in advance. But is there a preferred mix ratio you like?
70/30 or 80/20 or so? If you know you like one and will mostly stick with it, I think I have your answer.
edit: if you bought a bottle of Nicotine PG or VG base that is 100mg/ml it wouldnt be modifactions as much as plugging into a calculator and mixing.
I don't really have a ratio that I always vape mostly I would just like to follow a recipe correctly So for example i found a milkman clone recipe that call for vg based 100mg/ml nicotine . I don't really want to have a bottle of 100mg/ml lying around though. So if I get a 36 mg/ml bottle will it simply be a matter of copying the recipe into a calc and subbing the 36 for the 100 and letting the recipe sort itself out? Or with it be a pain in the ass
