A couple gripes with this video.
>>~~First, he says you're mad if you use over 72mg nicotine. 100mg is pretty much the standard for its ease of use and measurement.~~
>~~Something, something, my American ignorance.~~
First, he says you're mad if you use over 72mg nicotine. 100mg is pretty much the standard for its ease of use and measurement.
He mentions the dangers of his nicotine base, saying that you should wear gloves, then doesn't. I feel if he is trying to teach people, he should lead by example.
Possibly the one that irks me the most, he doesn't shake his nicotine base or* flavorings at all. This is bad if you use PG base nicotine. This is absolutely horrible and borderline dangerous if you use the VG base nicotine that he does. A terrible, terrible bit of information to leave out when trying to teach beginners.
He doesn't mention that you can mix by weight. I'm alright with this because I still mix some stuff by volume, but once again when teaching people, make sure to give them all the options.
The second biggest issue I have is the way he teaches you to mix. Making a concentrated flavor base instead of putting your flavors directly into your PG/VG/nic is extremely inefficient when making small quantities. You will waste a good deal of flavoring by it just being stuck in your concentrate bottle. If you need to make liters of juice, this is a great way to do it, because the losses are negligible. However, they way he explains to do it, he doesn't tell you the percentages in the concentrate, or the final mix.
But other than these, yeah it's a great introduction to the hobby. Not the best I've seen, but not the worst either.

In the US. Everywhere else it's 72 mg (and in the EU >72mg requires a special license).
I couldn't watch it. I couldn't. I tried. But I couldn't. I honestly thought that the video was from 2010...
ahhhh I see. But that wasn't one of my main issues, and probably the smallest one I noticed.
I was tripped out hard when he started talking and it didn't sound like death metal or an archangel gargling the blood of newborns. I thought for sure that's what his voice would sound like :/
> I was tripped out hard when he started talking and it didn't sound like death metal or an archangel gargling the blood of newborns. I thought for sure that's what his voice would sound like :/
haha I know what you mean :D Either that, or an insanely high-pitched voice :D
Fuck, I thought I was the only one who tripped out about the nicotine not being shaken. I start shaking my 100 mg nicotine like on the day I make my juice right from morning just to be safe and ocd. Also what bugged me, he said he doesn't use that syringe for anything other than nicotine but yet it is not labeled as such.
Now I think it would be a bit of a stretch here to say it's the best video for new mixers, but it is informative. He is well spoken and clear in his instructions. I don't think some of his methods are the most efficient, and he doesn't touch on mixing by weight, as has been mentioned. When I first started mixing, I watched quite a few videos on how to DIY, and I feel like this video in conjunction with others could be valuable to new mixers. My favorite thing with this video is that he is very clear in explaining the components of ejuice.
So, while I do not believe this to be the best DIY ejuice video out there, I do believe that it could be something new mixers would find to be helpful, especially if viewed alongside other videos.
the way he exhales through his gauges, I cringed and couldn't watch the rest
Not gonna lie, when I clicked on the video I had low expectations but he's very well spoken and explains it all in detail.
