TFA Pineapple
submitted about 10 years ago by SansBagels

Can anyone confirm that TFA pineapple is safe for use in plastic syringes?

I keep thinking I read somewhere that it'll melt them, but I can't find it. Just got 4 ounces of it in and I don't want to melt my shit.

Ya I had it melt the lettering off the syringe I had and also seemed to warp the plastic a bit so the plunger wouldn't slide easy after using it with the pineapple.

I've only used that flavor once but I can tell you that it didn't melt the 1ml dropper that I used. Those are even flimsier than syringes. If it did then I'd be scared to vape it.

Don't be scared, what hurts plastic doesnot necessarily hurt you. Citric acid can corrode iron, and yet is safe for ingestion etc.

Yes and no, as seen here it contains citrenllyl acetate, as a rule of thumb, if it says acetate it might dissolve plastic, depending of the kind of plastic and the concentration of said molecule. As it is below .5% you should be fine.

I havent had any issues with it, it makes the black plunger part swell up a little bit but that doesnt really effect anything. Now TFA ripe banana on the other hand has cracked several of my syringes.

It won't hurt most HDPE plastics. It does swell and melt soft rubber and some paper adhesives. Nothing to be afraid of- unless you overuse it. Then it tastes awful. Recommended at 3-4% or less in most recipes. Can also add a "gummybear" note at low %.

Yeah I use it pretty low, and 1-3% along with an equal to slightly greater amount of pomegranate.

Dunno about syringes but it does melt my throat.

Man I really dislike this flavor . I have 4oz minus 20ml I used from it for testing. Makes me cough . Even I tried Stargazer eJuice after the dude posted a 60% discount. Man when I opened the bottle it just hit me "Fucking TFA Pineapple " , taste cough cough cough . Gave the bottles to a friend of mine .

Yes it does crack plastic

Really? I bought one of the little vials about a year ago and loved it! I really hope they haven't changed the formula.

Am not saying the juice is bad. I just don't like TFA Pineapple and the juice is full of it. You know you reach a point in DIY and getting 200+ flavors that you know what goes in an eJuice and cloning juices becomes easier and easier !!

I think and I haven't tried this and never well honestly . Stargazer juice is probably like :

  • TFA Pineapple
  • TFA Strawberry Ripe
  • Koolada
  • Sweetner - not less than 2% judging by the coil gunk, burned cotton .

I don't know about TFA strawberry ripe, but every time I used TFA strawberry, it tasted like wood. Fuck that, I'll suck on a toothpick before I ever dip a syringe in that shit again.

Yes. I lost 2 syringes last night to the dreaded pineapple. Not only that, but when I tried to draw my second fill, the plunger disconnected from the rubber and I had my first spill ever. Bye bye to about 15ml of flavor. I think I am going to finally break down and mix by weight. Pineapple is really getting a workout in some summertime recipes.

I suggest 1% pineapple 3% pomegranate deluxe!

If it says it's a tank cracker, it has that potential. Banana Ripe will occasionally wreck my syringes (which is why I changed to drop method for that one and those like it) The strange thing is that it doesn't happen every time. Just happens sporadically.
