Clone recipes v1 (spreadsheet format)
submitted almost 10 years ago by benzinojamin

I like using spreadsheets to organize information. I was originally going to only do clone recipes i was interested in, but said ef-it, and did the whole list here (so thanks to /u/snowman5555 & /u/icecreamterror). Also, no reason to be stingy. So, here you go:

Clone Recipes v1

Use the menu button (to the left of the tabs on the bottom) to easily navigate the list.

I'm also working on a user submitted "original" recipe list. I'll share that when I'm done.

I gotta mention this, had anybody actually tried that black out city recipe? It's absolutly awful and not even close to the original. I get annoyed when I see it on these lists.

It's fucking gross.

If it's really that bad we can certainly remove it. Or, we can replace it with a better mix if someone has one or is willing to take on that challenge.

Honestly I hate to be that guy but it's one of the worst juices I've made.

That's the problem with quite a few of these recipes. I appreciate the time and effort that it took to put the list together but there are some really bad recipes in there. It's also the most up voted post in this sub's history. You can go back to the original post and there little or no discussion as to the quality of any of them. That's mostly due to the short lifespan of a reddit thread. Hopefully we can keep this one going with some reviews and revisions.

I wanted to try it so bad. but it's, imho, not worth having those ingredients in my collection.

I bot 4 Oz bottles of all the ingredients because I adore black out and it was a total waste.

Does anyone else think 12% TFA butterscotch is way too much in the Claim Your Throne recipe? I actually tried that one and it didn't taste like butterscotch at all.

Was about to tag you in this

I took a lot of recipes from the original thread where these came from. I definitely like the format they're in here better than the old one.

I actually found the brown sugar to be too overpowering and a coil destroyer. Then again I've never had the original so don't know how it's supposed to taste but I did end up binning that mix

Really dont think the brown sugar was the problem. I'm gonna mix it again at 2% butterscotch and drop the cream to around 3%. I'm thinking whoever posted the old thread made a serious typo or two on that one.

Just did a quick search and looked at this recipe from 5 different sites. They all used the same percentages. Bummer.

If you find your tweaks shift the flavor profile in a good direction, let me know and I'll add it to the list.

Awesome work. Just a suggestion, you might want to consider attributing the creators of each recipe, especially for the "original" recipes spreadsheet you're collating

Thank you.

The the initial "original" recipe list does give credit. Those were easier to track down.

This clones list might be a challenge. It's my understanding that the recipes come from several different sites, some (or maybe all) of which don't visit this subreddit.

However, I'm definitely not opposed to giving credit where it is due. I'm happy to amend this list as much as warranted to give credit. I'll certainly do so if I discover that information or I am made aware of it.

How would this work for campfire,

3% fa chocolate 6% cap marshmallow 3% cap graham cracker v2?

2 points

by McHairpiealmost 10 years ago

Can't hurt to try. Personally I'd lower the marshmallow to some extent. Maybe around 4.

I thought capella was around 1.5x strength of tfa? just trying to keep the ratios.

by McHairpiealmost 10 years ago

Yeah but I tried that recipe and I think the marshmallow muted the other flavors. Never made it again but if I was going to I'd drop the marshmallow. YMMV

The white rabbit recipe is also seriously out of whack. It's not even the same profile.
