TFA Top 10 Flavor Recipes for Beginners
submitted about 10 years ago by CPT_Tater

I recently received my DIY order. I ordered all of the flavors from the Top 10 TFA list in the "My First Order" sidebar link plus the ones that are missing in that listlist when compared to this list. Is there a place where I can find recipes for beginners using only the recommended "starter" flavors?

Probably the easiest thing to do is to create a stash on ELR and ask what recipes you can make.

How does one go about creating a "stash" ?

I've done that. I am just worried that some of the recipes that I have found will not be all that great. There are not very many to choose from that have any reviews on the mix.

Many of the recipes you make will not be all that great. There is no avoiding that. But that's why you are here. You learn as you go, you figure out what you like and you get better over time.

I'd find the list of recommended % fit tfa single flavors and mix up a batch of 5ml nic free bottles for all the flavors you bought. That will give you not only a baseline of what the flavors taste like on their own, but it gives you a nice starting point for coming up with your own flavor mixes.

Example: "Ooh, 1 part of 10% A and 1 part 10% B is tasty! I'll make a 30ml batch of 5% A + 5% B and take notes as I vape on that bottle (cuz maybe it'll be AWESOME at 6/4 or 3/7 etc)"

Wow this blew up! I like this idea! I don't have enough bottles tho! Ill start with the flavors that I think I will like the most.

These are the bottles I use. They are much higher quality than the picture makes them out to be. Thin narrow dripper, cap that stays on, best I've found for the price. Already went through about 200 5ml bottles from this guy.

I did this and I'd recommend against it. Ya I got to know what my flavors vape like, but a lot of that I could figure out from smell or taste with the drop in a shot glass method. All I ended up doing was wasting VG and bottles (I actually just emptied some out that I found in a drawer)

I can recommend one: "suckerpunch clone 50ml" from eliquid recipies.

7ml dragonfruit

2ml vanilla swirl

1ml bavarian cream.

So sorry if these are not in the list. I am on mobile so cant see the sidebar. Just wanted to share an easy recipie (60ml bottle). Just have everything for a 30ml.

How important is the Bavarian cream? Because I've only just started and have a limited amount of flavors to work with. Can I make up for it with the vanilla swirl or can I sub it for vanilla bean ice cream?

I want an excuse to use my dragon fruit and this seems like it's it.

To me, the bavarian is an absolute must, but I have never tried it without it. That said, vanilla bean ice cream and vanilla swirl are "basically the same" - add in vanilla bean ice cream. They are all so similar to me, that the majority of the time, they can all be subbed for each other in recipies. I dont think doubling up to make up for the lack of bavarian in this recipie is the right way to go. What you get with bavarian is a really nice sweet creaminess. Do you have any other custard or cream flavors in your stock? Perhaps vanilla custard might work, but i would leave out the swirl since you already have the vanilla covered.

On your next flavor order, i would absolutely get bavarian cream. It goes great with all the fruits i have tried so far. Also, at the eliquid-recipie site, you can search in a single flavor - dragonfruit, and get a list of recipies with that in there. You can also sort by votes to see the most popular. (To people using that site - please remember to vote and comment on recipies so we all benefit!)

Additionally - I learned recently that the tfa flavor "sweet cream" can actually go bad - as in turns sour like milk. I dont know how accurate this news is, but it made me stop using it. Since its only used in like .3 ml, its probably not a big deal, but to me, its not so important that I care that its in there. Just throwing out an FYI for anyone to investigate further if its interesting to them.

At the moment I don't have any other cream based flavors. I just started this a few days ago and bought essentially enough flavors for a handful of recipes I got from here, along with some small bottles to mess around with to bring my order to $65 for free shipping.

I'm will be getting more flavors on my next order and Bavarian cream will be on there. And I'm definitely bookmarking that site, thank you.

I mean it's your mix, you can do whatever you want if you think it tastes good. The Bavarian cream adds a nice little creamy milky flavor at a small percentage that is nice. No comment on Vannila as I don't typicaly use vanillas

I see this question here all the time- "How important is flavor X to this mix?" - If you are replacing a flavor, it's going to be different. Maybe better, maybe worse. The best thing you can do is try it and post the results, good or bad. Sometimes there won't be an answer posted anywhere for 2 flavors replacing one- but you can help the next person out who is in the same situation. As a more specific answer - Bavarian cream is pretty critical to any clone for Sucker Punch. I recommend it if you get the chance to pick it up, its used in plenty of recipes.

I'll keep that in mind. I've made 3 bottles so far from recipes I got from here and am still nervous to stray outside them as I'm too frugal at the moment to waste anything lol.

Bavarian cream is on my list for my next order (along with around 20 others), I see it all the time in recipes and now know it's essential to have.

This is exactly what I am looking for. Recommendations based on clones. Thanks!

Mustard milk, of course

Here's a quick one: Halo Tribeca Clone 12% TFA RY4 Double 2 drops Acetyl Pyrazine per 10 ml finished liquid Shake and vape. Flavor is better after a few days steeping, but its still good right out of the bottle.

> Acetyl Pyrazine

I don't have this.

This won't be half bad without the AP. If you have the RY4, mix 10 ml or so up, I think you'll be surprised.

I would recommend wa77ior's Unicorn Milk http://dot1ml.com/mixer/54vctnt

I mixed this up a few days ago and I'm loving it. Creamy peanut butter/graham cracker milkshake. I used Vanilla Custard but you could sub in Sweet Cream or Vanilla Swirl, so something like

Peanut Butter 8%
Bavarian Cream 2%
Graham Cracker (Clear) 3%
Sweet Cream 2%

I will have to try this one too!
