I have the last bottle of a discontinued juice. Need it recreated. Willing to pay.
submitted about 10 years ago by CantGoWrongWithABong

I know this seems desperate and all, but I have a juice that was created by a local mixer that I don't know personally, who has up and moved out of state. His juice was good enough to be sold at my local B&M in large quantities. When he moved, the juice went with him. I have the very last bottle. This juice is THE juice to end all juices. Imagine how you felt when your favorite Midnight Mountain Dew was discontinued for good. I need someone to break this down and recreate it. I will pay good money. No, I don't want to use the juice to sell for my own profit. If you discover the recipe, you can keep it a secret. As long as it's spot on or close to the real thing, I will continuously buy it from you. I know the flavor profile, and can send you some of the juice by mail. If this post is against the rules, please direct me somewhere or someone I can go to to solve this issue or how I can make a request within the rules. Thank you in advance.

Why don't you post the name of the brand and juice, along with the flavor profile?

Grand Vapors - Orphan Tears. Strawberry Kiwi Custard.

I just got off the phone with the B&M who sold it. It turns out GV was the original manufacturer that I was buying the juice from. GV sold the recipe to Fuzion: http://www.fuzionvapor.com/prime-orphan-tears/

The guys at the B&M say Fuzions take on the recipe tastes nothing like the original.

Here is an attempt to get the original recipe nailed down:

"10% straw, 5% kiwi, 5% cust, 1% cinn is what I make"

Have you tried this?

I just stumbled upon this page not 10 minutes after I posted this. Like I said in previous comments, I have not even attempted DIY as of yet. That's the closest clue I have found, along with the small hint of vendors they used.

Why dont you order a bottle from Fuzion Vapors for yourself and see if it's the same as the Grand Vapors version?

Grand Vapors said it's not the same as the way they used to make it.

Oh shit I know that feelz. Im pretty sure I have one of the last bottles of Jango in existence, but its at 18mg/mL though :/ I dont think I can help you bc I dont have the flavors you want. But I do understand your pain

I have like 1 ml of Jango still and it's a nice smooth and a friendly 3 mg. It's probably a year old now and dark as shit. Every clone I've tried and everything I've tried doesn't come close. I feel your pain.

Props to you. That was one of the best damn juices out there but 18mg isn't something i could use either. I got mine from Giant Vapes right after it was discontinued. It was out of stock everywhere but at Giant vapes I could have had as much as I wanted and I blew it.

I feel like if you're going to discontinue a juice, why not share your recipe with your cult followers? Is it possible to just ask these guys in confidence and attempt a DIY of your own? Maybe they won't even care if you disclosed the recipe here, worth a shot no?

That's just crazy talk now.

The saying goes "If you don't ask, the answer is always no."

But truthfully I'm not sure the recipe is discontinued, or was sold to Fuzion. So if it was sold, my chances are slimmer than if it was simply discontinued.

Gotcha. Just thought I'd bring that option up. Always worth a shot! :)

Fuzion discontinued their "Griffin" juice. Asked them if they'd even be willing to share hints for the recipe. Nope.

Selfish. I don't get it, but everyone has their reasons I suppose.

I made it with TFA Cinnamon Danish, it's good, but I don't think it's premium good. Maybe after a steep, but I'll make a batch using FA Cinnamon Roll and see how that works.

edit: it's really good, I can see myself vaping 30mL of it, but I don't think it's quite there yet.

Awesome. I was actually inspired by you and this thread to jump into DIY. I ordered all the necessary equipment and extracts to try to recreate it. Keep in touch with me via PM if you find a spot on recipe :) thank you again for everything. Let me know how the other cinnamon tastes in it too!

No problem, glad I could lead you in the right direction! I'll be sure to update you on the juice as it steeps and when I use the other cinnamon

I'd go to vapingunderground and try to make contact with HIC, who posts (and sells) a ton of recipes and seems to know what he's doing.

Awesome advice. This gives you an idea of what I'm looking for, and why it's so difficult. Who is HIC and how would I go about contacting him/her/them?

Legend says he sleeps on a water bed filled with FlavourArt rather than water.

When he gets angry, his heart ceases to "beat" as ours does but instead, it pulse width modulates.

I don't know him personally. He goes by HeadInClouds, aka HIC, there on vapingunderground forums. All I know is that I was terrible at DIY until I found his recipes.

You can view most of his recipes here:

https://www.google.com/search?q=hic%27s%20site%3Avapingunderground.com&rct=j

You might be able to find something you like just by searching his existing recipes for something with similar flavors to the juice you're looking to recreate.

Or sign up there and try to send him a private message. I have no idea if he'd be willing to help, but it's worth a shot.

If you have the ideas of the recipe, and there are recipes floating around, and if you don't want to get into DIY eJuice, the vapecrafter.com site lets you create a recipe that they will then make for you. I've used them in the past for when I have a recipe that I want to try, but don't want to buy the ingredients in bulk. Just be warned, the juice takes 1-2 weeks to get to you.

Look for the guy on Facebook or elsewhere on the interweb. If you turn over a few stones I'm sure you will find him.

I wish I could get my Hands on some Tasty Troll Omm Nom Nom juice, that stuff was like crack lol. I was sad when they stopped making it. Not sad to not being paying for it.

Unless the clone is spot on, which most aren't, you're only going to be disappointed. I have been. You're better off just finding another e-liquid that's of equal or better taste IMHO.

I stopping making clones unless I had never tasted the original.

There is a B&M by me in ohio that still had bottles of orphan tears when I was there a couple of months ago. It was the original grand vapors version and I know it has been there a long time. So I don't know if it has an expiration or what. I will call and see if they have it and if they do, I will be glad to put you in touch with them. Let me know. I'm new to reddit but I'm on VU. My name there is steamin demon

Why dont you try to recreate it yourself

Zero experience with ejuice DIY. It seems like a daunting feat to try to break down exact ingredients and measurements to clone a juice for my first time ever trying. Especially since every place you buy extracts from have their own unique taste. i.e. Strawberry extracts from MBV might taste different from another vendor. I guess it would be a good way to get into it though.

That's the beauty of it man, it's all trial and error until you hit the sweet spot of your mix.

True. This juice is worth shelling out the cash to get into DIY to just make this shit for the rest of my life and swim in it Scrooge McDuck style. With a little cash, determination and a bit of a lead in the link I posted in my other comment it's possible.

I agree, try DiY. You may love it like most of us do. You are certainly in the right place to learn how.
