Hey everyone, I've been thinking for a while that it would be great if this subreddit had some kind of chat where we could hang out and talk about DIY. This would be great for everyday conversation and collaboration and would also be a great place for newbies to come in and ask beginner questions without flooding the sub with posts. After seeing /u/Enyawreklaw post about wanting to do a DIY hangout, I was inspired to follow through with my idea! :D
How to connect
Since you're on Reddit, you've probably spent some amount of time on IRC in your life. There are lots of clients out there, mIRC for Windows is that OG classic, and Textual for Mac is great.
This chat is on Snoonet, the Reddit IRC network, which may be already in the list of server in whatever client you use, but if you can't find it, here is the Snootnet website. The channel is #diy_ejuice.
If you just want to pop in and check it out without downloading an IRC client, click here to join via webchat.
Please come hang out! Everyone! And spread the word! And mods, if you can throw this in the sidebar, it would be great!
Thanks :D and please let us know if you have any trouble connecting! Would love to get everyone on there.
Maybe /u/botboy141 will put this on the sidebar.
/u/InertiaCreeping does all that stuff, I think
Nonono... I just do all the things that people complain about... we have a kinda scape-goat kinda arrangement going on :)
But seriously, what did you want me to put in the sidebar? I've never IRC'd
First off, you should IRC with us :D
Second, you want this link on the sidebar so people can easily join in. I'd say something like:
Chat with your fellow juice makers on IRC! Join us in #diy_ejuice on Snoonet, click here to connect through your browser!
What an awesome idea. I will surely be visiting #diy_ejuice in the near future. I have been slowly entering the DIY juice game.
At present, I only have a few mixtures I've been pleased with, I've also made some really awful ones that instantly found the trash can. I recently received a TFA order of about 30+ flavors, not a lot but enough to get me started I hope. I'm still missing a few staple flavors and will be ordering more once I figure out which those are exactly.
I look forward to meeting some of you and talking shop, I have a lot to learn.
