Malted Milk TFA
submitted about 10 years ago by tonydiamondmia

So I just got an order in from Wizard labs and the Malted milk concentrate I have has things floating in it. Is this normal? Total noob to diy.

No worries, that's normal. It didn't happen to me but I remember reading about that on their site.

From TFA's website:

>>"It does not need refrigeration, but if you do refrigerate it, some crystallization might occur. Just warm and shake to use."

Do they kinda look like crystals?

You are fine. I fridge all my stuff and malted milk crystallizes like crazy along with a few other flavors

Did you try warming it up to see if they are soluble back in solution?

No need to go super hot just a warm bath and shake. I would guess it dissolves again.

Yeah i sit on the bottle for 10 minutes to warm it up. That's how I used to warm up my uncrustables as a kid. Works like a charm.

Let me know how that works out for you. Im trying to get a cake batter recipe that has a bit of a malty taste to it and was wondering if that would do the trick.
