My DIY setup
submitted about 10 years ago by cromag5150

Its been 9 months since I stopped smoking and made the switch. I thought this would be saving me money but I was going through a 30 mil bottle every 2-3 days as was my wife. DIY was a financial necessity for us and this sub made it possible. So I'd like to give a quick shout out and thanks to everyone here.

Here is a shot of my "lab" and the fruits of a 3 hour mixing session. I figure I saved at least $350 over store bought on this batch alone.

love how many batches you made! i wish i was determined enough or had the time. I have a similar setup minus all the equipment, what do you like best for steeping?

being in a small unaffordable apartment in metropolitan area I was looking into ultrasonic or the DIY magnetic stirrer. currently using a coffee mug warmer (does the trick, sorta)

I never really kept track. But I've been doing it for about 5 months now and my wife and I both go through a bottle about every 3-5 days now so maybe 75-90 30 ml bottles? As far as steeping. They get shaken after mixing then into the ultrasonic for 5 min. Then its into the mini crock pot with the tops off for about an hour. I give em another good shake and they sit on the shelf for a few weeks.

DAMN! How much did you invest in that lab? I'm thinking about starting to get in to it because I barely just got in to vaping, and, being a broke ass, I really don't have the money to be dropping 70 dollars every week and a half on juice.

Not as much as you probably think I did. I already had the ultrasonic and the crock pot. Everything else probably ran me $200 maybe. And thats everything I've spent on DIY ever. If you're dropping $300 a month on juice you'll recoup that pretty fast. Just start off small and buy the essentials and build from there. Think about it as a savings investment. Once you acquire the essentials you'll be making bottles of juice for around 2 bucks. If I can do it anyone can.
