My Canadian Nicotine Vendor Review II
submitted over 10 years ago by BooksofMagicMixologist

Welcome to my Canadian Nicotine Vendors review Part II.

You can find my first nicotine vendor review here

I based my review criteria on the testing that I found here: http://www.wackedoutecig.ca/11118-canadian-nicotine-review.html. You can see a review for Northern Nic. I had bought some of it too and I concur with their review entirely.

All nicotine vaped with identical single flavor TPA Banana Cream recipes @ 6mg/ml Nicotine on a Kanger ProTank3 with a fresh dual coil on an iStick 20w, which is what I vape normally. Each bottle of nicotine was also well shaken for 2 minutes prior to testing, left to set, then agitated again briefly prior to extraction.

HydaVape

  • Supplier website: http://hydavape.com/

  • Purchased: May 1st

  • Cost & Amount Purchased: 500ml of 100mg/ml PG base $80 + Taxes and Shipping

  • Sizes/Strengths Available: 100 or 48 mg/ml in 250ml, 500ml, or 1000ml(1Litre)

  • Payment Methods: Email Money transfer

  • Advertised Nicotine Strength: 100mg/ml

  • NiKiTest results (used 2ml/test): 99.29, 99.29

  • Estimated Strength: 100mg/ml

  • Color: Clear.

  • Smell: Slight Nicotine smell. Completely consistent with other 100mg/ml nicotine

  • Taste: None noticeable

  • Throat Hit: No added throat hit. This stuff is smooth

  • Pepper: None detected

  • Prolonged Performance: Vaped a 2.8ml tank exclusively over the course of half a day. Fluid stayed smooth and tasty with no ‘throat rot’

  • Notes: This was by far the cheapest Nicotine I found so far. Some may be put off by the fact their site doesn’t have the usual nice e-commerce front end and the fact that ordering is done via email, but once you get past that, it’s good nicotine at a great price. I will most definitely be ordering from them again in the future.

A note on the packaging – I was really impressed with the 4 dabs of hot glue they put on both the 250ml bottles. However, this would only prevent the bottle top from coming loose on it’s own. If these bottles expand or contract too much with temperature, they could still leak even though the lids don’t spin at all. The hot glue also didn’t seem to stick very well to the HDPE plastic.

Diy-ejuice.com does this the best – they vacuum pack everything to prevent leaks. I hear rumors they sell nicotine if you ask, but I have not tested this yet.

SimpleVape

  • Supplier website: http:// http://www.simplevape.ca

  • Purchased: May 1st, but did not receive until June 1st

  • Cost & Amount Purchased: $24 for 60ml of 100mg/ml PG base

  • Sizes/Strengths Available: 100, 60, 48 and 36mg/ml VG or PG

  • Payment Methods: Credit Card, Email Transfer, Interact and Visa Debit (Payza)

  • Advertised Nicotine Strength: 100mg/ml

  • NiKiTest results (used 2ml/test): 99.29, 99.29

  • Estimated Strength: 100mg/ml

  • Color: Clear.

  • Smell: Slight Nicotine smell. Completely consistent with other 100mg/ml nicotine

  • Taste: None noticeable in juice.

  • Throat Hit: No added throat hit. Smooth

  • Pepper: None detected

  • Prolonged Performance: Vaped a 2.8ml tank exclusively over the course of about half a day. Performance was consistent with 0 harshness

  • Notes: This order is the reason it took me so long to get this review done. They ran out of nicotine very quickly and I had to wait while they got more across the border. To compensate me, they doubled my order which was very nice. They eventually offered me a refund after some additional time but I was content to wait on my double order.

One thing I hope they fix going forward is their packaging. I received 4 30ml clear PET dripper bottles of 100mg/ml nicotine and was too busy to do anything with them right away. So I re-packed the bottles into a ziplock bag and put them in the freezer until I could perform the testing. When I took them out last week, the bottles had been leaking quite badly. Tops appeared tight but my experience with PET bottles is they don’t handle temperature changes very well. Attempt to heat steep a bottle of juice and the bottle puffs up like a balloon. Freezing then shrinks them to the point they no longer seal properly.

I was able to clean it up, and the nic is good, but this is a preventable issue.

VaperBC

  • Supplier website: http://vaperbc.com

  • Purchased: May 1st

  • Cost & Amount Purchased: 240ml for $77.40 ($86 -10% discount code)

  • Sizes/Strengths Available: 100mg/ml, 30, 60, 120 and 240ml

  • Payment Methods: Interac Email money transfer

  • Advertised Nicotine Strength: 100mg/ml

  • NiKiTest results (used 2ml/test): 99.29, 99.29

  • Estimated Strength: 100mg/ml

  • Color: Clear.

  • Smell: Slight Nicotine smell. Completely consistent with other 100mg/ml nicotine

  • Taste: None noticeable in juice.

  • Throat Hit: No added throat hit. Smooth

  • Pepper: None detected

  • Prolonged Performance: Vaped a 2.8ml tank exclusively over the course of about half a day. Performance was consistent with previous order from them.

  • Notes: Not too much to add here. It does seem that their new batch of nicotine is the proper listed strength, and leads me to believe they order from Nude Nicotine and previously had some of that batch of nicotine from Nude that was higher than the listed strength.

Also see my previous review for a promo code to receive 10% off. I forgot to use it before, but remembered this time :)

Final Notes

None. Enjoy my reviews!

Awesome reviews! I feel so bad now as I ordered nic from RTS because I had trouble finding Canadian vendors that were reliable.

Ah well, have some upvotes for your concise information and I will follow you for subsequent reviews.

I'm not from Canada but that is a great in depth review, I would love to see this for the major EU suppliers as well!

See a need, fill a need?

I did these reviews because nobody else had and I figured if I needed this info, maybe others would too.

Maybe I should have given Hydavape another chance, but my bottle from them had an awful taste and smell. Like it was nasty stuff.

Totally happy with my order from SimpleVape, though.

> bottle from them had an awful taste and smell

Thanks for sharing your experience! I was hoping these reviews would spark some discussion and story-telling.

Did you buy VG of PG nic? I've had a few issues with bad VG nic but zero issues with any PG stuff I have ordered so far.

Yeah it was a small bottle of VG nic I got from them about 6 weeks ago.

First bottle of nic I bought was from them. 48mg/ml, VG based. Loved them. Buying 100mg/mp, PG based next time from them.

Glad to see more nic reviews! I've tried the diy-ejuice nic rumor, i got absolute zilch as a response and I think she knows me when I order by now (spent a grand at her site by now) so i think we can put that rumor to rest.

I've been using hyda vape for a few weeks now, and despite its initial smell its good nicotine. I'd just like to see the site and there customer service worked on a bit. I strongly believe if your selling 100mg nic you should be shipping with age verification as well as disclaimers and warnings on purchase.

> despite its initial smell its good nicotine

I still have my left over samples sitting here beside me and I just smelled the HydaVape stuff compared to the other two and they all smell exactly the same. Did you use VG or PG nic?

VG base nic. Compared to east coast nic it smells like cleaning solution. But i think thats the difference between freebase and bleached nic I'm getting.

I think the VG nic explains it. I find the VG goes bad so much faster than PG

"Cost & Amount Purchased: 240mg/ml $86 (-10%)"

Do you need to wear a space suit to mix with this?

I'd definitely use Nitrile gloves, long sleeves and a face-shield.

Nice info thanks! So they came in clear glass bottles? Did I read that correctly? That would bother me since UV effects Nicotine. Seems like an easy thing to fix though.

No not glass. That would have been more than fine. The amber is to keep UV light out. When you store them behind things in a dark freezer, colored glass becomes less important.

These are the the clear PET plastic bottles I have seen some juice come in.

Oh yeah I don't have an issue with clear glass for juice. and yeah amber makes sense. Just seems clear glass is an odd choice for nicotine. I am glad it was good!

As a Canadian I'm used to the fact that we pay more for products compared to prices in America but the markup on nicotine base is just ridiculous. That being said hydavapes price seems decent. Might be worth not having to worry about whether or not my base is going to get to me.
