I should have read/found the flavor reviews before making such a large TFA order
submitted over 10 years ago by VtotheZ

Okay so I ordered about 32 flavors from TFA and a few from CAP. Well knowing proper etiquette in this diy reddit page I read most of the FAQ, sidebar, beginners guides etc. I got ahead of myself and with excitment and ordered several flavors that sounded good to me and that I wanted to make juices with and experiment on. So now that I have read several TFA flavor reviews id say about 5-7 of the ones I purchased have bad reviews or not the best critique.

So my question is, are these flavor reviews subjective? For instance the Lemon TFA might taste watered down and bland to you but to someone else it might taste perfect.

Next question, is there something I might be able to do to enhance these flavors that have not got positive reviews or profiles?

Thanks for any advice...

What are the flavors that have 'bad reviews'?

An easy way to test flavors without having to mix them is to put one drop in some whipped cream and taste.

Me, I am lazy. I just put a small drop on my finger and put it on my tongue. (Note, with some very concentrated flavors, you will want the smallest possible drop you can get).

I used to do that until NN boysenberry... Screwed up my sense of taste for days...

You can also fill a shotglass with water and add one drop of flavoring, just in case that you don't have whipped cream on hand.

Honestly every flavor from every manufacturer has bad reviews. Taste is subjective, try them out and you'll find what you do and don't like. Tfa black tea had bad reviews when I looked it up. I made a simple mix of it, cap juicy lemon, and topped it off with a few drops of vanilla cream. its pretty good imo but there are reviews that say it's a garbage flavor.

EVERY Flavor review is subjective because everyone's set of tastebuds are different.

What was this list of flavors BTW? TPA Blue Raspberry (So reviled that even they put a warning on the page about it) on that list? If so, be sure to add sweetener to it or it tastes horrible. Start at 1% and adjust as needed. You may still not like it, but at least that will give it a fair shot.

Try them and see what they taste like. You will find mixtures that they might be missing that flavor. It is taste so it is subjective.

Flavour is massively subjective. But even if a flavour isn't all that great on its own, when mixed with something else it could work well. For me an example is TFA Orange Cream - I really tried to mix a proper Orange Pop type mix and hated the orange. Mixed in smaller percentages with other fruits, and I get nice orange bits amongst other fruits, so it totally works.

Taste is always subjective. Everyone has a different palate. I'd recommend you try those flavors alone in a mix with no nicotine to see what you think about them.

Well everyone else's opinions might not match yours. Don't worry about the reviews at this point, just try them and make a decision based on how YOU like them. I see people here say bad things about flavors that I like, and vice versa.

Thanks for all the solid feedback guys. Yea TFA black tea, TFA lemon, a few others by TFA that I read on here that were a waste of time. Glad to hear that its very subjective and I cant wait to experiment on all the flavors. I think i will do the shot glass test and see how that works.

Ill tell you onw thing. Make a 10 ml batch for every flavor. In 1% then in 5%. Try after shake. Try in two days. Try in a week, two weeks and then in a month. I found some flavors are just good additives instead of being a real flavor. Thwy have some note that your mix might be missing ans adding even a 0.1%-.5% will make it bomb. Just like banana cream. I add like .1% to strawberry and gives a very nice lifted creamy taste to the strawberry.
