So I had an idea on my 4 hour drive home today, basically a super sweet citrus goodness that kinda floats along a little marshmallow cloud.

I knew I wanted to incorporate orange, lemon and lime, although I've never actually tried to combine all 3 in a recipe together so the percentages below are just starting points (likely on the high side with the idea I'll lower the overpowering notes, one at a time). I also want this thing to be sickly sweet yet refreshing at the same time. I've added FA Torrone just cause it's pure goodness in this flavor profile, the orange/mandarin ratio is pretty standard for me, where I decided to get a little interesting with stuff was when I decided to add a drop of TFA Cucumber (refreshing) and a drop of TFA Strawberry per 30ml (refreshing, sweet and pairs well with cucumber and citrus).

Below is my first go at this, basically mimicking a shurb like flavor, with a slightly different "cream base" dropping the raspberry, using lemon/lime/orange and loading up the EM (not as high as shurb but it's a starting point).

1% FA Mandarin
3% INW Lemon Concentrate
3% FA Lime Tahiti
0.5% FA Torrone
0.5% FA Marshmallow
0.1% TFA Cucumber
0.1% TFA Strawberry
3% Ethyl Maltol (10%) or TFA Cotton Candy

Tasting notes to follow this evening as I'll be shaking for an hour until I head to my folks for father's day dinner, then vaping it all night to get an idea of where it's at.

Edit: Mixed MAX VG as 30/70 has been drying me out a bit too much the last 2 weeks.

So here's my dilemma with lemon....I need a better lemon flavor. I have CAP Juicy Lemon, and CAP Lemon Sicily. The juicy lemon gives off a very sickeningly sweet taste at 3-4% and ruins recipes. The Lemon Sicily is good, but doesn't pack enough lemon flavor for where my thought process wants to take it. Really what I would want would be almost a lemon head flavor...sweet lemon, but not over the top sickeningly sweet. Any thoughts mates?

Posting this one for posterity. This is a finished recipe that to me is dead on where I want it to be and those that have had the chance to try it, have agreed thus far.

Lemon Sorbet
4% FA Lemon Sicily
1.5% FA Custard
1% FA Citrus Mix
0.1% Menthol (10%) (1 drop per 30ml)
3% INW Lemon Concentrate
1% INW Lemon Mix
1.5% Ethyl Maltol (10%) or TFA Cotton Candy

This is just an absolutely delicious Lemon Sorbet, add a splash of Koolada (0.5-1%) for more of an icy taste/feel to it, I avoid it in my recipe though as it dulls the flavor more after 3-4 days.

I played with a virtually endless array of percentages of non-lemon pledge tasting lemon concentrates before I finally arrived at this mixture of FA and INW's 2 as my preferred ratios for this recipe, the Citrus Mix just adds slight hints of grapefruit/orange/lime to the background, barely noticeable but works well for me.. EM/Cotton Candy is optional to taste (I'm still toying with the percentage a bit) but I really enjoy it in here and it really helps to round it all out, feel free to try without if you want, but if you throw it in after, let it sit at least 24 hours before going back to it.

This flavor is ideal between day 2 and day 14 IME, but does leave some vapers tongue issues for me after about 120ml in a week. I have tried a 45 day steep version of this and it's still excellent but the lemon has faded to be a bit more background and the EM is a little more forward so adjust as you see fit.

Please Note: The menthol is an integral part of this recipe and it will not be remotely the same without it. That said, you do NOT taste menthol in this recipe after a 24 hour steep.

A quest for lemonade

In the past, I'd had some success with using FA lemon sicily as a lemonade base. It smells exactly like generic lemon lollipops, and at 4-5%, you have a strong lemon base that's perfectly ready for some fruit to be dropped in there. Unfortunately, by the time I get this lemon strong enough to my liking, it comes off as very harsh. To the point where my 1mg mixes would taste like 6mg - very offputting.

I began looking for an adequate substitute for a lemonade base, and opted for FW lemonade. it's a very sharp lemon flavour, almost ethereal in that all it really offers is a tart sourness, much like a real lemon. The sweet, candied lemon aspect from Lemon Sicily is all but gone. I've had moderate success with lemonades based on ~8-10% FW lemonade + X amount of other fruits, but it's still not quite there.

This week I'll be trying to find a ratio of the two that I like as a base, using a tiny bit of the FA Lemon Sicily to round out the somewhat hollow tasting FW Lemonade flavour. I'll also find an optimal fruit to pair it with, and hopefully have a tasty summertime juice by the end of it. Thanks for reading.

           1% White Peach (FA)

Scent: has a great smell, I was quite impressed with how full the lemon smelled immediately after adding just those. On first scent after mixing and shaking, the peaches also seem to blend decently. Having never actually used juicy peach before, this juice was a bit of a gamble: I'm fully familiar with the harsh bite of FA's white peach, and IMO it takes a particularly smooth, sweet fruit flavour to compliment it.

Tasting notes:

Blech. 3% lemon sicily is still plenty enough to instill a harshness to your juice, and it's the first thing I notice upon inhale. Have I been massively overusing this flavour I wonder? In cereal mixes I often add lemon sicily with TFA fruit circles at a 1:4 ratio respectively, and have never noticed a harshness before. Anyways, beyond the harshness of the inhale I do get a rather pleasant, sour lemon taste. The high notes of FW lemonade do seem to compliment L.S. well, but in the future I'll be trying less L.S. and more FW lemonade to compensate.

The peach aspect is a dismal failure unfortunately. Juicy Peach, while seemingly tasty, does not help to obscure the almost alcoholic, cidery tang of White Peach. I was an absolute fool to try and include this, because getting it to cooperate in a mix has been difficult for me in the past. The exhale, while pleasant at first, dissolves into a somewhat bitter tang from the White peach, not tangy in the way that lemonade is but rather tangy moreso like vinegar or mustard. It does not play nicely with this mix, and I'll be trying this again tomorrow with a clean slate.

**Thoughts for tomorrow:**Lower the Lemon Sicily, perhaps all the way down to 1%. Up the Lemonade to five or six percent. There is a good chance I'll be trying this on its own with no added fruit, although I am toying with the idea of INW raspberry, since I find it to be a pretty compatible, delicious flavour. By the end of the week, I hope to be experiment with small amounts of citric and malic acid, as well as a touch of menthol perhaps. I'm just refraining from using additives until things are right.

Day 2: Mixed a batch at

1% lemon sicily (FA) 6% lemonade (FW)

I opted for 1 drop per 15ml TFA smooth. Having never used it before, im not positive if i'm doing it right.

Notes: although the flavour is plentiful (might add a little more lemonade) this isn't as good as FW lemonade on it's own. I suck. It seems that the next edit coming will, indeed, be some kind of fw lemonade concoction, with no other lemon as those are my two current options.

Has anyone messed around with medicine flowers lemon? I've been diluting it 10% and using 1-2% at 40/60 pg/vg and its legit, but I wonder if anyone has had success with what's good to mix it with

I haven't been satisfied with CAP Juicy Lemon, FW Lemonade, or FA Lemon Sicily in various combinations and strengths my failed attempts to make super-lemony lemonade vapes. After reading all of the comments here, I'm thinking it might be INW to the rescue. Can anyone who has tried all three explain the difference between INW Shisha Lemon, Lemon Concentrate, and Lemon Mix?

I see so many mistakes I've made with my first few batches that you guys avoid, like flavors that mute each other, or percents that should be really low. It may seem obvious but to someone new these explanations are a god send.

I cant contribute much as I am only 2 weeks in and I am still getting feedback on my first few batches. But I do have a recipe with lemon I can contribute.

I wish I had more time for a lemon focused vape but ill try one this week and get back. In this recipe I use lemon to enhance my watermelon blend.

7% strawberry ripe

4% LA watermerlon (colorless)

1% watermelon candy

1% lemon INW

2% ethyl (10% conc) *this is very sweet because LA watermelon is too floral for me. May want to bring down.

85vg 15pg just from flavorings. No issue with flavor here.

I like the citrus cut lemon gives the watermelon over the crispness cucumber gives - especially in a summer fruit blend. This also doubles for the tart flavor watermelon candy has and rounds out the flavor.

I have some troubles with CAP lemon sicily, the lemon isn't really there for me. I got it bumped up to 20% as a single flavor and it is still weak.

I have tried putting a bit of sour to help it but so far I didn't manage to get any good results. I am looking to make a juice similar to big glass of water with ice and lemon juice.

Any suggestions?

I've been using Cap Lemon Meringue Pie V1 for a while, but I haven't ventured out to try V2. If anyone has tried both can you shed some light on the differences taste wise. This is my favorite lemon to use overall but I've just stuck with the V1, but the V2 is supposedly Da/AP free.
