"What's your favorite recipe lately?"
submitted over 10 years ago by vaparagno

This was suggested by /u/Laughmore in another thread and I thought it was a good question for the group.

Yeah I suggested this question as more productive than "what should I buy" as it provides anyone reading with a sort of menu, which is what one really wants. And the other question is basically sidebar territory, so anyways...

These couple weeks I've been vaping mostly Cereal Milk for the Children, Rhodonite, and this interesting Milk and Honey clone ~~I found on a French website.~~ by /u/Nicobeak

Banana Cream (TFA) 2.00%
Catalan Cream (FA) 1.50%
Vanilla Bean Gelato (TFA) 2.00%
Vanilla Classic (FA) 1.00%
Acetyl Pyrazine 5% (TFA) 0.50%
Dairy/Milk (TFA) 3.00%
Almond (FA) 0.10%

Armed with a recipe plan, you can avoid the "now what can I make" debacle once your vapemail arrives. You could also plan to make either version of Mustard Milk, and then sub out the strawberry with another fruit you're investigating.

Hey! That M&H clone is one of my attempts from a thread on ECF. Ha! It wasn't really close at all, but what do you think about it?

by _Laughmore_over 10 years ago

Thanks first of all. I've never had original M&H, and I subbed with DX Banana Cream. I like it better before it steeps a week, which could be the DX version fading. I like the nuance of banana in a "grainy" cream (notes from AP and Catalan are my favorite), like in Cereal Milk FTC. The buttery notes from tpa Milk are great, I'm going to work on subbing w/fresh cream fa for ADV/health.

I took a chance on this recipe and made a big 1st batch, so I haven't twisted it up yet. Next version ideas: maybe double the Almond, increase AP by .25%, maybe sub Vanilla for Van.Bourbon or 50/50 both, drop Banana creme .5% and introduce FA banana, introduce pear or quince low %, introduce fa caramel 2 parts with 1 part increased AP (this 2:1 is like a Werther's magic wand), coconut fa .1%

This recipe caught my eye because of the honey premise with no distinct honey ingredient - curious what was up... and I had no decent recipe using dairy/milk tpa :)

Cool, I may reignite that one and mess around with some of your ideas. I haven't used the dairy much either.

Thanks for the mention, I don't really care, but it is nice to see my name pop up on something. There is a thread over on ECF that is just a bunch of people trying to clone M&H, and all the recipes for it on that french site were pulled from it. Let me know if anything blows you away, and I'll do the same.

I agree. Great thought. Thought it warranted it's own thread

Really the good ones are posted already, use search bar for a favorite flavor, then sort results by hot or comments to gauge popularity, cross reference those recipes' flavors with your shopping list to find common ingredients ... works

by vaparagnoover 10 years ago

Thanks. I know. I've been here for a long time. I was doing this to help generate more conversation for the newer people. To help show them the process of a group working together. Rather than just saying "What can I make with these flavors" or "What should I order" or "What is the clone for xxx"

Mine is what I'm left with after many many failed attempts at a Lunar Harvest Clone. I'm enjoying it, but it's not close...

  • TFA Circus Cotton Candy 8%
  • TFA Blueberry Candy 5%
  • FW Razzleberry 4%
  • TFA Sweet & Tart 2%
  • Koolada 1% TFA Sweet & Tart Koolada

You know, I've been trying to clone this for a while. After trying the real thing for the first time in a long time, I feel like a little bit of absinthe could do the recipe justice. Also, I use blue raspberry cotton candy by Cappella in mine

1 points

by vaparagnoover 10 years ago

Hmm ... thanks. Ive never tried absinthe and I'm not sure what the flavor profile is. I'll have to try it out. Thanks. I've tried CAP Blue Raspberry CC and it just didn't give me the feel I was looking for. I tried several "berry" notes and found that the FW Razzleberry really hit it there. I know the TFA CCC isn't the right thing - especially given the color difference, but I've settled on this and quite like it. I'm off to other mixes now, but this is currently my favorite while I work on the others.

Here's an odd thing I've been playing with.

  • LA Banana Cream 2%
  • TFA Caramel Candy 3%
  • TFA Cheesecake (Graham Crust) 3%
  • TFA Marshmallow 2%
  • TFA Peanut Butter 1%
  • TFA RY4 Double 5%
  • CAP Vanilla Custard v1 2%

Started off attempting an ry4 custard but it's turned into something else. I'd love to hear some suggestions/tweaks

At work now. IIRC I have all of these. I shall try it when I make it home.

Let me know what you think. Also a 24hr steep does it some good

by dovakeeningover 10 years ago

Finally got around to mixing it. I omitted the custard, however(not a big custard fan). Its steeping in hot water now. I'll let you know tomorrow what I think.

This stuff is good stuff. Try it without the custard. Its got a really sweet but earthy tone to it. 10/10 will be making a 30ml out of this.

`thats a ton of cheesecake graham crust

by _EatTheRichover 10 years ago

Is it? I've used it in recipes calling for as much as 6% and I've never felt like it was a very overpowering flavor. Even in this recipe it comes through as a very light background note.

Maybe ive become sensitive to it, but anything over 1% has a funky foot smell to me now

Wow. Sounds good. Thanks. This was helpful. I didn't know LOR made a Pineapple. I've been working on another pineapple based recipe and have tried both TFA and CAP and a mixture of the two and none have worked. I'll have to order some LOR and see how that works.

What solvent are you using the citric acid in, as well for tart just? just pg? I was thinking about making this.

1 points

by fatclownbabyover 10 years agoMixologist

I have one bottle vg and one bottle pg.

You can can dissolve 2x as much in pg, but I prefer vg.

So I would use fewer drops when using pg

Still rocking my own version of PB Dream.

  • TFA Peanut Butter - 6.5%
  • TFA Banana Cream - 7.5%

Wishing I had a different banana cream to try, but honestly, it's pretty dang good as it stands.

My current favorite is: http://www.reddit.com/r/DIY_eJuice/comments/35p1he/a_lomage_to_hooper/ by /u/shrine399

Been vaping it for 3 days now, and it is still pretty amazing.

Sounds interesting. Don't have a taste for whiskery though. Too much of it as a teenager and still hate it in my 40s

I'm currently vaping on a 15 ml bottle of straight Nic base 6% that I added a few drops of TFA Dragonfruit to. Sorry, for the low tech recipe... I was just vaping away when I saw the Dragonfruit in my stockpile and realized I hadn't tried it yet. It's pretty tasty.

So here is my favorite ADV. • TFA French Vanilla 1.25 ml • CAP Caramel 1ml • TFA Milk Chocolate .25 ml •TFA Hazelnut .5ml

It's a creamy hazelnut concoction that's really enjoyable and gets better over time. Sorry if the format doesn't work as I'm posting this via mobile.

Cool. I actually have a bottle of that sitting here that I never opened. I'll have to try out the real one and then venture to the clone if I like it. Thanks Pascal.
