When I first started DIY (only about 1-2 months ago), I immediately started to make a clone of Honey Pearry. No matter what percentages I use or what recipe I follow, the juice always seemed very dry and dull. The flavor profile was there, it just seemed like there was no moisture or "fullness" in my mouth (Idk if that's the right term but I hope you understand).
So I put that on the back burner and started to experiment with other strawberry / cream bases. I decided to add a cream base to the honey pearry recipe and it surprised me how much it improved the flavor. Here is version 1 of the recipe. I'll be working on more iterations but I would love to hear any suggestions you guys might have. Maybe another cream base? More or less percentages? Different flavors/vendors?
- TFA Pear 5%
- TFA Honeydew 3%
- TFA Strawberry 5%
- TFA Bavarian Cream 3%
- TFA Sweet Cream 2%
- TFA Vanilla Custard 2%
You have just inspired me to try something like this. I'm with you on the lack of "fullness." I think this will be my first attempt at Honey Pearry Cream:
- TFA Pear 5%
- TFA Honeydew 2%
- TFA Strawberry 3%
- TFA Honeysuckle 1%
- TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream 5%
Great idea...I was thinking of using Vanilla Bean Ice Cream for my next attempt since it acts as a great cream base on its own. Please let us know how it comes out.
EDIT: I haven't tried Honeysuckle yet. How do you like it?
In Honey Pearry versions, at 1 to 2%, awesome. But otherwise, I've been having some trouble finding a use for it.
I bought it hoping it would taste like... Well, honestly I was hoping it would taste like my ex-girlfriend. Like the subtle sweetness of honeysuckle nectar. Remember being a kid on summer vacation and traveling to visit country-living relatives, picking a honeysuckle blossom from the vine on their property, delicately plucking the pistil, and slurping the single drop of sweet nectar from end of it while your eyes roll back in pleasure? My ex-girlfriend tastes like exactly that drop of nectar.
Unfortunately, TFA Honeysuckle does not. It tastes like, instead of delicately plucking and slurping, you just shoved the whole damn flower in your mouth and chewed it up. Disappointing, to me, for personal reasons, but not necessary bad. If you like floral flavors you will very likely LOVE it. Unfortunately, one of my biggest peeves is when over-flavoring or certain combinations of flavors causes juice to get flowery. TFA Honeysuckle will bring that out terribly. But, too much honeydew or honeydew in combination with other things that I guess have the same molecules makes a soapy taste, not a flowery one. To me, a little Honeysuckle seems to counteract the soapiness. Holy crap I just realized that that if I put just honeydew and honeysuckle together, something like 2% of each and nothing else or maybe 1% cotton candy, I might get to taste her again.
Edit: God, I'm so alone.
Oh I like this. I have these flavors, I'm going to give this a shot. The only thing I'd change for my personal tastes is to drop the Sweet Cream. It's too much of a butter taste for me I feel. Everything else seems pretty good.
I'm not a huge fan of custard but love creams. I adapted Enyawreklaw's 'Strawberry Ice Cream Cone' recipe and made a Honey Pear Cream out of it. Very tasty. Vape it everyday. Although there are a lot of flavors in it, haha.

gasp I've never seem that many flavors in a recipe before.
I do a similar mix with 1% honeydew. Anything above that it becomes really hard to get the taste out of the atty
No pear, and with a bit of tfa coconut extra
The idea came after the honey pearry clone would not come off the atty for an entire day and me trying out various juices in the meantime :D
There's a juice by Kilo called Dewberry Cream. It's a honeydew, mixed berries, cream. It's fantastic and a similar concept. Could see it working very well. Maybe try FA Fresh Cream .5-1.5% for that "fullness" you are looking for. Maybe try CAP vanilla custard. I think it has a better mouthfeel than TFA's.
mmmm...Fresh cream could work. Would you recommend substituting sweet cream with fresh cream, or just add both?
