I think I might have made a mistake mixing menthol
submitted over 10 years ago by jachjach

Hey, so I switched from Flavorart to TPA menthol and since I found 10% with FA to be a nice concentration I wanted to do the same with TPA.

I wanted to make 2 50ml bottles and I made the mistake of being distracted while doing so. So I put 10ml of Menthol into the same bottle (instead of 5ml each) and now the bottle is clugged with a layer of solidified menthol.

Is there any way I can save it? I have 200ml liquid bottles with big openings and I wanted to press the bottle pretty hard to break the crystal layer and hopefully get all of it into the big bottle. Then I'd add the 2nd bottle without menthol and hope it dilutes..

Any ideas? Thanks guys

Try giving it a hot water bath to help mix in the menthol and then dilute it. I've never heard of menthol solidifying in a mix like that. I've seen it crystallize a little in the bottle.

The hot water bath completely dissolved the menthol layer! Thanks a lot.

I also think that I need to further dilute it, since it still is a quite strong menthol taste

I honestly thought you were gonna say you spilled menthol on yourself.

Buy cheaper bottles and it won't matter if you ruin 1 or a dozen. https://www.fasttech.com/products/3021/10006152/1583201

10% is waaaaaay to high for most flavour art flavors. What flavors were you using by them?
