TFA Dairy/Milk buttery smell/taste?

So, I picked up tfa dairy to compliment a custard I've been working on and it has a very strong buttered popcorn taste/smell about it. Even at low percentages. Anyone else have this issue, or is this the intended flavor profile?

While we're on this subject, 1.5% Dairy, 1% Sweet Cream, and 6% Vanilla Bean Ice Cream (all TFA) with a desired percentage of fruit is an excellent milkshake blend.

If you have it, try adding 2% FA Caramel to this base. It's gooooood.

What percentages are you using? I find at 2% and less, it's decent. Anything higher and it's just buttered popcorn.

Have a recipe you're using it in? The buttery flavor might not be playing well with some other flavors, depending on what they are.

7% Vanilla Custard (Cap) 1% Yam (TFA) 2% Caramel Original (TFA) 4% Graham Cracker Clear (TFA)

That's the base without the milk added. Kind of a yam Custard deal.

It has the buttery taste and smell because it includes acetoin and acetyl propionyl. That smell and taste are their primary effects.
