Anyone Ever Make Tobacco E-Juice? Any tips?
submitted over 10 years ago by mushroomlab

I decided I want to make e-juice, but not regular e-juice. I want it to have actual tobacco in it so it mimics smoking cigarettes. I can't seem to find a thread with the info I want (how much PG/VG:Tobacco, etc.), so I'm making this one. I assume that I'll just need to soak PG in tobacco, filter the tobacco, and then add my desired amount of VG, but that's just my guess. I know that this might make it more addictive, but I still really want to give it a try and be able to get a nice buzz off of my e-cig (I don't even feel anything from 24mg ejuice).

Has anyone ever done this? What's your method?

Im all about this , a pg cold and heat maceration is great for flavor but even if you micron filter it the waxes will gunk your coils in short order. Not a problem if you drip

to avoud that use pure grain alvohol as the solvent , heat for 12 hours below boiling (140 to 165 farenheit) , filter out the tobacco and then allow the remaining concentrate to sit in a freezer for 48 hours. This will winterize out the waxes. Let gravity take this concoction through a coffee filter again and then let it sit until the alcohol evaporates.

you could also transfer it to pg or vg by stirring it while hit before allowing the ethanol to evaporate.

PGA doesnt work with aromatics , many of the molecules imparting those flavors (vanillin for instance) are destroyed by the alcohol.

edit : ecf has a trove of info on this and we also have a facebook group "diy tobacco ejuice"

double edit : ifnyoute thinking whole tobacco alkaloids you might as well just buy the concentrate , its a bit more complicated than what you can do in a kitchen. Any NET questions just hit me , I have extracted over a hundred tobaccos

It's known as NET (Naturally Extracted Tobacco) and WTA (Whole Tobacco Alkaloids).

Neither of these topics is covered here very much. But you can google for more info or go over to /r/Deeper_DIY

I see. So NET is just like a DIY extraction, and WTA is more of a full-spectrum extraction I presume?

NET is just for the tobacco flavor and WTA is supposed to provide the addictive tobacco alkaloids. However, I have no idea how the extraction process differs or even how to do either of them at all.

All right, thanks a lot for the info. :)

Read the reviews for Tobacco Absolute here:

Oh wow! Considering how cheap PG and VG and that $5 bottle is, I should be able to make a huge amount of e-juice. That sounds perfect. :)

That tobacco absolute is just one thing you add to your mixes .

I see, forgive me for my ignorance. So maybe some nutty and a creamy flavor would be good with it?

NET is probably what your looking for. However there are quite a few tobacco flavorings. My favorite are Cured and Virginia from Flavorah.

Thanks. Are those flavorings from Flavorah extracted from actual tobacco, or are they flavors mimicking tobacco?

Mimicking is my guess. I am not 100% sure. You can buy NET extracts. This is one place that sells them but they are super expensive. 5ml runs about 10 bucks and requires you to use it at 25% of the final product. If you were to make 30ml of juice you would need 7.5ml of this extract. Before you go super crazy and do NET or buy expensive extracts hit up flavorah and try those 2 flavors. 15ml is $5.50 and you use it at around 3-4%. Also if you mention in the comments your from reddit they usually throw in some extra flavorings.

Thanks. Do you know where I can get WTA (if I'm not able to make my own tobacco e-juice)? NET isn't what I'm looking for.

I bought some Tobacco absolute once that was super thick that you had to dilute a lot to use. It didn't taste like a cigarette though, reminds me more of chewing tobacco.

Awesome, is that NET or WTA? If it's WTA it will save me a lot of time since I won't have to extract tobacco myself.

I'm not sure. It just says its pure Bulgarian tobacco absolute. It's from azurevaping.com. it's good mixed with captain black from seedman's.

Maybe /u/abdada can weigh in on the subject as he is the molecule guru around here.

Inawera Virginia TA and Inawera DNB, check em out. Havent ordered from Nude Nicotine in a while, but they have/had some good tobaccos too.

My only experience with any NN tobacco was the honey tobacco mixed at 1%, a.k.a. dirty cat piss. I tried mixing 10ml with 1 drop of clove and 1 drop MFS TA to experiment and maybe make it tolerable... The TA gave it a deeper flavor, but was heavy, and with clove, overly spicy and pretty disgusting, so I tossed it. Two weeks hasn't done much for the remainder of the 30ml HT I made, still dirty cat piss... I'll probably dilute it further and play with a few other flavors to see if I can't salvage it -- I accidentally mixed it at 24mg, so I'd rather not toss it if I can help it.

There is a huge sub-forum on ECF dedicated to NETS and WTA methodology.

On my phone so too lazy to dig for a link but just Google ECF NET and it should pop right up I would guess.

You can literally steep tobacco in PG/VG. Just know that you need to filter the heck out of it or else you'll get a couple of good hits then things will taste burnt, and foul your coil due to small tobacco particles burning.

That sounds like a lot of work. Are you not satisfied with the ready made tobacco flavors? FlavourArt alone makes over 20 different tobacco flavorings. I've been playing around with TFA's Black Honey, Cubano, and Mild Black flavors.

I haven't tried any tobacco flavors, but I pretty much want to vape real tobacco in order to get a buzz more similar to actual cigarettes to be honest.

by CryptoVaperover 10 years ago

Actual cigarettes are chopped up tobacco with a bunch of crap added to it. Pure tobacco should taste more like a cigar, which is what TFA Cubano Type tastes like to me. TFA makes a plain "Tobacco Flavor". I haven't tried it but they describe it as "...more like a cigarette." I suspect the buzz is coming from the nicotine, which you can adjust yourself.

Hmm I see. This might be far-fetched, but I'm looking more into MAOIs. I understand that they make drugs like nicotine more potent, so I wonder if it could really work if I add small amounts of dissolvable MAOIs to a tobacco or regular ejuice with nicotine... I haven't seen anyone else do that before.

What percentage are you using cubano at? I have some but have yet to mix it.

I guarantee that your juice will never taste like a cigarette.

It will always taste like tobacco smells.

Sorry to be a bubble burster.

Haha I don't really mind. I really like the smell of tobacco (especially Virginia/Brightleaf), but cigarette smoke smells mediocre to me since I quit smoking awhile ago.

I just want to be able to vape some of the substances that are in tobacco to possibly get a better buzz.
