Scored this magnetic mixer for $80 on e-bay. Too bad I don't have any stir-bars yet :(

There's always this for $20 (you can probably find one cheaper)

True... But it's not a magical magnetic heating stirrer :D

Is that just a basic milk frother?

Very good deal indeed. Iam in the process of making myself a diy one... But that doesn't have the heating

It's the heating element that takes it to the next level. I'd love to figure out a way to add heat to the DIY version.

Iam working on it. ATM i am reviewing heating elements that could work and are safe (the latter being harder than one might think...) I came down to Heat Cable as a maybe

It's a stirplate for mixing liquids.

It heats the plate up and magnets inside turn a bar in your beaker to mix the liquid.

A new-looking one with digital display for $80!? Mine was $100, has a futzy knob and is probably older than me. BAH! Nice score!

I'm pretty lucky with my DIY equipment online. I got a .01g scale with a 2.4kg capacity for $40 a while back that's worth at least 10x that.
